  1. LOL. Yeah it's a ZXI :D Lass who I used to go to school with saw it for the first time and asked if it was one of those rover coupes. I'm actually sneering thinking about it now Mike
  2. I get looks and flashed a lot by corsas and such like, kids on bikes following me out of carparks but at the end of the day it's because your car does look nice. Hopefully nothing like a done up corsa but you get my drift . I'm only 21, but a lot of my attention is from slightly older gents from the generation the motor came from, and that's a nice feeling when they notice :) Mike
  3. take no notice of the VR boys. They're all slightly over the hill with cheaper insurance, receeded hair lines and petrol pump as their surnames (And I still want one!) Mike
  4. LMAO! Thats class :D I think it's sad to see people sell them on really. Mine has caused me nothing but grief for awhile now but I love driving it. I think it's a bit nuts to expect one nower days to be ok for a daily driver (a few are, but they're generally low mileage and well looked after) I hope I won't be joining the ranks. Although mine also gets a short one once a week if it's lucky :/
  5. well back then it wasn't really about crumple zones as much as it is today. VWs are generally built like fecking tanks, so yes I do feel safe in mine. When having a head on at high speed you need luck on your side no matter what you're driving! The only nick I've had in mine was when someone pulled out in to the road whilst I was reversing. clipped the rear bumper at say 5mph. Slight paint rip. The vectras bumper was completely smashed :D. Might help save your life but not yah wallet chap lol Mike
  6. lol I know EXACTLY how you feel. Although it's currently tax'ed MOT'd and insured mine still has some little niggles, and although it's running ok atm I'm pondering whether it's really worth spending out not far short of a grand respraying it or even touch ups when something else mechanical is just around the corner. But as has been said, if I didn't love the car, I wouldn't have it. Jesus I'd never spend out the money I have on anything else tbh. It would of been scrapped long ago :) & lmao @ that thread Mike
  7. ffs, what a moron. Just makes you wonder if it's worth getting attatched to yah motor these days. lol or anything for that matter :/ Mike
  8. 1.8 16v for the same reason as most, finance! I don't think reliability is an issue because every corrado is getting on now, problems are just to be expected :D Valver engines are revvy and torquey for what they are but the VR6 is the one to get. You can't beat the burble of a VR6 engine. EVER Mike
  9. On the way back from work I had one bloke beeped and wave and 2 chaps stuck their thumbs up lol. N' all from a bit of elbow grease :D Mike
  10. aye just need to take it off to get to my alarm guru :D Cheers once again toady Mike
  11. Heya chaps, Right basically I've got a Clifford concept 300 ( I think ) which apparently had been crimped with silly ends which was causing it to not light up the car (or when it felt like it). I had a chap look at it who thought that was the problem so I reckon what he's done is solder it back to the original imobiliser. The problem has pretty much resolved itself but NOW when it's damp and wet the horn just goes off constantly. The pumps prime and everything else is fine but obviously I can't drive it anywhere. Badly insolated cabling somewhere most likely. What I want to know is whats the safest way to disconnect the horn? (and where) Edit: Doh, it's a 1990 Kjet 1.8 16v, and just to clarify I'm talking about the standard horn. Not the annoying high pitched glass shattering evil box of death clifford one Cheers guys Mike
  12. I really like that a lot. Very nicely done mate What are those wheels? Mike
  13. LOL awesome, I almost bought this valver ;D Never went to view it though. Nice to see someone putting it back in form
  14. Right guys, been on here a little while now but thought I'd finally add some pics after some much needed mechanical tuning. Shes running perfect now.
  15. Yarp, The KR engine is pretty thirsty. I use optimax and it will tend to smell rather rich Nothing to worry about
  16. Mine has been doing the same. Once it's got a bit of heat under it though it improves..and sometimes will behave perfect. Most people reckon it's a fueling problem
  17. Er, What the hell! 250 odd BHP out of a 1.8 16v NA IS MADNESS
  18. Mines been pin-pointed to the warm up regulator =)
  19. Ta guys, especially for the screw tip :D Cars almost perfect just need me warm-up reg :)
  20. Hello guys, Simple one: Wheres the cheapest place to buy new body parts (atm I'm talking silly things like the rear numberplate plinth etc)? Cheers, Mike
  21. uh, the ISV was fecked :(. The thing I changed in the beginning was the oil pressure switch, lol doe. it looked fecked anyway however :| BUT it needs a good tune up anyway. Getting it on a machine some point this week. Thanks for the advice peeps
