  1. 1 bar is 14 psi, so your getting only 7psi ish...
  2. Who went? I thought it was a good show! lots of nice motors and a good atmosphere. Would like to say thanks to the Guys I was chatting to about Corrado's, i guess some of them may be on here! ( I was in orange! ), I got to have a good look around a few and get a feel of the inside. Which just confirmed my fears, I need to save more :D Also, apologies on behalf of Tom, who drove off rather abruptly. Not usually a problem, unless youve got half a ton of water in your car and you soak a load of bystanders  Anyone got any pics up yet?
  3. Ok... Footpump 2 litres of water A rocket A powerkite A frisbee Overalls Jump leads Oil Small tool kit Inner tube Allen Keys Torch Spare bulbs Lots of random coinagE
  4. Thats the one. Perhaps my wording wasn't great. Id like to poke around your cars...
  5. Mods - make your decision, I was in 2 minds over which board to use...! At the Harewood festival? Im going up with a mate whos showing on the Dubforce stand, will be doing all the usual show stuff, (ice cream, ogling girls, maybe a bbq, might even look at some cars...) But, I'd quite like to have a chat with some of you lot about your cars, and possibly have a litte poke about? I hear its the CCGB thats having a stand, is anyone here involved with that? I'm really interested in buying a rado now, would appreciate your combined wisdom. Thanks!
  6. 11.15 I think, would record it, but then ill never watch it!
  7. I'll think about it... but i mgetting ahead of myself, Im still saving and its pointless buying one before im 21, and paying a years worth of 20yr olds insurance.
  8. Brill, guess that means i'm staying up late tonight to watch the highlights! Well in Jenson.
  9. Heavy modding is not on the cards yet, not on the engine front anyway.... ( famous last words. ) Im gonna do some more detailed insurance quotes on 16v's and G60's, its jsut maintenance that would put me off a Charger. Its my only car so gotta be driveable day to day. Rob - what you studying? Im doing Engineering Design, got a year designing buses ahead of me!
  10. Sweet, The Squires thing Ive been meaning to go to the past 2 with said mates ^, its about 10 minutes from my house...! Which is great except on a sunny wednesday evening you cant drive anywhere without being swarmed by bikes! Also means that if I do turn up, I can show you all where some good roads are nearby ;) And the escort, yup, i thought someone would have a heart in gob moment, but as I say, im not gonna slag it off cos its done its job explicably, and you cant say fairer than that.
  11. I guess I have to put a pound in the swear box now, but... 1996 1.6 Zetec Si. Now now, don't be so quick to slag... Its not exciting, but, im a student, Its done me fantastic. Cost me 750 quid, Its fantastically reliable, mint inside, outside average for age. I keep it clean, put petrol in it, service it once a year, and thats it. Im changing because Im earning more money now, I have more NCB, and will be 21 very soon. The world is, relatively, my oyster! On 84k now, and it will be a perfect first car for someone when it goes! Stan - cheers! I know about the Harewood thing, will be going up with some mates who have various Veedubs.
  12. Cheers for the link, ill be looking at forums a lot, tend to be the cars that have been kept well at realistic prices. It'll be a 16v that im looking at, trust me 130brake is gonna be faster than my car now! I reckon if i've got 2 and a half I should be able to get a pretty nice one!? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/92263.htm Just my luck, bit too early for me, but it looks pretty sweet, FSH, and nearby! Just done a few quotes, looks like your about on the money with that, considering Ive jsut paid 750 for a group 7 car this year, im pretty happy about that. Im in no rush to buy ( Im waiting till im 21 end of the month anyway ), so ill see how it goes. Lastly - any other corrado/vw forums I should be checking?
  13. I live East leeds, Garforth in fact right on the end of the M1. I'd be interested in getting to some meets if you guys do that kind of thing? Do you have like Are Reps and things like a lot of forums/clubs? ( Edit - I would be happy to park the Ford round the back! )
  14. Thanks, the name/tag Ive had for years, when I first got the internet ( Remember that!? back in the 90's!? Dialup! ) I signed up to a forum, not a clue why I chose that, but now years later, Its stuck, and If you ever see 'snotrag' mentioned anywhere on the web I pretty much guarantee you its me! As for the cars, I had a period where I must have been turning into my dad, ''Ooh shall i get a diesel estate car, shall I get another ford, shall i put my standard HU in cos its easier to use...'' Now I've got a little bit more money ( Student, doing an industrial placement! ) and I've had a moment of clarity, I dont really give a rats ass about sensible, I want something thats gonna piss my mum off, something thats noisy and fun. Fast, well, im only jsut gonna be 21, Fast cars will come later in life, but a Corrado is looking more and more promising for the time being..!
  15. I've got a family member whos very involved with these guys Does the engine side of things for the new cars, So obviously blagged a few rides in one, properly fast. Admittedly you can get fast hatch's and saloons, but a proper sportscar chassis jsut takes it to the next level. Been in a few caterhams which altough not particularly fast on paper, again give that fast feeling. Mates got a 16v G60 mk1 golf which is pretty hairy, considering how small it is. Also did a rally school type thing, got to the end of the day, thought i was doing ok, felt pretty confident and fast. Instructor took me out in Group N Scooby on a gravel stage, fast on tarmac is all well and good but until you've tried it, you have no idea how skillfull a godo rally driver is. Fastest car Ive owned... Well I havent owned anything that is anything more than a cheap small engined family hatchback, so I wont insult you!
  16. Great stuff guys, really usefull. Looks like a good close forum over here! I've got a few good mates who are big on the VW 'scene', ( guy with a 16v G60 mk1 )I was supposed to go down to the meet at Squires near me last week, didnt make it in the end. Wish I had, got dusted by a silver VR who was on the way there! I'll have to tag along and see if i can have a poke around one. Don't know anyone whose owned one unfortunately. Few Questions - MPG, better on the G60 than the N/A models? Also, the figures for the 3 N/A engines are very similar? Is there really much difference ( at std spec ) Bascially, a Corrado is gonna cost me a lot more to insure than other stuff I've looked at, which means I've got to adjsut my 'ratio' of buying/running costs... However, im thinking an average/not a shagger, not a minter type corrado, is gonna be a whole lot more enjoyable to own than a newer hatchback.. And Insurance can be paid monthly aswell!
  17. Im just looking for a new car for when I turn 21, been looking at all sorts, budget 2 to 3g's, Been mainly looking at things like Seats, Mk1 focus, golfs, newer hatches/saloons. The corrado is much older, however this offsets the style of the car. Anyway, is there a buyers guide anywhere? Im gonna be looking at info on buying and insurance, however, Its midnight and my eyes are square from a monster ebay/autotrader sesh. So Hey, thanks for any help, and ill post back tomorrow!
