  1. I'm not too sure what the deal is with that. Do they give me a payout & then I buy the car back for a small price, as long as its only a CAT C & not above? Or is a choice between what they offer or the car itself? slime
  2. Had a smash on the M4 & think the car is gonna be a write-off :( (Body work alone was quoted at £2000, theres also mechanical faults but still waiting for that estimate) Now need a price to haggle with insurers when they come back with an offer. Tried to look on Parkers but you have to pay to view the Corrado price so phoned VW to ask them & they said Corrado's weren't in the book. So I hope someone, anyone can help me with what the book price should be on my car. 94 L reg Corrado, black. Cloth interior. 2.0 16v 167k miles FSH Everything worked before smash. The thing that gets me it was only 3 days back from a £600 service..... *grumble grumble grumble*. Can I recoup this loss from the insurers? Any idea of a rough price, the book price & then a realistic price? slime
  3. Hi Dave, Could you please PM me instructions on buying a passenger side repair kit please? Also, you wouldn't happen to sell, or know where to get the screw that holds the handle in place as well would you? slime
  4. Trying to save a couple of quid :) Real stupid question now, so the Aeros, are they the wipers with the "spoilers" on them? Also, is 1999 "new"?
  5. Title says it all really. Can I get away with using 2 driver side wipers from a non-GTI Lupo? Now before anyone mentions search, that has been done but alas I am unable to find out if using the Non-GTI ones will work as well as the GTI ones. slime
  6. In a hurry the other night, it was chucking it down as per usual, parked the car with the wipers still going. Got back in the car & wipers wouldn't work! Turns out the part in red popped off the part in purple & I can get it back on but will only work for about 2 minutes before happenning again. It seems similar to http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... ight=wiper Thats where I nicked the photo from, please ignore the white text & green arrows. I have asked in the wanted & parts for sale section for a new linkage arm but I'd prefer to be able to fix this either temp or perm(saves ££) Anybody know how to fix this?
  7. You mean the middle dial or the middle panel? Any idea about the light bulb for the cluster of switches. I actually meant by the "Any further thoughts on this? " comment if the 2 problems might be linked. slime
  8. Ah, ok so do you think its a fuse thats gone or the bulb has blown? Either way can someone point me in theright direction to fix it? Also my heater controls don't light up either, its a 1994 2.0 16v. Any further thoughts on this? Thanks slime
  9. The cluster of switches which includes the heated rear window, front & rear fog light are they suppose to light up when pushed? If not how do you tell if they are switched on short of getting & the car & looking? Also can anyone tell me where the switch for the rear spoiler operation is? Is it suppose to be within that cluster? Cheers slime
  10. I have just (a week ago) bought a 1994 L reg Black 2.0 16v Corrado but there are a few things that need to get sorted on the car. One of them being the alarm. Its got an imobilizer where once I turn the key I have to press this dongle thingie against a point below a flashing red light that is to the right of the key on the dash & just to the left of the headlight switch. Then the car will start. I am unsure if this is a factory option or after market. The only keys I got with the car is is the normal VW keyfob with a light attached & the imobilizer thing. I thought the light button part of the keyfob was part of the alarm system so imagine my shock after I fitted a new battery just to discover it was only a light!! This then leads me onto my main question, there are stickers in the corners of the windows saying theres a "Bosch Bloctronic Alarm" fitted. I can see a sensor fitted just behind the passengers seat that says Bosch on it but I don't know if its active, or how it switchs on or anything. Was I suppose to get an alarm keyfob from the dealer I bought it from? He gave me all the keys he said were given to him. Because of this I've been thinking of getting a Total Closure Alarm from Toad but I don't wanna be paying money when I don't need to as the car has an overheating problem (need to make a post about that later). My other question is my central locking doesn't seem to work. I'm pretty sure it did sometimes but now its stopped altogether. Whats my first point of call to investigate? I've done a search & it recommend checking out the pump & the accuncentor rod in the boot first, any idea what these look like? Also is there a fuse I should be checking as well? Thanks slime
  11. Where did you get the wiring diagram for the central locking unit from? Would it be the same for a L reg 2.0 16v ?
