With the problems that Powerflex are having I'm looking to get a set of Super-pro bushes, anyone ever used them before, are they any use? Anyone got the part number for the r32/tt front bushes? (are they the front front or front rear that you use these for?) On another note where do people buy all their VAG parts from? I've a spurious parts place nearby but would be handy to have a website to go to aswell

Sound, I'll give it a go this weekend and let you know how I get on ) Do you reckon my list of replacement parts sounds good? (They're going to have to be done at some stage anyway...)
-
In one word, nope Could you put together a list of what I need to get, what you're saying sounds bang on and I want to try and get a sort of budget around work that I'm going to have to do. Really appreciate your help so far mate! So far my list looks as follows: Full polybush kit polybush Top mounts (front only or front and rear?) New power steering pump New track rods and ends Bottom ball joints (are these front only aswell?)

Ok just thinking about this a bit more and went for a quick spin last night to get some sympthoms, basically the problem is that my steering feels a bit loose, best way to describe it is as if there's a bit of play in the wheels and they were moving slightly independant of each other. I'd be drifiting to the right slightly and as I gently correct it you'd almost feel it fall over to the left and then start drifting left. Terrible description but tough to call. I've read on here about bearings might be gone and also that the steering column should be replaced, any checks I could do to confirm? Seperately (i think) I also notice now and again I'd be turning a corner and the power steering would drop off and become heavy, this would happen very rarely and that's why I thought bleeding it might help. Seeing as it should really bleed itself I don't think this is the case, anything else I could check? Finally, I've recently put some 16" BBS wheels onto my C which is a G60, I used 5mm spacers all round, now both wheels on the right hand side of the car don't rub at all but when going hard right the back left seems to rub and when on a big lock (to the right) the front right rubs on the inside of the arch. I've been told the bushes could be gone causing this but I'm not sure that bushes could make any real difference to this, any general thoughts on this one?

added a bit more info. So did I

Legend, thanks mate! How will the air get out while I'm spinning the pulley if I've closed the system back up?
-
My steering's a bit iffy at the mo, can someone throw up a quick guide on how to bleed the system?
-
Now that's what I call service

Brilliant thanks a mill for all this lads I'll let you know how I get on :) Getting a load done on my 'rado lately so all this will bring her back to 1992 glory!
-
Great stuff cheers, what do you make of the powerflex bushes should I go with them or the OEM ones?
-
Looking to replace all the bushes on my G60 Corrado and thinking of going with a full powerflex kit which comes in about £120 Thoughts? Are the wishbones hard to get off? Should I do this myself if I consider myself fairly handy or should I save the heart ache and just leave it in somewhere? Hoping for a sporty tight ride sacrificing a bit of comfort... Is there anything else I should change like bearings to tighten the car up again?

My boot switch is goosed so keeps setting off the alarm and draining my battery! Does anyone have the part number for the switch in boot lock so I can order a new one, anyone know the best place to order from?
-
Great, thanks a mil!!!

Putting the pulley back on the charger and just wondering if anyone knows what I should torque the bolt up to? Are there any other important torque figures I should heed when refitting the charger (other than the oil feed lines...)
-
Ah cool, sorry for the hijack but at what point do you have to start worrying about oil coolers, baffled sumps etc... Are you planning on animal track days or what?
-
What's a baffled sump??

Hey Biggrim, long time no see :D Well since I got her from you I've just been enjoying her! Haven't done a huge amount bar driving, servicing and then fixing the little things that seem to go every now and again  Stopped driving it around September last year when there was a couple of bigger issues and got myself a runabout to keep me going. Worked on the problems and got them all sorted so after thoughts of selling her on and going for something else I decided to pump a bit more money in and get her back on the road! For the last few months I've been dealing with the supercharger rebuild along with little things like wiring in better speakers, new wheels and bigger service stuff. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll throw together a few pics so you can see her on new wheels (finally!) and Irish reg

Right got through to the owner again there, looks like the chap I've been dealing with all along was just incompetant. He was bang on about the situation and it looks like I'm all sorted. I'd talked to him previously and he apologised as he thought that the issue had been resolved at that stage. The actual work done by the company is top notch and I think I should've just escalated this sooner but at the same time I really shouldn't have to escalate in the first place  Woooooooo hooooooooooooo have had it parked up for over a year now so can't wait for the G60 powah !!!!!!
-
It's a bit of a long story and is dragging out a few months now which is doing my brain in. I've been chasing them with multiple emails to my contact in the company and a rake of phone calls aswell as an escalation to the owner which wasn't really taken onboard. I won't be naming the company yet but I might throw a write up here later on to see what people think, I'd a part to play in it aswell but I don't feel like I deserve to be treated any worse because of it. I think I've been very reasonable so far! Cheers for the feedback, I was just wondering if this was a regular occurrance. If you want me to go into detail I will but won't be naming names just yet...
-
Exactly that's what you'd think but nope it wasn't Jabba, hence my surprise at being treated like a chump :brickwall:
-
Folks, Anyone here ever have any problems with any of the supercharger rebuild companies as far as customer service goes? Don't want to name names yet but I'm having an absolute nightmare between dodging calls and and complete incompetence with one of the major rebuild companies. Never heard of any issues before and I'm surprised with the way I'm being treated. So am I alone???

Nice pics man, that isn't your engine is it?

Yeah cheers, it's the water pump then (at least they've available to buy!) I'll take the charger out and work my way down from there, thanks again for the help, I'll let you know how I'm getting on
