  1. my clock is slow to.. loses a couple of minutes a week! I just put it down to it being old..
  2. i bought mine from GSF £47 including VAT and postage, they're aobut £115 from VW... started to take the dash apart then thought better of it, put it back together and booked it into a mates garage!
  3. Had a bit of spare time this afternoon so thought I'd have a look at removing the heater matrix ready for the new one... I got as far as removing the glove box and centre console, but when it came to removing the bolts in the engine bay and unclipping the hoses I got a bit stuck as I cant find the bolts, just one that is to the left of the hoses! and I can't get the clips of the hoses! Does anyone know an easy way of getting these clips off?! and does anyone have any pictures of which bolts i need to remove? This is why I work in an office.
  4. I think I will bypass it for the time being then... was just an idea, if rad weld works on the radiator I thought it might work on the heater matrix as this has the same coolant pressure/heat. doesn't it? anyway i've ordered a new matrix now, gotta find someone to change it, don't fancy it myself looking at the photos i've seen on here! cheers for your comments.. !
  5. This may sound like a stupid question but could using rad weld temporarily fix a broken heater matrix? my windscreen steamed up the other day but the car didn't fill with water so was thinking it might be a small leak? I really want to avoid taking the dashboard to pieces!
  6. Thanks for your help, I phoned the VW main dealer today and they didn't have a clue what part I need even tho I gave them the fault code... they asked me for a part number... I don't suppose anyone has this?? would really appreciate any help.. thanks very much.
  7. Yes, when I start the car the light comes on and goes of as usual in the start up sequence, then as soon as a drive off the light comes back on and stays on, when it first started happening if I pressed the brake pedal the light would go off but now it just stays on all the time....
  8. Ok cool, that sounds more like it, there were 5 old codes including the pedal position sensor, they cleared them all and road tested it and the pedal postion sensor is still there - I think.... sorry but I'm not really up on diagnostics etc, the ABS warning light is still on so I guess they didn't clear it? cheers for the advice.
  9. Hello guys, was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem? My G60's ABS light came on so I took it into a local VW specialist who plugged it into the diagnostics and they told me code 00793 brake pedal position sensor is the probelm. They said this was a common but very expensive problem, as the whole unit where the brake pedal position sensor is located will have to be replaced and these cost £800!! The ABS isn't working at the mo and the car won't pass its mot with the light on so was hoping there may be a cheaper option! Has anyone got any ideas please!!!! cheers Phil
  10. I was just wondering if the dump valves that you can buy for G60's are any good, anyone got one and do they serve a purpose other than making a noise?
  11. Thats right the old one was black, and the new one is kind of orange and made in Germany, cheers for your advice!
  12. Replaced the ECU relay and hasn't cut out since, £10.89 from VW, result!
  13. Can anyone tell me if my 1991 corrado G60 has a diagnostics plug and if so where is it?! Cheers!
  14. Thanks for that, i'll start with the distributor then. cheers
  15. Wonder if anyone can help... my G60 cuts out once it has warmed up, it then turns over but will not start. If I leave it to cool down for a bit it starts but then a few minutes later it'll cut out again. I've tested for a spark when the engine is turned over after cutting out and there isn't one. I've been advised its probably the ECU or dizzy.... Has anyone had this problem with a G60 before? any ideas? Thanks very much.
