  1. For sale is my pride and joy for the last 8 years: a 1991 Volkswagen Corrado G60 in its rare original colour - Nugget Yellow (I believe 1 of only 24 in the UK originally). This car has a huge spec (see below) and has had no expenses spared on it for the last 8 years - I have a folder full of receipts and all the original documentation with the car (see pics). The car is in great condition - it looks virtually new after having a full respray (including engine bay) a few years ago and has been kept in dry storage since. The modifications on the car make it seriously fast in a car that weighs 1100Kg, the 6 speed short ratio box and LSD really make a huge difference to other 1.8T swapped cars. It has shown up a lot of highly regarded cars over the years! It has covered 172,000 miles but has had every part overhauled over its lifetime so no need to worry about the mileage. The car has appeared in several magazines in its lifetime, I have copies of 3 magazines in which it has had full features (see pics). The car has had carefully selected modifications carried out to compliment and improve the car without compromising the cars appeal. All the work has been carried out by myself (a professional engineer) to the highest standards - every component changed has resulted in all surrounding parts being refurbished/replaced and rust prevention work carried out. This includes having the rear axle, brackets, front subframes, anti-roll bars etc. powder coated, bushes replaced, copper brake pipes replaced and bodywork in which they attached to repainted and seam sealered etc. Modifications: BAM code 1.8T engine from Audi TT running ~250BHP (rebuilt and remapped around 1000 miles ago) K04 turbo rebuilt around 15,000 miles ago DTA engine management with Greddy 2 stage boost controller 6 speed gearbox from Audi TT Wavetrac LSD (amazing!) Brembo front calipers from Porsche boxster with 305mm drilled and grooved discs Koni coilover suspension - height and damping adjustable Eibach anti-roll bars front and rear (powdercoated yellow) Polybushed rear beam Front mount intercooler JP cone filter Forge intake pipe Forge recirculating valve QPeng downpipe Custom exhaust Braided brake lines Powdercoated subframes and rear axle AEM AFR meter Rota lightweight wheels Audi TT wiper arms The car comes with all service /wear and tear items replaced within the last 15,000 miles for absolute peace of mind: Brand new single mass flywheel, clutch and release bearing fitted and oil service carried out this month Gearbox/diff oil Water pump (metal impeller) Cam timing belt All engine gaskets/seals, stem seals etc. Aux belt All bushes front and rear 4 Toyo T1R tyres Standard Features (all working perfectly): Heated electric mirrors Heated rear screen Electric windows Electric sunroof - tilt and slide Electric spoiler Trip computer Standard interior in great condition including the front seat bolsters (see pics) The only bad parts are one of the wheels is curbed and the front jacking points aren't in great shape but does not affect the structure of the car and I don't use these points to jack on anyway (was like it when I bought it). Take this rare opportunity to own an appreciating classic in fantastic condition with £1000's spent on it in time for show/track season and save yourself the money/hassle/heartache that I have to produce it! The car comes with a years MOT. £7500ono For any more information Please call Andy on 07854805618. The car is located in Essex with great transport links to train lines and Stansted/Southend airports.
  2. lol thanks for the replies, but i also couldnt find which fuse it was!!! at least its a start with knowing the sunroof is on the same fuse. i dunno if the sunroof is affected as the cable on thats been broken for a while now too! having 2 corrados is no good, one gets all the attention :(
  3. i have used the search for an hour now and cant find anything, which i am very surprised about. My spoiler has stopped working, it is neither up nor down. (brings back childhood) i cannot find the wiring diagram for it in the bentley manual. it doesnt work on the button either. so is there a definitive answer to this or does anyone have a wiring diagram so i can get started with the multimeter? thanks
  4. From TPS? whats TPS? i wouldnt mind spending the £20- on it but thought £41 plus vat was rediculous. thanks for the info. i managed to get it all off, waterpump changed, gave the engine a little freshen up and everything but the chargers back on. thought id change the small charger belt while its off. what a big job just for the water pump!!
