  1. Jeez, confusing with two threads on the same subject. Well that proves your crank sensor is fine. If you have spark then crank sensor is working perfectly. Change the FPR or look at your plugs see if any are flooded with fuel after you've left the car standing a while. Sounds like fuel supply probs, as you say.[/quote:395dz46k] lol we'll use this thread from now on :) . im sure the pumps good, its from a 80k 16v. injectors may need a clean but ive checked they squirt ok, plugs all spark as they should, FPR is the last thing to check i guess for this type of starting issue. is it something that generally goes after awhile?
  2. ive replaced the fuel pump + filter etc, given it a good run around but still experiencing the delayed fire up after afew minutes of running it, hot or cold. do we suspect the crank sensor? just posted a wanted ad up for a good condition one but been told in that 'they either work or they dont'. not sure what to think. its got to be fuel related, just seem to me fuels not being let through quick enough (a few drops of fuel down the plug holes and it fires instantly as expected)
  3. get some spinige down you dude, you be fine :)
  4. socket, mole grips to tightly hold the socket so you can turn it, allen key, and pliers to turn the allen key. thatll sort you out, its how ive done all my vw's suspension. chris
  5. you having trouble with the nuts holding the old suspension & top mounts on dude? forgive me if im reading this wrong, im pretty hung over :pukeright:
  6. welcome back. the c looks awesome with those whees on. dunno if you remember me, i had your old smoothed front bumper off you and a door glass. really regreted not buying the old rado shell off you at the time. anyway good luck with it. chris
  7. as title states, ill be replacing it soon and thought ford maybe cheaper than vw if the sensors are in fact the same. also assuming that the plug end is the same as the vw one.... chris
  8. hi, does anybody know where to get these from? ive seen one on ARZ-tuning http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/advanced_search_result.php?MSsid=26e411169d1986db1dfbe6cb5aed4484&keywords=blinker+assist just wondering if you can get them cheaper, couldnt find any on ebay as i dont really know what they are refered to as. its the device that makes your indicator flash 3 times when you touch the stork, rather than having to click it down.

    how nice?

not at all, it looks sweet as
  10. cheers mate, i used adaptors for the audi wheels as i didnt have any 4 stud 15's at the time to fit the vr brakes
  11. thank you! just back from corfu this morning rm's are on but no pics yet, its getting taxed n insured this week so ill post some up soon with the new leather interior too.
  12. it shouldnt make too much of a difference bleeding the brake though should it? just bleed the clutch first....
  13. thats ok, i should have checked them anyway but slipped my mind. just bled my friends mk2 jetta yesterday, he doesnt have a bleed nipple on the MC (nor did my old mk2 scirocco) doing it through the calipers will be fine. easier with 2 people though :) good luck
  14. you shouldnt need the MC nipple as youll be able to bleed it all through the calipers alone. chewed up bleed nipples would have been one of the prev owners before me, my apologies as i didnt notice them :)
  15. cheap + 2 year warranty! im using these at the mo and they are real value for money. i think they ride really well. afew of my friends have these on mk2 golfs and there still pretty damn stiff after 2 years of abuse, they havent become sloppy. good luck with them

    Tyre strecth

215's will be fine for the 9's, but for the 8's i'd go for 195's if you want a good streched look, but then you've got to find a company willing to do it for you (incase they damage or stratch the wheels putting them on, some will not accept liability) good luck with them
  17. sneak preview off the rm's
  18. I think the VR6 starts in batch mode because inductive cam sensors don't usually give a strong enough signal when cranking. When the engine is running, the cam sensor kicks in and sequential injection resumes. Both the crank and cam sensors are magnetic (no power supply), so they too can get weak with age. maybe my pump is more f'd than i first thought, it only gives me a very quick prime. i can only hear it prime for about a second. its alway been like that, and thinking about it, the old 2l 16v that use to be in it had the same sort of issues, i just thought it was a crap engine..... ill replace the pump first, if no difference ill try the crank and cam sensors. cheers :salute:
  19. i bought it from Billcor. i saw a scratched up one on ebay awhile back, you dont really see to many of them for sale. ill let you know if i see one though
  20. its an eibach one. havent really driven it that much since finishing it so havent got an answer for that yet. i was just going for the looks to be honest.
  21. and the fact i havent been driving it doesnt really help. cheers guys, makes alot of sense now.
  22. quick question. its not a massive issue but i would like to sort it. when i start the vr from cold the starter motor will turn over for about 5 seconds or so before it fires up. if i turn it off and start it back up again, no problems, itll fire straight away, but, if i leave it for 10mins or so, regardless whether its hot or cold it will take 5seconds or so to fire again. its doesnt ever not start. i no it doesnt sound like much but when it happens to you youll agree it feels alittle too long before it fires. could this be a fuel pressure problem? i know my 16v fuel pumps on its way, it has been buzzing alittle loud recently every now and then? i could be wrong in thinking this, but its the only thing i can think that is slightly wrong with this car. when i first got the engine running a few months ago it started fine, pretty much on the key then i started having this problem. i took the inlet off for polishing a short while ago, when i started it it started fine, but again, the problem came back. any ideas? i dont expect it to start like a new car but it should definately start quicker than this.
  23. cheers guys theres no engine cover on it, just a mirror polished inlet. is that the bit your talking about?
  24. finally bought a proper camera :D
