so i picked up the corrado on monday, and was told by the old owner that there was a hesitation below 2k if you put your foot down in 3rd, 4th or 5th. This was true, but the feeling is in any gear now, and it smooths out a bit, but generally doesn't run as smoothly as i think it should, the idle is slightly lumpy too now, the revs dont fluctuate, but there's a bit more movement in the car when you sit there at idle, might be me just being paranoid. he ordered a new throttle position sensor, but having read up on a couple of things on here and the VR6oc forum, i think it may be one of the following: Cam Sensor MAF the leads are in good nick and the coilpack looks to be sound aswell. the car is an OBD1 VR6, but it was converted to this, it was originally a 16v. Is there anyway to scan the engine for codes? or with corrados is it a case of ruling out everything by replacing it? I'll try and get a video of how it runs / idles, tomorrow, that should help out Cheers Chris

so it's been a while since i signed up on here, and i swapped my mk3 gti for this beauty on monday :D, FINALLY scratched my corrado itch and it's AWESOME, the spoiler, the noise, the looks, I LOVE IT: pics for now: needs a machine polish all over tbh, and a front splitter, then i'll be happy with the outside main bit of love is the interior, needs new doorcards, which i'm on the case already :) (corradophil) and then the dashboard / heating needs sorting out, currently the heating is boiling all the time, and the controls dont really change anything, temperature, or which vents it comes out of. one thing i've noticed is that with the above heating issue, the faster i drive, the hotter the air comes out of the vents, making a motorway journey VERY hot for my legs :( anyway i'll be on here all the time now, looking for ideas etc Cheers Chris

where can u get these kits from?
-
whats the rough price for the cam kits, and what brandsdo you reccomend, i've looked at schrick (£600) and newman, but they dont do one for the raddo engines. Are the engines the same as those in the mk2 / 3 golf gtis? didnt think you can get a chip for a raddo? 4 branch will be one of the 1st things ordered tho Chris

how hard is it to change the gearbox on a 1.8 16v, theres some play in the diff and just wondered how hard / how long it would take to do by myself, or is it better to get someone else to do it cheers Chris

cheers that was helpful, trying to make my mind up, so a 2.0l with a decat would be quicker than the 1.8 in lamens terms

i've heard the 2.0 16v raddo is slower than the 1.8 16v, also what is the bhp of the 2.0 i know the 1.8 is aroudn the 134bhp mark, just that i went to no-rice last nite and sat in a mates raddo and it was such an improvement over my polo. Also how how easy are they to tune - Cams etc hope i dont annoy anyone by bieng this much of an amateur

i'm new to this, and dont have a corrado at the moment but i'm planning for the car. How low have you gone and you got any pics to look at? does 40mm lowering make a difference. Also are Supersport Coilies ok? Cheers Chris
