Um, oh dear. It appears my Golf has suffered a slight head gasket failure. It's been using a lot of coolant recently but I thought this was just due to a flange that was weeping. It has always produced a bit of white smoke but has been running ok so put that down to condensation. But yesterday I noticed when I was parking up that it was smoking pretty badly even though it had just had the run to work. You know how after you've spent a lot of time with cars you kind of develope a sixth sense for this kind of thing, well I wasn't at all surprised when I checked the coolant and oil this morning to see both were way down and there was a load of mayo under the filler cap. Also when I took the header cap off the system still had loads of pressure in it despite having been left over night. It ran perfectly the whole way home yesterday so I'm hoping I've caught it before it got too bad. Good thing I've got Sunday and Monday off work!!!! Sad thing is I'm quite looking forward to doing another head gasket. It's fun. :cuckoo: :lol: Good excuse to change the cam belt and other stuff like that also. Don't have a car now though as the Rado is on Classic Car insurance and I'm not covered for commuting and have a limited mileage. Another lift from a rather grumpy Lucy this morning.... :lol:

Don't get me wrong, I agree they do seem to get preferential treatment sometimes which I think spoils it despite being an avid fan. I'd rather they won because they have the best cars and the best drivers. Then it's actually an achievement. Also I want the other teams to do well so it's actually a competition. Bring it on I say. I bet Vettel kicks ass this season. He's someone I'm really looking forward to following this year.

Yes and no...a championship should be about overall performances throughout the season rather than how many times you win. If you're in any other position than 2nd, what's the point of racing? A driver could win 4 times but not finish the rest of the races and win the championship (as long as no-one else won more, but lets assume they haven't) whereas another driver could come could win 3, come second in every other race and still not be champion. Seems a bit pointless if you ask me. Hmmmm... I see your point. But it's a level playing field. So Hamilton is just going to have to try REALLY hard to win more races than everyone else. And besides you should be happy shouldn't you? Doesn't this now mean that Hamilton can't have points deducted for wearing orange pants and such like?

I feel your pain. I find visibility pretty poor in a Rado tbh. I crashed my old white G60 into my own wall one morning whilst I was half asleep pulling out of our drive. :( :lol: With my new Rado I'm so careful when parking or reversing I drive my girlfriend insane. :lol:

It has been a long winter. But on 29th the clocks change and we will have the first GP. Less than 2 weeks to go! :D

I don't think I'd even mod mine. I'd just completely rebuild it and get it as close to being brand new as possible. I'd just love to know what it was like to drive a brand new Corrado.

I see that all the time. Exactly how cr@p a driver do you have to be to do 40 when it's safe to do 60 and then carry on doing 40 when you get to a 30? Absolutely diabolical.
