  1. Thanks Gav, I'll try & find it tomorrow. Doesn't matter about the insurance as it ain't insured, it's off the road at present. :(
  2. as i said before..my alarm wouldnt reset no matter how many times i dissconnected the battery, and at the time i was on top of the horse show pass broken down,so i called out the breakdown service,he tried the same as me,he then dissconected the main alarm unit behind the glove box, then hey presto the alarm reset it self,it may work  Did he leave it disconnected or or disconnect & plug back again?? I think I've tried both though. :(
  3. Update: This morning after repeatedly connecting/disconnecting the battery I got the stage where th alarm light on the dash was on but alarm not going off. When it's been like this previously the car starts & yeh presto the car started 1st time. At all times the alarm fob was useless. I then disconnected the battery again & when I reconnected the alarm didn't go off but the car wont start & fuel pump didn't priime either. Has anybody got a guide on how to remove the alarm & imobiliser system. I presume it's not the black box/siren in the engine bay. There's two further boxes behind the glove box & an extra fuse block by the main fuse box on the drivers side.
  4. Hi Gav, Sorry I'm incorrect when I say the alarm arms when the battery is connnected. The doors don't lock, the alarm merely goes off & I can't stop it using the fob, only by disconnecting the battery again or by leaving it a while. I can hear the fuel pump prime but I haven't got as far as seeing if there is a spark when I crank the engine although I suspect there isn't as normally it fires first time. Cheers James
  5. Hi Gav, I'm not sure I understand that comment. Are you saying that the alarm & immobilisor are two seperate components? If so why will the car not turn over when the alarm is going off. Also when it stops going off the car will turn over but not start & the red alarm light flashes.??? Please help I'm confused & I need to get the car started. :(

  7. Guys I need to remove the factory fitted Scorpion alarm from my 16valver. The battery had been disconnected for ages 7 now the alarm doesn't work. It arms but wont de arm I've tried resetting it but I think the back up battery is dead. Therefore I want to remove the alarm so I can at least start the car. How do I do it??
  8. Thanx H100VW, by the way are you in Newbury, Berks, as there's a loverly Corrado (VR6 I think) with a number plate very similar to your name & Corrado.Net stickers on it. Often parked to near where I live.
  9. Lamda probe is a definite possibilityas I seem to remember it starting after I had the cat bypass pipe fitted. Also the fuel consumption is shocking and the exaust pipe is coated in black soot. Anyway of checking the lamda probe without buying a new on? I dont think it's the clutch plate as it happens on idle as well when not driving.
  10. Thanx Henny, I'll check them too. It's a 2L 16v by the way but I think its similar.
  11. Dizzy & rotor have been checked & replaced, cant remember how much fuel was in it but it been filled up a couple of times since. Which vacuum hoses are you referring too? I haven't checked the air filter & can't remember when I replaced it last so I miy change that at the weekend.
  12. A problem has developed with my C 16v and I dont know what it is. It starts fine but when i drive off it seems to misfire & dye on anything other than full throttle. When I floor it, it kind of pauses and then picks up, if i let it idle it will run very rough, like on 3 cyclinders but if I carry on driving it usually goes away. The car has been standing for over a year till now. I've replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs & leads already but it didn't help. Any help much appreciated
  13. skimask, thanks for the reply, you were right the banjo bolts were a bugger to get off & the filter clip is a pain to reattach. I need to find a right angled screwdriver to do it up properly. Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem so I'm now thinking its either the fuel pump or injectors playing up. :(
  14. Has anybody got guide to changing the fuel filter on 16v? I know it's supposed to be easy and I'm competant wiht a spanner but I can't find one & I dont want to start without reading one first. In all the things I've read so far it mentions clips on the fuel lines but mine doesnt have any. The problem is that the car has been sat for a year & just got it back on the road & its developed what I think is a fuel problem thats getting worse. It splutters and runs rough unless you floor it then it picks up but idle & mid throttle it just splutters so I think the filter is now clogged up. Cheers Jim
