  1. She was an awesome little motor... I'm going to miss her. Good luck with finding yourself one!
  2. Hi everyone, The VR6 has now sold. Thank you for all your help and support over the years I owned her. All the best to everyone, Kate
  3. Thank you. I will be putting her on Pistonheads and a few other places but thought I'd give you guys here first opportunity. I know a fellow forum member would really look after her 😉
  4. Forgot the most important bit - duh me. And taken advice re mobile. Thank you!
  5. **UPDATED** Sadly, I am selling my metallic blackberry VR6. Life has changed a lot for me in the last couple of years and I have new priorities now which, unfortunately, mean it's no longer feasible for me to keep my Corrado. I've owned her since 2005. She was my daily runner until 2011 when 3 yrs of pay freezes etc. etc. forced me to SORN her. And there she sat until 2018 when I finally started working to get her back on the road. Cue a bit of a major hiccup in the form of an enforced relocation and Corona Virus, but now finally, as of Oct 2020, and roughly £2,200 later, she is running, driving, serviced and MOT'd again. I'll put as much detail as I can think of below, but please feel free to contact and ask questions, get more photos, whatever you like. 1994, M reg VR6 in Metallic Blackberry MOT until Oct 2022 New service, Oct 2021 Mileage: 111,200 £6,000 £5,700 ono Good Stuff: Starts first time, every time Runs lovely - brand new MAS and reconditioned ISV this October Koni coilover adjustable suspension Lupo windscreen wiper conversion Green air filter Spoiler works, goes up at 60mph Still has original speedlines Still has original first aid kit - unopened! Headliner not sagging It's the best colour Less-good stuff: Some rust coming on driver-side front wheel arch Paint showing it's age a bit Headliner is grey and could do with a shampoo Driver-side headlight cracked - I have bought a replacement unit, I just can't shift the screws to replace it (combination lack of decent tools and strength!) Passenger-side headlight has a stone chip Driver's seat bolster fabric is a bit worn - yes, this means she has a fabric interior Trip computer works when it wants to, not when you want it to Passenger electric window won't open. You can hear the relay ping, but it doesn't move. The Unknown Stuff: I have not tried the sunroof. Just in case. Overall she's showing some signs of her age and needs some more in-depth TLC, but she is a good, honest little motor. I think she runs better now than she did in 2011! I'm not a mechanic, but I think most of what needs doing now is more cosmetic. I still love driving her, she makes the best noise and still puts a massive smile on my face, but it's time she goes to an enthusiast who has the time and energy to put into her. She is a great start for someone looking for a Corrado to make their own and I would love to see her have a new lease of life with someone who will enjoy owning her as much as, or hopefully even more than, me. She's based near Cardiff. Thank you for looking. And if you have a Corrado already, please do feel free to tell any friends who are jealous of your Rado 😉
  6. She's a 1994 and she will be coming up for sale soon, once I've finished off a last few bits and bobs.
  7. Cool, thank you 🙂 Photos are always helpful.
  8. Thank you! If you hear some strange noises floating on the wind next weekend, don't worry, it'll just be me swearing at it. I'll be audible all over the UK...
  9. Tyres are new. It's just I only have a manual foot-pump. I got most of the way there with pressure and as soon as it was close-enough to make her driveable I packed in and went for a drive lol. Took some pics when I was out and about, fixed the tyre pressure when I got back. Patience is not a strong suit here! 😂
  10. It's been a long time coming, but finally, my girl is back on the road. Bought her in 2005, drove her until 2011, then had to SORN her. She was garaged until 2020 when I finally got the funds to get her to a mechanic-type-garage and now, here she is, running, purring, starting first time every time and doing me proud. Unfortunately I'm working up to selling her, but I'm glad I've got her back on the road and I'm getting the chance to drive her a little bit longer.
  11. Thank you 😃 I'll have another look at it next weekend and see if I can get it sorted. But it's not the end of the world if the music I'm listening to is the sound of the engine 😉
  12. Yeah I know... 😅 But she is back on the road and that's the main thing! Thank you 😄 I obviously think so, but I am biased. I'm sure the stereo is an easy fix, for someone with some kind of technical knowledge. I'm afraid mine stops with basic maintenance and swapping air filters!! And if I'm honest, I'm psyching myself up for the hard business of selling her now. I've just got a few last little bits of trim to sort out and some valeting to do and then you'll probably see her listed on the For Sale pages. I'll be so sad to let her go, but it's time.
