    Bumpers

Cheers dude, yeah it's definately on it's way back, just wanted to make sure I knew what I was blathering on about before I do let them know the good news!

    Bumpers

Thanks for the reply and pics gents, appreciated! By looking at the bumper, it seems the friendly local garage have put an early bumper on. However, the fogs and indicators are in the same position as the first pic in the above post (almost flush with the front of the bumper), but the line is the same on as that on the second pic. Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers

    Bumpers

Hi, Can anyone tell me if there's a difference, between early and late bumpers on a Corrado, or if there's a difference between VR6 bumpers and valver bumpers? I've got a 95 VR6 and my missus bumped it, so the garage have put a new bumper on but it doesn't look quite right - I can't tell if it's a bad fit or the wrong bumper . I think the side of the bumper should stick out a fraction passed the wheel arch, but on my car, it's now recessed further inward than it used to be. There's also a little kind of pattern (for want of a better description) on the top part of the bumper near where it meets the wheel arch and I can't remember whether it had this on my old bumper. I realise some pics may be helpful but my camera's knacked. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Andy
  5. Yeah, that's right, n/s fog light and also o/s number plate light. Shouldn't be a problem hopefully, as they're are pretty alright guys (and very efficient!), so it's probably just an oversight on their part. I agree, having only 1 rear fog is a proper corner cutter on VW's part!
  6. Cheers dudes. Trip to the MOT station next week to explain...!
  7. Hi all The C has failed its MOT. Booo! But only on a reg plate bulb & a rear fog light. Woo-hoo! So it's the cheapest MOT ever! Now, when I've come to replace the rear fog light bulb (passenger side) there wasn't a bulb there, so I chucked on in. I then went to put the bulb unit back in the housing and there's no hole in which to place the new bulb. Is this normal on a late VR to have only one rear fog light? Cheers
  8. That's now my Desktop background! From http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com: CNN was originally created as the "Chuck Norris Network" to update Americans with on-the-spot a** kicking in real-time.
  9. You're exactly correct! The autobox is a bit of a pain in the a**! You have to know how to 'drive' it to get it to change up gears. It's great on the motorway though, extremely comfy!
  10. My other ride is a '72 Cortina XL Auto which my girlfriend has now claimed as her own! It's not quite as quick as the Corrado though...
  11. Same thing happened on mine- ABS going of under light braking... Not sure how to describe it exactly cos I'm not technically minded but there's a ring (or something like) on the hub (or at least some bit near the wheel..) that if it has a crack in it, will cause the ABS to go off. We finally got to the bottom of this problem after new ABS sensors & replacement pump were fitted which didn't fix the problem! Good luck!
  12. That's excellent! Thanks v muchly for the help, won't look like so much of an eejit at the parts desk now! Cheers
  13. Nice one, will do. So I don't look like a d*ck at the parts place, will I need to get the top mount kit, or bearings or just the mounts themselves and is that x4? Cheers
  14. Booked my car in with the local mechanic to get the top mounts and ball joints done, so I said i'd get the parts to save him a job. Now, i've been on GSF and Eurocar parts and there seems to be a price difference and was just wondering if anyone new what the difference actually was. I'm a bit green when it comes to mechanicals so please be gentle! I'm assuming I need 2 ball joints and 4 top mounts? So will I need 4 x Strut Top Mounting Kit or just the top mounts themselves. Do i need to get the Strut Top Bearings too? Also, I'm assuming the difference in price means difference in quality, so am I better going for the more expensive mounts (made by LEMFOERDER) at about 9 quid each, or the cheaper ones for a fiver? Any help would be great Cheers Andy
  15. Thanks for all the help guys. Reckon i'll have to nip down to the mechanics with it now as it doesn't sound like it can be fixed with a big hammer! Cheers
