harryc started following mk 4 stub axle swap, Issues selling the VR, Central locking and electric windows just died and and 7 others
-
The VR6 was picked up by a 2 guys who are taking it straight to the ring! Really sound blokes so hopefully the car is going to a good home! Few pics of the new rocco!! Few pictures of the new Rocco! ---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:37 PM ---------- What remap did you go for? Im looking at a Shark performance STS, im lucky to get 30mpg on the stock map!
-
That was a stroke of luck! Have just agreed the sale of the car for £2300 without the interior!
-
I think you're right about the time of year, the VW salesman was close to taking it off me today but had just paid for a holiday. Think I'll put a sign in the window tomorrow and see if I get any inquiries as the most interest I get is usually strangers walking up to me and asking about it.

As some people may have read I have put a deposit down on a 2 year old Rocco and have been attempting to sell the vr. Its been through ebay twice now and the bidding hasn't gone over £1500 and have had very little interest. Is the car overpriced for its condition and mileage? I was expecting to get £3000 for it seeing as its in exceptional condition with below average mileage but the offers I have been receiving have been well below £2000. Am i completely mad to value the car at what I have? (1995 vr on 113k cloth recaro interior) Ebay link; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190568462892?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Old style for sale link; http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52464-1995-Black-Magic-Pearl-VR6-Cloth-recaro-Bodywork-COMPLETE! I know the seat will demand around £900 if sold separately, am I better off doing this and and advertising the car at around £2200-2500?

^ Got it in one! On mine the fuse is located just above the 53 relays as appose to next to it but sure enough it was burnt out. New fuse = no problems! Thanks guys.
-
Ended up with a 2:1 (by 0.1%!!!) How did you get on? Thanks will definately have a look if the fuses aren't to blame. Ha! Would go nuts if that happened in the new rocco! Havnt had a real chance, had a brief dig about but couldnt locate the fuses above the relays whilst in the drivers seat. Im slightly worried that the cause is the eastern european car wash i took it to yesterday. They seem to enjoy blasting the car from an inch away with several pressure washers ata atime, they gave one of the alloys a proper battering! Im thinking they may have forced water through seals and into the bodywork..

Still confused!? As per standard spec or optional extra? Its an 09 plate?
-
Which one mate? Got a 2yr old used approved 2.0 TSI GT from VW
-
cheers matey will go check it out when it stops pouring..
-
ARe they likely to have all blown simultaneously? I was in the car and windows were fine, started it again 5 mins later and suddenly no windows and no central locking!
-
Its p!ssing down with rain outside so i dont want to start pulling all the fuses and checking relays. Having been working fine and never been an issue suddenly both windows and central locking have died. There is no solenoid noise from the electric windows, they are literally dead. Same story with the central locking... Trying to sell the car this week, bloody typical! Is this more than likely a fuse? Im at my girlfriends with no tools so hoping its just burnt one out. It is very wet outside..
-
I had this problem, a small washer that sits on a recess on the top of the damper had failed. See if you can get hold of an exploded diagram of the strut to see assembly order and if anythings missing.
-
Got a few messages re the recaros already! Nearly sold earlier in the year for an S3 but i just wasn't sold on the looks. Quick question to those who have sold cars through ebay. Im in a bit of a rush to shift the car this week, am I likely to get the price I want on ebay or am I just better off dropping the price a bit and shifting it on here? (Its on at £3400 now) ---------- Post added at 06:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:00 PM ---------- ^ Ignore my last question it's on the bay now anyway! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190566718128

What's the benefit of the rear mk4 brake conversion?
harryc replied to OllieVR6's topic in Drivetrain
I used corrado cables, mk4 rear callipers (from a bora), rado discs (rado bearings etc etc) and mk4 pads. No clearance issues. I have a set of mk4 rear callipers for sale if you want them, just pm me an offer. -
Hi Bill got your pm, will send you a message now.
