  1. Thanks fellas. I am worried that the centre bore values are different, albeit 1.1mm. Would this mean the wheels themselves are not firmly sat on the hub? Is this crucial/critical? Cheers
  2. As above really, generally speaking, are alloys suitable for the Civic fitment also suitable for the 4 stud Corrado? Grateful if someone could let me know before 8 o'clock tonight........ Cheers
  3. I'll be fitting wheels to a 2.0 16v which sits on standard suspension at the moment. I am planning a 40mm (+ or - 10mm) drop to make things look more snug. So am looking at 205/45's then rather than 40 section? I'd love Comp MOs in white but wonder how they'd look on a pearl green Rado (also need more regular cleaning than they'd get from me!). I intend going down the green/clear/chrome look [clear indicators, red/clear rear lights, chrome 16v badges f & r, chrome number plate surrounds, Don't think it will work with white wheels.........and MOs look best in white imho. Got an opportunity to buy 7.5 x17 Borbet Cs, just refurbed and with tyres that have done no more than 100 miles, for £350. Sound good? Price doesn't include delivery. I haven't seen photos yet and don't know tyre make. They came off a Golf Mk II 16v so should fit ok I believe. Thanks for your views and interest.
  4. A quick update.......I fitted the Toledo panel on the weekend and everything went very smoothly. Special thanks to 2_door_fun & gradeAfailure for walking me through centre dash removal. The panel isn't identical to the Corrado unit though, and differences centre mainly around the heater blower dial.......... There appears to be an extra lever for a bowden cable on the blower dial. Also, the Toledo speed knob ( oerr missus!) doesn't correlate with the Corrado speed setting on the cover panel - 0 is speed 1, 1 is speed 2, 2 is speed 3 and, you guessed it, 3 is speed 4. None of this detracts from what was an inexpensive fix for a potentially expensive repair. The Toledo knobs are different in appearence to the Corrado's and swapping isn't an option...again I can live with that. I am wondering whether the Toldeo panel is the same as the Passat one that has been covered previously as an alternative Corrado replacement? The back of the Toledo panel looks very bloody similar to the Passat. With the old Corrado panel out I could see that the only thing wrong with it was the metal spring clip that gives the click/ratchet effect on air distributions/air temp dials had come adrift. I re-secured the clip and the mechanism works perfectly now. In removing the panel, I did manage to break the plastic bowden cable locator (where the spring clip attaches) for air temperature dial. On investigation though, I can see how a plastic wire/hose tie can easily remedy that situation. I don't need a spare so will offer for sale. I haven't got any pics [fla], but couldn't add anything more to that already available. The repair process, with pictures, is in the knowledge base. Cheers :D
  5. Cheers fellas. Good advice to weigh them (thanks dr-mat). I want 16's (tyre size 205/40?). I was looking for 2nd hand Azev As, but all the ones I saw needed refurb/tyres whihc put them well above the Halford's price in the round. I'll check out Jim's 'place', I am sure Halfords had the Titan design. Bloody credit card company sent me a batch of cheques with 0% interest for 6 months (arrived this morning!). Wife's away, I wonder if she'd notice a wheel change? I'll make sure I keep the cover on maybe...... I know the sod hides her new shoes from me!!! Cheers
  6. I called into my local Halfords last night to pick up a ratchet driver. Had to walk throught the store to get to the tool/workshop area at the rear. My journey there took me through their alloy wheel section, with lots on sale. They seem bloody good value. Generally the prices (+ or - £50) were £400 for 15', £500 for 16' and £600 for 17'. All come with Hankooks. The sets on sale started at £300 for 15' and £400 for 16. Didn't see any 17's on sale though. I noticed OZ, Wolfrace, TSW (there were more but can't remember the names). OZs were most expensive. I am seriously tempted as I am desparate to loose the 15' Stealths that came with my recent purchase! Have been looking at 2nd hand, but at these (ready to fit) prices I am having second thoughts. Has anyone else checked these out? Before I do anything mad, I would appreciate any views from those with far more experience than I when it comes to things like this. I guess I really want to know whether Halfords are running a good deal right now. Cheers
  7. Any suggestions on who I could source the above items from please? For K Plate Corrado. I bet roof trim is obsolete....... Cheers
  8. Brand spanking new Toledo Panel has arrived, well chuffed. It has the part number 358 819 045. It appears that the guy I bought it off is, in addition to Opel, a Seat specialist part supplier (older models primarily). I'll drop him an email to see whether he's had any luck sourcing more of these. In my discussions with him I don't want to let on that these things fit Corrados in case there's an immediate price hike! What I plan on doing is posting his contact details up when I have a definitive answer from him and then the Rado Community can contact him direct? I am beginning to wonder whether this post should go in to the Suppliers forum...Mods please?
