Having a few problems on my 1994 VR. on 90k miles Started stalling a week ago at junctions and when changing gear the revs would fall so fast it would cut out if you didnt change quick enough. Changed the plugs which made the car run better but would still cut out as above. Changed the ignition leads but it made no difference so took them back off as they were really bad quality and put my old ones back on. Unplugged the idle valve and this stopped it stalling so replaced the idle valve and this has stopped the revs falling so quick and can now be driven normally except now at idle it has a slight misfire and can sometimes still stall at junctions but nowhere near as bad as before. Also the idle speed is a little low. Had the car hooked up to VAG COM tonight and it threw up the fault code from when i had the valve unplugged but nothing else apart from that. Cleared the fault code a re ran the car and it never came back. The ignition leads i put back on the car are about 16 months old and were from ECP so 'quite' good quality. What is the next port of call to check? I was thinking either the leads need replacing or one is not on quite right which would cause the slight misfire, low idle speed and occasional stall. A few friends who have had VR's say they go through ignition leads at a yearly rate? Apart from this the car flies and pulls really strong with no misfires apart from at idle. Sorry to be long winded but its doing my head in now. Any help would be great!!! Thanks

Been looking at these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HID-Xenon-Convers ... dZViewItem Has anybody tried them rather than upgrade the loom? Any thoughts ?
-
Has anybody found a supplier for the loom upgrades ? Really need one and can only fint the crap that is on ebay.
-
yeah they go for £70-100 ish usually, hence the budget solution above. I'll give you £20 for them.....lol I might dig them out then and put them up for sale. Cant be bothered with postage though. That why i have not sold them up till now.

Are the original roof bars worth anything? I have a set in the garage at home that i am never going to use.

Ive had a search on here but cant seem to find an answer. I have come to fit the rear bushes but the ones i have been sent are far too small. The ones i have are part no PFR85-207 VW GOLF MK2-3 4 stud axle. Since my car is a 94 VR6 i take it i have been sent the wrong ones? and that all corrado rear bushes are not the same? I looked on the powerflex website but they only list this part for all corrados. Which part number do i need? Thanks Ps what a nightmare to do!!!!

No great change in handling after lowering it. I can feel a difference but the camber needs sorting on the front. (If anybody knows anywhere good in Co. Durham area?????) The rear axle bushes are pretty shot aswell so im replacing the whole lot while i am on. I think that will change the handling quite a bit. I just hated the stance as standard and cant believe they are that high from the factory. I have dropped it about 70mm so not mega low. It just say catches the front splitter getting into the car park at work so i cant really go lower.

Ive ordered a new thermostat from V.W today. I cant think of anything else it could be. Can anybody tell me where it is on the engine? Thanks

Should the water temp be higher than the oil temp as the engine is warming up?
-
The car has suddenly started taking ages to warm up. By the time i get to work which takes about 15 mins the water temp is only on 70 and the oil temp is on about 80. Does this sound about right as it used to be at running temp of about 90 by the time i got to work. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance.

I put the leads on and they were fine. The only thing was that they were slightly longer but managed to tidy it up. The plug end connectors were ok but needed slightly more pressure to get them to 'click' on. Thanks for the help.

Are the leads the same on a distibutor setup and a coil pack setup the same? All i can see thats different is a slight difference in length. Would it be ok to use distributor set up leads on the coil pack setup? Thanks

My car is currently cutting out at junctions after putting the clutch in with 4kish revs. If you pull up slowly and let the revs drop off to 1.5kish then put the clutch in it doesnt cut out. Would this be the idle control valve not catching it and stopping the engine stalling from high revs? If so what is the remedy? Clean the valve? If so is it under the plastic ht lead cover? Any tips on cleaning it? I have had a search and couldnt find anything. Thanks

By the way the police didnt take kindly to the german style plates and i got a 14 day fix it notice.

Ive been registered on here a few months now after signing up in my quest to find a corrado 2.0 16v. I was wanting something quite economical for a daily drive with low milage and as late a model as possible. After much searching and not only on this site drew a blank, I decided it would be easier to find a low milage VR6 instead. This in itself was no easy task as it was aproaching christmas and i wanted something that had been well looked after. I had already sold my other daily drive, a 206 GTI, shamefull i know but it never let me down and was quite enjoying to drive. Ive had a few Mk1 Golfs and wanted to return to the 'Dubs and wanted something different so i settled for the corrado which i have always had the 'horn' for anyway. Anyway i managed to find a good example on this site, located in NW Wales so on xmas eve me and a friend drove down, from Co. Durham, had a look so i did the only decent thing i could do and bought it. Well here it is: 1994 'M' VR6 80,000 Miles Full VW service history (except 1 vw specialist service) Black heated leather Magnex SS cat back exhaust K&N Cone filter BBS RK2 17" Wheels (For sale) Standard Speedline Wheels Sony minidisc headunit and 10cd autochanger 6x9 speakers in parcel shelf(to be removed) The rest is completely standard. Ive since replaced cracked front fogs with brand new items including indicators to compliment. Most of the badges are now black. Just need Crrado and VR6 spraying when weather permitts. Later plans are suspension and bush upgrades and some wheels (yet to be decided) Anyway heres some pics a mate took while experimenting with his new camera. Ive resized but dont know how they will look. Thanks for looking and any comments welcome.

Just new to this forum and need help with buying my first Corrado Ive seen a '95 VR6 fror sale for £3700 with 95k miles Just acouple of questions 1. The service book has 9 stamps which sounds ok for the year/milage but should i look for anything being done inparticular for this year and milage? i.e belts, chains, gaskets etc? 2. It is for sale with a corrado 'specialist' called 'The Corrado Specialist' or TCS which the phone area code based in Tamworth near Birmingham. Has anybody heard of these/had dealings with and have any comments? 3. I know its hard to tell from a photo but does this seem about the right price that these cars go for? I was unsure of the colour being origional described as 'Twilight Violet Pearl' but have looked on the guide and there is one listed with the paint codes. Also it has Karmann black interior (trying to find out if its leather as it does not state in the advert). Any help is much appreciated as the car will be a daily driver so i dont need to have any major issues to keep it off the road. And i will have to travel to view the car. Here is a pic of the car and it doesnt look too bad. Thanks in advance http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o200 ... orrado.jpg
