I had a brand new 2.9 vag block on obd2 in my 97 VR golf, and after i had put a few thousand miles on her it made 8LBft and 2hp more than the 100k 2.8 engine that i removed. It eventually made 211hp & 206lbft after schrick manifold and cams.
