    20v. head

hey guys more dumb questions, does a vw 20 v head (1.8 turbo)fit on the older 1.8/2.0 blocks(90-92)?if you need to modify ,what needs doing?
  4. thanx for the reply the car is going to be forced induction with a big turbo(maybe too big te-66 with an ar/63 exaust housing  )the reason i ask for reliability is because i plan on driving the car everyday,i olso own a buick grand national wich i was olso going to buy a stroker kit for but all the vendors told me the same thing.you will destroy the parts if you drive it everyday.even though they are far stronger than stock you will break something sooner or later.they are'nt meant to be used on daily driven cars.thats why i asked.i dont know if the VW counterparts are meant to be used the same way(track only).. any advice will be wellcomed..olso wich kit is best and what company sells them.. the tranny came off a bi-turbo audi tt quattro 1.8 .. 5 thousand miles..my friend works at the audi dealership i get his cost (free).
  5. hello everyone ..me again, time to get some opinions, my question is as follows, if i were to stroke my motor (2.0) to a 2.2 how streetable will it still be? meaning if i were to replace the crank ,rods ,pistons and overbore the motor.would i still be able to drive my car to work/play everyday.or are the parts only race intended,(meant only for the track)..? i dont really care about the car idleing rough or the motor vibrating a little i'm used to that on my other cars.my interests lie in wear and tear..how much would all the aftermarket components in the motor suffer compared to the stock VW components?it would suck to spend alllllllllllllll that money to only be able to drive it on the weekends and only around the block  thanks for any advice...........
  6. ok let me rephrase the question do manual (tranny)g60's have extra sensor on throttlebody or are they only on automatic g60's please help me im going nuts with this extra sensor :?
  7. yes i saw the two micro switches i have the plug for those. the one i'm talkin bout is the big one in the bottom of the trottle body its got 3 wires .where in the computer do they go conected?
  8. ok i'm installing the g-60 harrness in my vw gti (90) the main g-60 harness didnt come with the plug that goes on the bottom of the throttle body the one with 3 pins. is that nessesary or will the car run like crap without it.the harness was not cut so if it has to be there where is it? ok i got the plug from a friend but dont know where it goes connected in the ecu.i think the piece that it goes to might be the throtle position sensor dont know much about corrados any help would be appreciated or if the piece has a different name i would love to know it.diagram ,schematics, anything HELP HELP HELP
  9. will i need to replace my fuel pump when going to g-60 specs from 16 valves?????or can i just leave the 16v pump in and forget about it
  10. hey Paul1 wutz up? the compresion on the block is still factory.i know,i know its too high.but i want to get things running first and then when i get everything working the way i want it i'll go crazy on the motor(pistons, rods, stroke it, head work, blah, blah, blah).the diff i aquiered was an audi's 4000 cs quattro.if that dont work 4 me i'll just use the tt rear. as for the computer question.when u mean remapped u mean a chip or what?sorry for sounding dumb but all i've owned all my life were american cars..
  11. i guess no one here knows?
  12. First of hi :D i'm a newb. i'm new to the vw scene but know my way around cars fairly well.. my car is a 91 vw GTI 16v. 2.0 with the corrado g-60 blower and brackets. it's got an audi tt 6speed awd tranny and im finishing up the rearend swap provably this weekend but back to the question.the computer and harness i got came out of an automatic g-60 my car is not automatic will this effect performance or driveability in any way?will i need to get a new computer?please any help would be appreciated .. oh did i forget to mention i only paid $500 bucks for the car(minus tranny, rear and g-60 stuff)and its in mint condition with 65,000 original miles on the odometer i knew the owner a while back. the car had been sitting in his garage 4 like 8 years, you can allready imagine the kind of vacation he's on.wont be back 4 six more.oh well lucky me.
