I have still got the non ABS master cylinder and reservoir, though its still on the car and I'll have to drain the brakes before I can sell it to you.... how quickly do you require it? ---------- Post added at 9:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:45 AM ---------- as above... how quickly do you need it? -

Thanks, It's sad to have to break the car but alas, mortgages and bills prevail....:( ---------- Post added at 9:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:59 AM ---------- Good point..... i'll have to research what things are worth these days.... Or people can make me and offer for the part they require.... Is that allowed?? -
Sadly I cant afford to keep my project so have decided to break it for parts. :( It is an early spec 16v good overall body panels but no engine (have the KR block left only), No exhaust either Things of note: US spec G60 interior in good condition bar a small tear on passenger seat (was drivers) US spec auto seatbelts Black dashboard FK Highsport coil overs G60 280mm caliper's and carriers Most parts are available I'm happy to post smaller parts for the cost of postage but, body panels, seats, heavy bits, etc are collection only

I have some too if you are still wanting..... You might also want some manual door cards too as they're slightly different to electric ones.... got some in black :)
-
cool, i'll keep my eye out for some
-
i see, so would getting hold of a corrado vr front and rear subfame make it easier..?
-
Hi I have always used the vw / audi group recommended std oils, as they are good quality and all my vag cars have had well over 100k miles with no engine issues.
-
thanks i'll pm him has anyone else done this conversion?
-
hi, good thread, i have a engine less 1990 Kr 16v and have just got my hands on a cheap mk3 golf VR6. Am i right in thinking that i could unbolt the whole subfame, engine and running gear from the golf and it would fit into the corrado...... ? or would that be too easy...........?
-
don't buy a powerflow
-
Hi people As a cheap modification. i've been told that the intercooler off a merc sprinter is a good fit and upgrade for a corrado........ What are anyones views on this? And what sort of power would it be able to handle......? Cheers
-
Cheers GazzaG60. i'm going to check out GSF at the weekend. Does any body know if oil cooling system parts are useable from an audi S2 20v engine on the kr block? ( been told its a 16v block with an extra cylinder)
-
I'm having a go at rebuilding the engine my self, i'm keeping it 1.8 Kr, but am fitting LC pistons can anyone tell me the best place to get bits like : new oil pump bearings shells cam followers timing chains headbolts gaskets etc,etc can you think of anything else that might be needed? cheers
-
have you tried any radweld or similar?
-
Yep i'd look at another vavler engine ( a few on ebay at the mo) it'll be less hassle than converting to an 8v
-
possibly head gasket ?? whats your oil look like? any steam out of the exhaust?
-
Sounds like piston rings to me, valve stem seals would be on start up. time for a rebuild......... or new engine. Is it losing power?
-
i go t a g60 ecu with turbo chip, modified rs2 inlet with injectors, modified exhaust with wastegate and an rs2 down pipe to modify. also the KKK turbo, and a few oil fittings i found it in a box at a friends garage and was rather intrigued, think there's probably a couple of bits missing.
-
see what you mean. was chatting to a mate and he suggested the earlier engine was better, BAM i think...... i had similar ideas but decided to stay 16v and challenge my self to an engine rebuild.
-
why not turbo your 16v? not sure of the differences but when i looked into it a while ago, the older agu lump was a good choice as it had big valves and a distributer so i could run digifant 11 from a g60.
-
oil in the distributor cap?? (the seals go causing loss of power and stuttering) have you checked the pipes going into the back of the airbox are not loose or perished??? ( assuming its standard) check conections to the coil and plug leads are secure?? or try another fuel pump... i use quantum 10w 40 from German and swedish its vw standard oil

i had a similar noise on mine from that area, after the belts were done and it was the timing belt tensioner fitted too tight, worth a check.

« GazzaG60 » wrote: not sure the valve recesses are in the right place to clear the valves. 5 v versus 4v cant see any valve recesses on the piston as theyre for a turbo so are just concaved. should do the trick hopefully
-
16v or G60 or VR6? sounds like a timing issue if you've just had the belts done,
-
in my experience the just stop working, does it do it all the time? stick your head under the car and get someone to turn on the ignition and listen to where the noise comes from ( make sure the cars not in gear!!)
