read this before filling up on s/market petrol!!
GsixT replied to dazzyvr6's topic in General Car Chat
Where has this info come from and how reliable is it? I mean just one guy telling us where to and not to buy petrol from. Its all over the forums too. -
The way you have done yours bigger ben looks as though you dont need to have modified the bumper as most of the intercooler is in line with th egrille area...is this the case?
-
I think that corrado looks terrible  I like the original exterior styling in places, and yeah the seats and dials. Everything else is just too ricey

Hi henny, im a little confused by the above... do you mean that 1) When one turns the ignition to just before ready to flick to turn engine an LED/light symbol should alight within the clock area of the dash to indicate the lights are on period? Or sidelights? Or dipped? 2)The light switch itself lights up green you mean? Only on sidelights? Sorry I think im saying can you rewrite the above  im sorry to sound pedantic but I genuinely dont get what you mean....more likely to be me i feel! Thanks for your help tho

Thanks very much that man very helpful! :D

Gazzag60 you have been running your charger with a 65 for 35,000? Or you mean your charger has not been rebuilt for 35,000 and you added the 65mm more recently?
-
65 vs 68 1: How much more soon would one have to have a charger rebuild running a 65mm pully over a 68mm one? How much extra torque and bhp can one expect swapping a 68 for a 65? Not sure why everyone doesnt just run 65 if it gives higher boost - must be durability? 2: What benefit does a toothed belt kit actually give (other than sound!) ? Will it give extra power and torque at all? Are they just to cure belt slip and provide better boost higher up in the rpms? 3: What should one redline a g60 at with each size pullys on and can one put a rev limiter for safety on at where one needs to shift by on say a 65 or radically small pully? 8)

So guys are the other two badges on the rear double sided tape or not? :-P cheers Also, any ideas on the earlier bonnet and early grille fitting a later spec corrado g60?
-
ok that taillight guide looks great im sure will be fine. But where do you get this "nightshade" and "clearcoat" stuff from etc? Cheers 8)
-
Err which one then? Double sided tape or pins? All badges with pins? Only some? No this car is a late spec G60 with the vr (bulged) stlye bonnet (as standard) and wants to put an inner recess (Early) one on. Thanks for the thread regarding the tail tint lights. Looks helpful. Will pass it on. Thanks so far guys
-
On behalf of a mate... Where can one get some tinted lights like the below: (or is this a DIY tint the top half of original lights jobbie..is there a thread on this anywhere or guide and what materials needed?) Also, where can one get a multislat grille (one with most slats like on early g60s) with a BLACK vw badge on front of it not a chrome one. Or does this come with it? Do the rear badges on corrado pull off or are they stuck on with pins through the body work? Finally, will an early multi slat grille and early stlye recessed bonnet fit a later spec corrado - will it bolt straight on?

Some belated Inters pics of the corrado variety for you all
GsixT replied to GsixT's topic in General Car Chat
I can only dream of press passes at such events! Im not sure how you get hold of one tbh. No, those pics were just taken by me standing on what they called "bins" (big wooden skip like containers). I was on crutches at the time so had to get mates to help me up! Looked like a right plum but was worth it for the view and beign able to get shots with no silly fence in the pic. Only trouble we were right down where they were reaching high speed and getting a good shot that was in frame and not blurred whilst not being able to stand properly (some idiots were rocking the fence) was quite hard. I quite like the below one too: What was the fastest corrado of the Inters weekend then? -
Hmm....not sure really. I quite like the single wiper look. Anyone else?

Some belated Inters pics of the corrado variety for you all
GsixT replied to GsixT's topic in General Car Chat
Doh! Forgot about those ones must have missed them. Dont mind at all mate. Will get back to those that have asked for high res ones asap. So pushed for time at the moment my apologies. -
OK this is a long thread and ive not got the time to read ALL of it. have skim read parts. I basically want to know if anybody has performed a SINGLE WIPER modification to their corrado and still have it wash wipe and perform intermittant and all speeds and feel standard? Regards

Some belated Inters pics of the corrado variety for you all
GsixT posted a topic in General Car Chat
Sorry for the poor quality. They look much MUCH nicer high res and very sharp. Much sharper than the below as jpeg compression is ruining my lovely post processed edited pics! You get the jist though. Sorry if they have all been seen before. PLEASE ASK ME IF YOU WANT ANY HIGH RES ONES and/or If you want to take any of the below ones PLEASE ASK ME before doing anything with them. LAst inters a certain other forum "stole" all my online pictures and embedded their own watermarks int hem and passed them all off as their own work! Wouldnt have minded if it were a couple but was half my pics in their collection! Cheers -
BACK FROM THE RESPRA!! MAN THERE QUICK!!! G60DAN STYLE
GsixT replied to chris CORRADO's topic in Exterior
Did I read correctly above that you got type K to respray our car fully for £800 !? I went there for a quote and they wanted 2.5k + and that wasnt even full respray. Whats that all about? -
I keep seeing some for sale with out ABS listed. Some claim they definitely DO NOT have ABS. Which registrations are these if at all then and year? Many thanks for any help