  9. Tried a 'Wanted' a week or so ago and didn't get a sniff...just like my former pulling days before wifey knocked me over the head and dragged me orf to her caravan! Could try Suppliers though, good idea and thanks very much.
  10. Very smart indeed, I like those wheels......what are they?
  11. I have done a search on this but can't find a definitive answer......... Can someone tell me whether I need to remove the centre dash panel to carry out the heater panel swap? I couldn't ease the old panel through the dash opening so started to wonder whether the panel needed to be removed? I have already taken the radio, ashtray panel and cigarette lighter out. If the centre panel has to be removed, can someone tell me how please? Cheers
  12. The Toldeo panel is on its way to me (extra quid for Paypal so £29). I have asked the seller what the part number is. He's an Opel parts specialist but with lots of contacts apparently. I have asked him whether he can get hold of more of these. He's putting his feelers out and will let me know. When I know I'll let the Community know.
  13. Just noticed I had tapped in 'Leon' above, meant to say Toledo of course. Does sound a bit of a steal. I wonder if Seat stealers catch on to the fact that these panels fit the Corrado as well and whack the price up. Has this happened in the past with any other common-Group [seat/Audi/Skoda] items does anyone know?
  14. Does a brand new 94 Leon panel @£28 delivered sound good?!
  15. I am starting to strip my Corrado down ready for respray. I need to remove the side strips and wanted to know whether there was a trick to this?! Did I imagine someone somewhere suggesting a hair dryer be employed. They ain't arf stuck on well! Cheers
  16. I need both of these items and wondered whether anyone had any recommendations on who/where to buy from without getting ripped? Any idea of price I should pay too please? Cheers
  17. Thanks everyone. Gonna try the Toledo panel......
  18. So a Leon panel fits too? What year would that be? Current model? Would it need modifying? I think the Leon would be a better alternative as it would be far newer than an elderly Passat item maybe?
  19. Thanks Henny, 91 a good year for the Corrado!! Wish I never sold mine.......my wife spotted her a couple of weeks ago in Cardiff. Doesn't look all that good apparently. Cheers
  20. I have located a 2nd hand heater panel but am being asked for £75. I know these things are pricey new, but £75 seems a high price to me. Good or bad value? What do these usually go for? I can see why the modded Passat item is an alternative........... Cheers
  21. Thank you very much. Would appear to be nothing to worry about then. Cheers
  22. She's a 2.0 16v (92 model). The 9 digit code is 191 906 383. Another face of the relay carries further numbering: 89 9502 5 (circled) SHO 89 (circled) 12v/40A On another face, it carries what appears to be a circuit diagram, indicating some connectivity between 30, 85, 86 & 87 which correlates with the relay pins themselves. This is all the information I can lift from the original relay. Does this help? Thanks for responding.
  23. She's a currently a rather sad looking Pearl Green 93 plate 16v. I am working my way through a lengthy list of jobs to breathe new life into her. I do like the Azevs I must admit. Suit the lines of the car very well. Cheers
