  2. Hi All I'm on the VW Corrado Display at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham weekend 16/17/18 November. I would like to put a display up of all the shows all Corrado owners have attended to advertise our proud owners. This is a general request to all owners who have you taken any photos of Corrados at a show this year. Would appreciate it if you could email me with a few photos taken and where it was to [email protected]. I will then print of . Looking forward to receiving them. Regard Ron White Note: BBcode and smileys are still usable.
  3. Got one. Have managed to get the remains of the old bush out. Do you knock it in first before putting the startwer motor back on.
  4. Hi Im changing my starter motor (long shaft type) as an ongong refurb. Having taken it off i did notice that there was some sort of bush on the end but it was broken. Having seen some pictures of a replacement starter with what looks like a copper bush. Does anyone know what this does as I went to get a replacement and it didnt have one. Any advise as I have just ordered another one (Lucas).
  5. Starter Motor playing up. Whats the best one to go for. I've had problems with my VR Water pump so while the water hoses were off thought I would look at my starter at the same time. It is off the car.
  6. The water pump on my VR has failed and seized the other day had to be towed back by the AA Man. Belt was shredded and lots of smoke. Have managed to remove it by removing the engine mounts and jacking the engine up. However have noticed some of the impeler blades have a few peices missing. Do you think this could cause problems have managed to give the system a good flush by removing the top and bottom hoses and had a good route about inside where the pump was. Any info would be useful. Have had a few quotes for a new one GSF ranges from £23 - £35. less with my discount Euro Car Parts £27 - £41. AVS Car Parts £32 + vat VW Stealers £105 with a surcharge of £35 for returning pump = final figure about £63 ish could be less with my discount usualy 10% whats the best one to go for

  11. Hi all No takers for this show yet even though its free to those showing their cars, and you don't even have to attend both day. This may not be a VW show, but it has alot happening with a wide selection of other makes of cars and there is a sprint race on the old track wide some great cars. I attended last year and thought this would be ideal as we don't seem to have many shows down South. Maybe the show is not cool enough to attend. Your support would be appreciated.

  15. I'll be going to this good day out. See you all. Has anyone seen Corzin (John) lately from bournemouth hasn't been on the site for months or at any meets.
  16. Realy enjoyed yeasturday and the camping. Shame I was the only one. Beer was chilled and the BBQ was great. Missed a great Sunset and Sunrise.
  17. Hi attanded this on Sunday morning not to miss the Grand Prix (what a race) as I was visiting my son for the weekend and just lives around the corner. Yes it has just re-started after a while and now going for its second year. It seems odd them racing around park but was a good sight with some classics. Classic car section was good but no vw's yet. How about us attending next year will get in contact with the organisers. Ron White CCGB
  18. Hi I'm going to this on Sunday but not taking the VR. Shall go to see if it's worth us using it as a venue for getting together and showing our cars. Ron White CCGB Member
  19. Thanks again for attending guys much appreciated meeting up with some familiar and new faces. Could not of wished for a better day company and Corrado chat was also good. Even the breakfast was great. I agree our welcome by the organiser was great, will send our thanks for the arrangements. Maybe next year we could even have a VW Corrado day with even more members attending would be a great sight in front of the club house. If anyone has some more ideas for a meet later in the year (August maybe) at a sensible time meeting up for lunch then maybe a drive on their favorite route. Suggestions would be welcome. Also I am putting together something about our get together at Brooklands and have it published in the CCGB Sprinter with a few pics, because they are short of material. If those who attended could jot something down and email me I could collate them all into one. I would appreciate it my email is [email protected] Tip if your Matrix goes just disconnect the hoses to it and link together to by pass it until renewed. I even managed a trip to the Mecedes World site very impressive especialy the Formula 1 car broken down into separate components and suspended from the roof by wires. I'd like to insert some photos but having probs what am I doing wrong. See some of you at Stoner. Ron White
