  2. i know its not a corrado but my house mates going to be selling his 1995 Golf VR6 Auto that is in almost new condition its only on 49k miles fsh, he has no idea how much it is worth anyone got any ideas this isnt a sales thread by the way
  3. just thought i would ask, how rare is a storm with a auto box, £5200 with 70k on the clock does this sound dogy to anyone, sorry there are no pictures of it
  4. quickest car i have been in is a jaguar XJ220 back in 1993, the only problem it only had 5 man power at the time as it was broken down, i just steered it in to the factory (gutted!!!!!!!)
  5. 60 to 70 is just too slow it gives me car sickness ( a bit like a rough sea is ok but gentle swaying is bad) i am still not sure my tank is a 70 litre (the gauges do say 15 g) as, if i fill the tank from mid to low red it only costs me £50 @ 94.5p per litre. has my tank been chaged to a smaller one
  6. just thought i would say as i started this thread; I managed the jouney, we got 430 with still the red to go, that included being stuck on the M25 for 1.5 hours. (4.5 hours to drive 220miles - not good!) We averaged 36.6mpg which i have never seen before (80mph When we could). But as for a 70 litre tank i dont think we have one because from the sart of the red to full is 55 litres. Either that or the reserve tank is 15 litres. PS is saw a blue m red storm i think it was m99#hub looked good and a dark m reg vr6 going 100+ north m3 passed eastleigh friday morning just before 9am i think
  7. Its easy to miss Regan, If you drive down cardigan road (from winton high stree) you will see the show room next to the kebab and pizza shop, i think you can get in throught the show room but to drop the car off you need to turn down waterloo road, then take another right before you get to waitrose
  8. Well, this jouney does sound possible so i am going for it on one tank. If you see a corrado in the hard sholuder possible junction 2 of the M27 on sunday, feel free to laugh or throw some loose change at me so i can be on my way. cheers Will
  9. hello mate, i use regan vw at the end of my road Cardigan Road, they are honest straight to the point and very good, if they give you a quote they do not go over it. they did my aux water pump. I always use them and they are open saturdays unitl 1 oclock
  10. Just wondering as i am planning a long jouney (well 365miles) if i could make it on one tank of fuel (driving around 70mph) What do you reckon at the moment is the most amount of miles on a single tank on a VR6. We have managed 180mile to 341 miles As sad as it sounds but the C vr6 is not the best when your wallet makes tracing paper look fat. Cheers Will
  11. oh right thats cool then, do you know what its for on non uk cars, something to do with emission control or something
  12. just a quick one, does anyone know what this wire is for and does it (or should it) effect anything. Cheers Will
  13. Just checked the ignition leads and all are in fine. To be honest as this is only a problem in the morning i reckon it must be damp getting in somewhere, but the question is where?
  14. Yeah i did struggle plugging the leads back in but i am 90
  15. I have now replaced the coilpack with a brand new one and i have got to say my car has so much low end grunt all of a sudden it unbelievable. but a couple of weeks after fitting it the car runs on five cylinders for around 5 to 10 seconds first thing in the morning, I don't think it is the ISV as that just causes a lumpy idle (which it has), the leads are new and so are the spark plugs. anyone got any ideas, I may well plug the VAG.COM in but i dont have the activated version. Cheers Will
  16. sorry a bit slow replying but i was using version 409.1. it only picks up the error sometimes, which is when the ABS light comes on. When the abs light does not come on i do not receive any errror. I dont know if its related but my brakes seem grawnchie (however you spell that) thi may well be efgfecting the sensors i dont know, but i suppose this doesnt explain why the comm's are intermittant
  17. Engine start blocked by immobiliser from what i have read from a post from kevhaywire, is something to do with the crank sensor. a) where is this located b) does anyone no a price and a part number for one c) Is it easy to fit thanks Will
  18. sorry i put this under drivetrain, but i cannot work out how to move it to technical, if someone knows can they do it for me - sorry for being lame
  19. i have an intermittent fault with the immobliser picked up by VAGCOM, i have attached a word file with the recorded fault. 01128 fault found with immobliser pickup coil. this is the fault found when the car starts and then dies, and when the car is running the fault reads: intermitent fault - Engine blocked by immboliser on startup. anyone got any suggestions, purhaps its a fault with the ignition key chip thanks Will
  20. the abs light comes on sometimes and does not reset until the ignition is switched off and back on. i know there are lots of "my abs light is on" but i plugged in the vagcom and it said the above fault, i have attached a screen print of the fault. Or do you thinkis is a typical, bleed the brakes systme replace the abs sensors. also in the attachment there is the general running of the car, does everything look ok to you. Will ps my appologies if i havent managed to attach the file correctly
  21. thanks i plugged the vagcom in found a fault with the immobliser, cleared the fault the car starts fine, how awesome is the software, probably just saved me a fortune
  22. help needed please, the car was fine yesterday and this morning i go to start it, it starts then dies almost instantly, i tried flawing it - it revs then dies straight away. Is it going in to emergency shut down or something or maybe immobliser i could find anything on the forum except possible ignition switch cheers Will
  23. ok cheers for the advise, i will give it a go
  24. hey i have trying to find past topics and no luck, but does anyone no how difficult it is to change the above and are there any instructions or advise they can give cheers Will
  25. i am worried the head gasket may be on its way out, i have just replaced the heater matrix as it ruptured, then a couple of days later the one of the matrix hose feeds split, i have replaced that an now i have noticed the after driving 100 miles and checking the water level as soon as i stopped the level was above the max. I have since driven back and checked the water level now its cold and it is just below the max. is this a case of its just the presure or is it something more sinister. (the presure may be too high) Cheers Will
