Corrado Spotting Was it you [Archive March 06]
jimmy83 replied to biggrim's topic in General Car Chat
followed a red rado on the outskirts of stratford upon avon last night at around 8.00pm. Could have been g60. Had front mudflaps.....? -
have to agree withth an earlier post, get an S4 (the older, 2.7 bi-turbo)....its got the power, the looks, the practicality, plus they are a lot cheaper. Or if you are feeling flush...RS4?
-
hmmm, tricky one that. In theory, the fact he lied to you about the hpi, means his description of the car was in accurate, so you should be ok to back out of the sale? I'd wouldn't have thought he'd have a leg to stand on really!
-
looks like dubai? loadsa rich boys with nice cars out there!
-
No, ok, maybe not plenty, but it's a tried and tested, not to mention well- documented conversion.
-
Both have their pros and cons. The 20v is more tuneable (i assume you mean turbo..) and will ultimately give you a better power to weight ratio. However, there's no sound quite like a vw 24v v6....plus if you are interested in a 24v conversion, there are plenty of people on here who have already done it! Personal preference i suppose!

No worries M8! Actually, it was vince at stealth that identified that the sensor was playing up when my car went in for a service, just plugged the good old VAG-COM in!
-
seems to be a common problem on the 16v's! wish i'd got a g60 now (or do I.....?)
-
here we go....the one I changed was the ecu temp sensor...
-
i''ll try and sort a picture...I think someone posted a pic not so long ago on this very same subject.....
-
actually, mine's got two wires? its a white plug.
-
yeah, mines a 2.0 too, give me a minute, and i'll go outside and check the wires!
-
check water temp sensor on head. Worked for me! I had similar symptoms too......

2.0 16v Cold start failing and warm up idle too low
jimmy83 replied to guydean1's topic in Engine Bay
just thought I'd add a little note on all this.....just picked my car up from stealth for servicing, and it turned out my misfire was caused by a knackered no.4 lead. On later 2.0 cars, the knock sensor is connected to it, and whoever changed the leads last decided it was too much trouble to work out how to remove the end cap.......tsk tsk -
can't tell if it's blue or not, bit dirty at the mo.....
-
just been out to my car to have a look, i think its on the flywheel side of the head, near where the head meets the block?
-
sorry, probably not searching for the right words! Where would this switch be?
-
hhmmm, i'll have a look at lunch time! thanks for the suggestion!
-
I know, I used the search, but couldn't seem to find anything really. Basically I've got a '95 2.0 16 'rado which only runs on 3 cylinders when its cold. As soon as it's warmed up, it's fine. Any ideas? Only just got the car yesterday, love it to bits other than this problem!
-
bugger....still, sounds like a hairdryer and probably has about the same ammount of torque!
-
My brothers getting sum japcrap civic vtec thing... what are my chances in my 2.0 16v 'rado with kr cam mod?
-
hmmm, a mate of mine has got a vr 'rado, would certainly piss him off if i could hang on to him for a bit.....! although he's having it turbo'd at dubsport now...... :x
-
On the 'trader. tbh, was looking for a nice black g60, but all were mega high mileage, and had 'questionable' 'charger history.....Went to see this one, and it was just right. I do prefer the later styling too. I know its not going to be as quick as the g60, but it's a damn good base for a project.
-
cool, thanks!
-
just a quikie, is that the best way to post pics?
