Heh heh, thats quality. I often find that they don't reposnd by turning them off, which is also quite amusing, as when there up close in traffic or something, you look in your rear view mirror and see a glowing red car behind you

well said! Usually just chavs wanting a race or some dumbass middle aged woman not realising they are for foggy conditions only.....erm or corrado owners without an uprated loom  Have fun D.

Erm, not exactly!! Original engines aren't the most powerful, but the engine bays are big enough to accommodate pretty much anything you want to put in there. Not amazingly quick cars as standard, but thats not really the point with these cars, its the RWD thats makes them so much fun. Have fun D.

Glad to see some interest in mantas on here then.. :D Neither of these are mine unfortunately, first is an A series (running a 2ltr 16V), recently featured in TV magazine, and the scecond I believe is Russell Brookes himself driving his old rally 400 manta. (Lots of RWD fun) Hope you enjoy. have fun D.

Well, I don't like golfs, sorry. I'm actually an Opel Manta enthusiast, currently restoring one (rallying heritage). But I do like the scirocco a lot, in fact I love them, really make me smile when I see one on the road, so bought one of them (GT2) a few years ago, and promptly ran it in to the back (crap scirocco brakes) of a honda estate with tow bar. Replaced that with a mk1 mr2 (fantastic cars), but I'm out on the mountain bike sometimes 3 times a week, and I got fed up very quickly with faffing about with bike racks. Wishing to buy another scirocco for the boot space/looks etc. but not wanting the dodgy brakes...Corrado was the answer, bought a 1.8 16V for high revs and easy maintenance. Great tone to the engine/exhaust. Corrado and scirocco are great cars, kind of cars that look good from any angle. have fun D.

What worries me most about these posts is that a fair few of you seem to own/ride horses...didn't realise Corrado owners were all posh horse riding millionaires.

Yeah, doesn't sound like there is anything major to do there, but I can certainly understand that after buying a car the last thing you need is a whole load of 'little' jobs that together will cost money and time. But as mentioned it is becoming an old car now, so you have to expect these things, and its the same for most old cars, especially fuel lines, bearings and so on, not limited to just Corrados. Go for some long drives in it, should put a smile back on your face!

ignoramous, what a twat, clearly knows nowt about cars. I loved my scirocco, definately becoming a classic, and is certainly a modern classic.

yep, mines my daily whip. 130miles to work a back a week, plus a bit more for my weekly mountain bike outings, and when I'm done riding my bike and its covered in mud it goes straight inside the car, not on a roof rack! (although I do at least use a tesco value shower curtain to protect the cloth, works a treat!) used and abused!

The problem is that there are too many people in the world and too many cars on the road. Quite shocking stories from some of you. A friend of mine had a similar experience, i.e. being followed after an exchange of hand signals, he eventualy pulled over onto a hard shoulder, they did the same and proceeded to shout abuse at him, kick his car etc. He got out of the car and arrested them, as he is a policeman (off duty at the time in his own car). A couple of minutes after he had explained to them that he was a copper, two patrol cars arrived and blocked their way off. Nice! stay safe! Daz.

Its a 1991, 1.8 16V. Been working fine no problems (never missed a beat, never failed to start) until yesturday morning, just woudn't start. It has an immobiliser, though it is farily new and seems to be disengaging, basically you stick the key turn it, flash the fob at the steering cowling, and the little light stops flashing, and the dash lights come on (fuel, oil etc..) as with a normal start, I then turn it fully to start ignition, and absolutely nothing other than the fuel pump click from behind me. As I said above, I've replaced the ignition switch now...but still have all the same symptons. Tried wipers, electric windows etc. to check battery and all seems fine. It's unlikely that overnight it would have completely discharged itself. -

Bugger! Well I've replaced the ignition switch with a VW one, and still nothing. Still here the fuel pump click but thats it. Any further suggestions, would really be appreciated.  -

can't beat a vx220 for 'bang for buck' so to speak, awesome car, prices are insanely low and only because they have a Vauxhall badge instead of a Lotus badge. Have fun D.
