  1. any joy mate? ive fitted my kr and im getting a lot of gurgling and popping from the engine? do you mind me asking what you work for at the brisih GP?
  2. how can i check the timing sorry if this is basic! i am waiting on the arrival of my passat haynes and am trying to find someone with the pdf of the bentley stuff. i am fairly mechanically minded and willing to learn and tackle stuff so how would i check and alter if necessary the timing
  3. sorry that is misleading i had a garage do the cam and cam belt as im pretty short of time at the moment so am unsure how they did it but was curious as to whether this should sound like this? it gurgles a lot?
  4. i have just fitted a kr inlet, exhaust and de cat on my 2.0 16v and i belive it is timed up correctly but the engine is poping a lot on down rev and when shifting gear and my mate following me said he saw a flame out of my exhaust when changing gear. also at 4000rpm in 5th it sort of back fires occasionally but not really if you know what i mean!! :? (sort of lurches and drops momentarilly in power but then is fine again). was wondering if this means i havent timed it properly or does it just need a good rolling road session? also can anyone recomend a good rolling road in cheshire or stourbridge area? thanks :D
  5. lol many thanks i will have a go as soon as i can and let you know also if my sunroof is leaking when it is closed it needs a new seal is this easy or a long job?
  6. cheers guys. will take it to VW tomorrow cos i know that will be the most expensive and then a few smaller ones and then go back to them with the quotes. really frustrated, will check the boot now hopefully its all fine and i can just bill them or their insurance company for the repair

  8. i think my problem sounds identicaly to yours actually maybe im just not as good with the old english language. mine used to stealthly stall like yours but hasnt dont that recently it just decides to have no power. i have taken my ISV off just now and left it soaking!

  12. i have an early valver with a working sunroof and my sunroof on my late valver does not slide and decides to move up half an inch when i lock the car?????? can i swap the sunroofs over? is this easy between late and early models? what do i need to do? thanks

  14. here are some photos of the 1.8 16v with vr brakes. it doesnt look like there are adaptors and The've even got the ABS speed sensors built in?
  15. i have a 2.0 16v and occasionally it randomly has no power. it ticks over fine and around 200o rpm it just starts to reduce to tick over. it doesnt stall or struggle or backfire, it sort of sputter slightly but its as if 3 of the injectors have stopped momentarily and the revs just come down slowly. if i turn the engine of it sometimes occurs again but normally turning the engine off 2 or 3 times sorts it and its fine? is this an ecu issue or like a recirculating valve issue or sensor or what? thanks
  16. if my valver is 4 stud and the other valver now has 5 stud is this a problem? i was under the impression i would have to change the hubs n all????
  17. got a 1.8 16v with vr6 discs and hubs etc and am looking to put them on my 2.0 16v which is 4 stud. is this a fairly easy job that can be done in a weekend or more complicated? also will i need to replace any parts when undertaking this change? i was thinking of changing the suspension at the same time aswell as i thought it would be easier???? has anyone got a guide or walkthrough available? cheers
  18. yeah sorry not to clarify it is the exhaust manifold. i was under the impression that the engine bay etc were similar and they were similar shapes with no pumps or stuff blocking them. not to worried about the cat but having to fabricate it in rather than bolting it in i can see being an issue in 12months and no doubt ill regret the decision!!

  20. The paint looks absolutely amazing! I wanna get mine done. I love the photos with the sunroof up they look sweet like that. you keep your front plate in the dash or behind the sun visor? or is it normally on the car?