  5. ok so i have decided to change the water pump on my g60 (much more effort than i originally thought, why oh why didnt i do it when i had the charger out?!) and noticed the bearings in the idler pulley (not the one on tensioner) just below the charger are screwed, so thought id nip down to VW and order one, £41 PLUS VAT for a idler pulley!!! does anyone know if the 16v one is the same or compatible as these are readily available and the g60 one is not even listed on the vw computers!! g60 part no 078 903 341 j 16v part no 028 145 278 thanks
  6. i havent made a proper set of brackets yet but made a mock up one and im pretty sure itd need some pretty big spacers. Did u make the brackets or were u lucky enough to get some ibiza ones? Im havin a little trouble atm with money to buy the stuff and with modifying the cad drawing for the brackets atm so im not sure when ill be getting them on, which is a shame cos the pads on my old brakes are getting low! Thanks for the compliments. I think the car wud look much better 10 - 15mm lower, if it makes it handle rubbish tho ill wind it bal up, its on koni coilies =D
  7. ul love this or hate this: to this: theyre polished (took many many hours to do!!!) with metallic grey inner bits. but they flip to grey spec at most angles: i want to lower it a bit more, its got arch gap, which isnt good! and its gotta go wider too to enable the brakes to be fitted which are sitting under my bed atm!!! so shud look good. and stop well!!! how are you finding the 305s? isnt the offset stamped on the inside of the wheel?
  8. cool thanks, number on the wheels is 75730 so must be 30mm offset. The brakes im using are porsche 4pots from a boxter with the 305 ibiza discs. Ill have to measure how much space i need to create when ive got the brackets made up, how much wud u want for the spacers? Is it a set of 2or 4? As ur a borbet c whore ill post up a pic later of mine, i think ul like em! I have some 10mm longer bolts, dont worry ill be safe, hubcentric and longer bolts! Thanks
  9. thanks for the replies. well as you seem to not notice adverse handling it should be ok, i dont want to ruin a really good setup, obviously i know the camber and tracking will have to be re-set, thats no probs, i was just thinking about as the wheels turn, the position of them will be different to standard as they are further from the pivot points. my wheels are 17x7.5 borbet C's and i think the offset is 35. so am i right in thinking my offset will become 20 if i use 15mm spacers? my wheels will come out further, i am sourcing some later spec front end stuff at the moment, probably have to flare those a little too. did you space the rears aswell? thanks
  10. no1? Someone must have 15mm spacers on their c? Thanks
  11. i was looking to fitting porsche brakes (i started getting the parts) but i have now been thinking about spacing. my wheels will need changing or spacing and im not changing them after spending forever polishing them, so i gotta space em probably about 15mm and do arch work to allow for this. my problem is the way spacing will affect the handling. surely its gonna put all the steering geometry out and corner funny? i love the way the car handles at the mo and if it gets worse itd be a no no to the brakes as i cant reverse the arch work as id space the rear and pull the rears too. i would like some feedback from people who have got wide spacers on their C and preferably with track experience with it to define the real difference in handling. thanks :)
  12. dam if i had 5 stud id have those off you!!!! i had 15" borbet a's on mine with 45 tyres and it was well decked!!! scraped on everythin, got my 17s on and now i miss the scraping!!! hence going lower. luckily my sump has a good clearance. i just muller the front splitter.
  13. i could well be doing some more lowering and arch pulling soon so will drop in a pic when thats siting pretty!!! das golf ur car is lookingsweet. loving the wheels too, unusual on a c.
  14. sorry to hi-jack a little, but my temp gauge reads low? has done since its been in i think, i changed the gauge to see if it was that cos i had a spare lying around but it wasnt that. anyone have any ideas as to what resistances/voltages should be present from the temp sender at any point? and where do people usually put the resistor? thanks
  15. are they 305mm discs ur using?
