keep the snorkel m8, I got a sharp knife and opened up the small end up from 40 to 43mm, it made a good difference but with slightly less throttle response between idle and 2000 rpm
-
are you 100% sure the cam timing is correct?
-
Due to the 50mm being too big and the 42mm version a bit restrictive beyond 6k , i'v got hold of a tool that will hopfully bore the big plenum 42mm manifold to 44-45mm, just an experiment :)

my pedal sticks somtimes, but only if its been stood for 3 or more days and when giving it some on a long journey, but it comes up again afterwards

wouldnt make any different in a rado as theres always coolant flowing round the matrix, all the heater control does is move a flap in the heater air box that makes air blow through the matrix  nice1 m8 i didnt know that about the C', I was thinking of mk2 golf
-
it sounds like an air lock, possibly between the thermostat and cyl head, i would replace the thermostat asap as it could be gunked up and/or knackerd, you probably know this allready but when you fill the cooling system up make sure the heater control is set to warm

Hi gents, my valver's rad fan kicks in at 100 degrees according to the gauge, i presume this must be the second speed, is it the sender unit on the radiator thats at fault or any other sensors,if so where are they located? cheers
