  1. Happily I've had a lot of PMs so I'll give it another day or two and then pick a recipient. If that falls through I'll move down the list. Thanks for all the enquiries, hopefully she'll go to a good home.
  2. The time has come to get rid of my 94 valver. The car has not moved for 2 years but is in decent nick. It's a tale of woe. A few weeks after it passed its last MOT (and I had spent a tidy sum sorting out a cold idling problem) I removed the flat battery. When I finally got round to charging the battery and putting it back in the car, the near side bonnet catch had seized up. Not needing a car from one week to the next, the weeks turned into months and it sat in the car park while I didn't get round to sorting it out. Now it's got to go or I'll have to scrap it. I'll let it go FOR FREE to a good home. What's good? - 88k on the clock (11k of them mine) - New MOT, drove well and everything was running well before the unplanned SORN (including spoiler, sunroof, windows) - unmodified - Dragon Green bodywork is in good condition except for some rust on the driver's door (see below) and a couple of minor dents and scrapes - black fabric interior is damp but otherwise in good condition. Valet it and keep it in a warm garage for a couple of weeks and I think it'll be fine What's bad? - bonnet seized shut (one side only) and no battery - several patches of bubbly rust along the bottom edge of the driver's door, about 5-10cm high - stereo (Sony CD/MP3) only works intermittently - a loose connection somewhere I think. - immobiliser was permanently disconnected due to a fault that the garage couldn't diagnose (alarm and central locking were still fine) - damp patch behind the passenger seat has appeared in the last few weeks Because of the damp I'll give preference to someone with a nice warm garage and lots of experience sorting out old cars (bonus points if they're rados). You'll need to make arrangements to have it towed from Westcombe Park in SE London. If you're interested or have any queries, reply here or PM me ([email protected]).
  3. Anybody know of a top notch body shop in my area (Greenwich/Lewisham/Woolwich etc) who would do an excellent job of respraying my driver's door which has a couple of rust bubbles? Prepared to travel further to avoid the cowboys :( . Cheers PS Cross-posted (yeah, I'm a muppet)

  5. A pound in 1994 is worth about 1.40 in today's money, so a Storm would be over 30k
  6. Try the classifieds on the pistonheads website, they always have a reasonable selection. And if you don't know a lot about cars (and Corrados specifically) consider getting an AA/RAC check and/or taking a member from here along with you when you check out a prospective buy. There's a sticky thread in the 'Cars For Sale' forum of nice people offering their assistance in return for a pint and a thank you. The VR6 is quite a complicated engine and Corrados in general are getting old and the poorly-maintained ones can be a bit of a money pit, so ask for help here and don't jump in. It took me four months to find my 16v, and it probably cost me a bit over the odds but it was worth it in the end to get a good example.
  7. Volunteers needed! The wikipedia page on the corrado (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Corrado) was a bit crap; I tidied it up a bit but someone recently changed the photo to a not-very good pic of a not-very-standard red VR. How about somebody with top photos of their totally standard and showroom-shiny rado go and fix it?