REMOVING BOOST RETURN PIPES AND FITTING CONE FILTER IN WING?
GsixT replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
I dont expect that...im just not sure im understanding the benefit if boost levels are not increasing? I can understand the benefit is to get MORE DENSE COLD air in the charger, but in turn would this not equate to more boost levels and hence power? Sorry for the confusion. -
REMOVING BOOST RETURN PIPES AND FITTING CONE FILTER IN WING?
GsixT replied to brookescourt's topic in Engine Bay
Interesting thread this. Im a bit of a newbie to G60s and was doing a search and found this. Has anybody overcome the dual intake/lowered radiator/front mount intercooler thing yet? Also, in running a dual intake with stage 4 charger say, would this not create even higher boost levels? Just wondering if it could mean the difference between running say 14psi before dual inlet and 16/17 after hence the need for red tops. Thats my only concern. How much work is it to move the radiator down then? -
Yes its very stiff and does really get into corners well despite what one would think. Does really hold the road well. Torque steer is shocking. Yes it did bump steer and move about loads under braking. Its an undriveable car in the wet when you want to go fast - I understand it has high power and is fwd but it really is scarily bad. Gear change is great. Looks slightly camp but it is really good for the driver. I wonder if my friends has a problem, as in comparison to your above experience, his must be the peakiest of peaky cars! I mean the power band is a mere 2.5k useable revs from the redline back down basically.
-
I disagree. I think they sound really raw and a nice throaty growl. I don't know if youve ever driven one either but they benefit from being revved. Despite what it says on paper (too many people are drawn to paper stats) although it says peak torque is at 5.9k this is only at the start of where the Vtech kicks in and it keeps pulling very hard right up to the redline. You really have to keep them in the zone and right up there high revving to get the best out of them, hence why people are close to the red when trying to make swift progress. Ok you have driven one! :D Agree a standard civic will dust a standard g60. But then the civic has 200bhp and develops peak torque high in the rev range benefiting from its high ratio 6 speed gearbox and revs to buggery. So llong as you can drive them proerly and get a chance to rev them and put the power down, they will go fast the ctrs. They are thrashy! There is NOTHING low down until the v tech kicks in imo. Its the most annoying car to drive fast. Give me a nice big torque figure that pulls well in any gear anyday, over a thrashy drop two cogs and change gear loads to make progress CTR. If you floor a ctr in say 4th at 30mph your waiting an age for the car to move with any urgency..its almost like waiting for the worlds biggest turbo to spool up. For a track day yeah, but I personally cant see the appeal for a daily driver. Also, a VR6 corrado WILL keep up. Theres nothing in it. Its all down to the driver on the day when its that close. Agree since this would put it within a much more even power contest, despite the fact power is majorly overated. K

This is it. If I had the money Id keep a mk1 and a corrado. Are the love of the non plausable ideal world :) Age is against the mk1 and finding good examples now is very hard. I dont like basing a project on something uncertain chassis and base wise. This is why i feel I would enjoy a more modern corrado as every mod I do I wouldnt have to worry that something else was going to fall off etc hehe  Id like to go crossflow on a corrado g60. If only I had the money...how much are we talking for a crossflow setup and what sort of power levels can be expected (with the g ladder attached) ?
-
Guys stop it! Im meant to be getting rid of my mk1 this isnt helping! No as much as I love the old mk1s the time has come fo rme to upgrade to bigger better things...a corrado namely. The mk1 is great to own and drive yes, but on just the slightest practicality note it sucks for daily driving and enjoyment as an all round car. The mk1 for me is all about th ego I agree, and I dont get a chance to use JUST that anymore. Im not getting THAt old whoever said that  I do have a family to consider though, and the thought of a stripped out mk1 racer (which I have oh so contemplated for long enough now!) doenst come high on the list for all round practicality. The corrado is helpfully quick and refined enough and just about practical enough to get away with buying 8) cunning. So come on...lets hear some more corrado positives  I have a mate thats swears by the fact that even the 8 valve basic corrado handles better than mk1 or 2 golfs. PS: nice mk1 above. That was th eplan for mine for ages. Are you running an LSD with it?