  13. UPDATE: She lives! And Drives like the beauty she always was. I haven't risked trying the sun-roof, just in case... but other than the passenger window, everything else works! Although it turns out my stereo wiring is dodgier than Boris Johnsons' hair-do! Once I wired my stereo in, the battery was flat in a week, so I just unplugged it and currently drive with the sound of the engine for choons. Attaching 2 pics from one of my most recent outings 🙂
  14. Oh you can count on that! 😉
  15. It's still more than 5 miles away from home, is a non-essential trip and means I've got to persuade the ex to travel to the workshop to let us on to the property, which might be a bit hard given current conditions. I know the recovery guys need work but I think they'll be easing things here soon, so as soon as they do I'll be on it. I don't want to lose money I could spend on her on a lockdown fine because I jumped the gun.
  16. 😅If only it was that straightforward! I have to hire a flatbed and co-ordinate with the ex to get her off his property. And I have to drive past a police hot spot and being as we're still supposed to stay within 5 miles of home and going to get her is like a 98mile round trip I don't think I'd get away with it 😛
  17. Thanks everyone. I have nowhere to store her when I get her back so it's going to have to be straight to the garage to get the MOT sorted etc, but at least I can now tell them likely culprits so they can hopefully find the leak faster. Once lockdown is lifted and I can actually go get her of course.
  18. Thanks for the sunroof advice 🙂 I don't think I've ever put just water in the coolant. I always used proper stuff, can't say what my ex did when he was working on her as he did some work without me, but from here on out definitely no water only going on in for sure! Will keep you all posted and yes, petrol is certainly cheaper than I remember since I got my first car in 2001!
  19. It's first item on my list! I need to get her back first before I can start looking again, but from what I remember it was a slow dribble but I can't remember where from exactly.
  20. Thank you! Is the Bentley Manual the big yellow one? Cos I have one of those but I don't understand head nor tail of it 😕
  21. Hello. We were trying to find the source of the coolant leak. My ex was a spray-paint artist for custom motorbikes and he had refurbished many VWs prior to that too, so he had refurbished my Speedlines and the paintwork where the lacquer was peeling or looking dull. She's reasonably standard mechanically, but she does have Koni coilover suspension and black cloth interior which is in good nick except for a small patch on the driver side bolster which is starting to wear through. I always planned to recover it in Alcantara, but sadly never got round to that either. There's a green air filter fitted and the sunroof and spoiler work great. She doesn't run hot and she's not temperamental. When I was using her daily for one of my old jobs she was great. It was gutting to have to SORN her but back then I had 3 years of pay freeze and petrol was £1.36/Ltr. When I get her back I'll probably pop up a load of photos like a proud mama! Lol 😉
  22. Hi guys, thank you so much for your replies. I'm based near Cardiff and I have very little by way of DIY know-how. I always planned to be able to learn my way around the engine bay and do the simpler work on her myself, but it never happened, other than me fitting her with a green air filter and new spark plugs. I think I'll plan to get her back, check her over and get her on the road. I would love to drive her again for a bit, even if it's just my one last hurrah before finding her a new home. So I'll aim to get her running and see how I feel when she's going. Thank you again for your input, I really appreciate it 🙂
  23. Hello! Wow, long time no forum (for me that is...) Love the new look by the way! Ok, I just wanted to a) say hi everyone 🙂 and also b) can I get some advice please? My gorgeous Blackberry VR6 has been SORN'd since 2011. She's been garaged the whole time and a few years ago (with help from my partner at the time) I started working on her to get her back on the road. Unfortunately, things went sideways with my ex and I had to move out and start my life over, like completely from scratch. (Quit job, move back in with parents etc etc) I've got to the point now where I'm ready to get my girl off him and bring her home, but my dilemma is this: Do I keep her and do her up to drive, or do I let her go to another good home? I don't have inexhaustible funds as I only work P/T at the moment and I don't have space here to put her anywhere. She'd need to live on the road 😕 I checked on Autotrader to see what prices look like these days and looking at the photos just made me want to drive her, but she'd need to be reliable enough to be a daily driver and as she hasn't gone anywhere for a long time I'm a little nervous that she could initially turn into a bit of a money-pit. I did get her running in 2017 and then the heater matrix went, so I fixed that and discovered a coolant leak, so I was hunting that down in 2018 when shit hit the fan in my personal life. So, long rambling essay to a close, what do you guys think I should do? It would absolutely break my heart to sell her, but I don't know that I have the money, time or inclination to give her the life she truly deserves any more. Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers, Kate 🙂
  24. Tangled - Kiddy Disney, but I liked it. Very funny 8/10 Megamind - Silly and a bit predictable, but passed the time 6/10 Tron Legacy - Not as good as the original, bit off the wall, but I enjoyed it 7/10
