Hi, Many thanks for your replies. Just had another look today, and checked the vacuum lines and there doesn't seem to be a leak. The pump only runs when locking the car from the keyfob (with me in the car), but doesn't work unlocking. Im pretty much at a dead end? anyone with any similar probs? Is there a way of getting keys retro-cut to fit the locks (as i havn't the original keys)? many thanks again

Hi, I appriciate this subject has been covered, but searching hasn't really given me a straight answer. Quick rundown - My VR is Alarmfob Entry only (i.e. keys only work in ignition, no key for door or boot), have a Laserline Alarm/Immob. -You guessed it, last week, on alarm/immob disarming the DOOR PINS DON'T POP UP!! :censored: -Replaced c/l PUMP, no joy -Replaced c/l UNIT (by rear bench), no joy -Unplugged door handles, no joy Basically, once i can get in the car and lift the door pins, when i Alarm the car, the DOOR PINS STILL POP DOWN, but NOT UP. Im sorry if this is hastily worded, but i've pretty much explored most possibilities. Have done continuity checks on the pump and all is fine there. The condition of the wires into the door handle seem fine. How can i check the continuity of these without the key? I have gone through the VAG checklist that someone had posted here also, and all was good. Any help would be warmly recieved. Many thanks, ross

On my Corrado GR6 the cooling fan runs shortly after start when the coolant is still cold and remains running, has any-one any ideas what may be causing this?

Hi, My raddo has been sat outside for a week or so, and the battery has died. The pain is the keys i own for the car don't actually open any of the doors or boot... as i have remote central locking :mad2: I need to know if there is a way of being able to pop the bonnet to get to the battery to charge it? Rather urgently also..!! Many, many thanks. Ross

Thanks for the quick replies. I am getting a constant voltage across the live and ground at the headunit connector, which i guess kinda rules out loose connections. My money was kinda on the ignition switch/barrel also. Sometimes you need to 'lift' the key in the ignition barrel when starting it up. Is there a way of fixing the ignition barrel? I know fitting a new one is a ball-ache :? - is this the only way to solve it? Many thanks again, ross

Hi, Am having problems with my aftermarket Pioneer headunit. I've searched the forum, but am still none the wiser :( Basically.. it doesn't work most of the time, only coming on occasionally (random times). Although it beeps occasionally (as a take the face off reminder). I have a K-reg VR6. I've used a voltmeter across the ground and live (red) wire, and it is getting around 12.5v constantly. My first suspisions were it wasn't getting enough power (common problem?!). But suspect it may be this. The car harness doesn't seem to be too hacked into, and am using an ISO connector from that to the headunit. I have used another Sony headunit to check its not a headunit fault, and the Sony one has the same problems - erratic operation. Is there a means of tapping a live feed off the cigarette lighter or the Ashtray light? Or from the battery? How would you safely go about this? Usually the engine noise is enough of a VR6 :D , but am pretty much at the end of my patience trying to sort this out, and I'm usually a pretty chilled person. I took it to the local car stereo stealers, and they couldn't find the problem either  Any help would be much appriciated.

Rich knows his stuff.. does good work... Dont suppose you know Matt Waite.. used to have an Aubergine Edition 1 G60 Golf, with r/h drive conversion, flared arches and BBS's?? Lives/d in Minch... Nah, don't know him- think I may have seen the car around though. Tom who works for Richard has a Golf G60 as well, doesn't he? Yeh, Rich knows his stuff, and is really fair with pricing etc. Good guy. Aint been down saaf for a while, but rich has always done work on my mates cars. Proper sound dude. Dunno Tom personally, but heard his red mark 1 golf was a little bit special. Bought my old mark 1 scirocco from rich incidently, and my 'rents live in horsley. My brother has a J plate Grey G60 'rrado.. dunno if you've seen it about.. Grimmy - your VR looks awesome on that flat bed dude, even more gutted for you mate. All the best. -
