Bit worried now about the size of the tyre considering i've bought them (still waiting for them to be delivered, bought them off a german boy on ebay??). Are 225 45 gonna be too big? I'm not too fussed about the look just now, but need to wait until next payday to buy new lower profile tyres and to drop her. Will these tyres fit alright for the time being?

Lets get some pictures of different size wheels? I don't want the arches jammed but a good size. Thanks for all the replies btw.

Just noticed a windscreen crack just infront of drivers field of vision, near the bottom of the screen, about 6inch long ends in a chip and star. Anyone know if this means new windscreen or it repairable? How much are corrado screens, they easy to get hold of?

Thinking about getting a set of new wheels for my valver. A set of Borbet (7.5x16 ET 30 with 225/45/ZR tyres) is what i'm looking at but bit worried because of what's said on the forum about 16inch wheels causing more problems than 15s. Do 16's cause that many problems?

Came out of the supermarket the other day to find something hanging out of the rear of my recently purchased 1991 valver. On closer inspection it was a badly rusted sheet about a foot long that was hanging down between the rear bumper and where the fuel tank sits, bit worrying. All the panels and arches seems solid enough, could this be something more seroius? The two metal straps that hold the fuel tank in place are also pretty rusty. There is also a strong smell of petrol in the cab that gets stronger when you accelerate. I only bought the car a few months ago and am beginning to seroiusly worry about the structure.

There's obviously no haynes manual for the corrado but does anyone know of a similar book or even a general book that woud be useful for reference when doing small jobs. An idiots guide to cars??

Was driving down country lanes in proper darkness for first time and realise how poor the headlights are. I see there are replacement headlights on ebay as well as wiring looms (which are what exactly). What's the best (cheapest and easiest) way of improving the headlights? Am I missing the obvious (fitting high performance bulbs)? I don't really have the experience, tools or workspace to carry out anything major (live in second floor flat)

Colour wise I'm going by what the seller told me, looks like it's had a respray at some point but I wouldn't know either way. I've read some threads on this about removing the protectors, they easy to remove? The cars got a fair bit needing done, not sure where to start. Got list a mile long and a limited budget. Think i'm working this tuesday but i'll try and come down to a meet at some point. I might just annoy you with a list of stupid questions.

I have a valver in twilight violet (dark purple) which looks pretty sweet but the side door protectors, sunroof surround and rubber roofbar strips have gone grey which makes it look pretty old. Can you easily colour code the door protectors? Or what's the best back to black product going? Got turtle wax's version but it ran pretty badly last time I used it.

The fuel pump on my 91 valver seems to make a lot of noise when running and there's quite a strong smell of petrol. Could this be a fuel leak or faulty pump? Fuel consumption's coming in at about 28-32mpg and there's no visable drip markes left on road when I pull away. How much would a replacement pump cost?

Recently bought a 1991 Valver which needs some work done. It's not a storm or something overly special so spending loads of cash keeping it standard with a low mileage seems like a bit of a waste, but on the other hand I love the lines of the car and think overly modifying it would run it's looks. Just wanted to hear some arguements for and against. So lets see some opinions. For an example, I'm looking to do something about the alloys. It has the originals on just now, which are in a bit of a state (need refurbed), but I'm not a big fan of them when I see them new. My mate has found a set of BBS G60 alloys which I think are smart or I can go all out and get a set of chunky 5 spoke borbets which I absolutely love.

Anyone got any idea how much a full respray would cost? Would want a complete strip back because someones done a half arsed job at some point. Prefer somewhere in Scotland to make life easier if someone has first hand experience please share.

It's a square fob with single button. Looks like i'll be upgrading it ASAP.

Think I need a new alarm fitted, old one keeps going off and remote central locking is dodgy. Would fitting a new alarm fix the central locking problem? It's a meta system that's currently fitted. Could do with advice on good systems that are well priced. And places in North East Scotland that fit them. Also, does anyone know what would have come factory fitted on a 91 Valver security wise?

My alarm has been acting funny, might be worth having it checked over, seems to be fine now.

Got into my valver last night and turned the ignition and to my amusement and shock the steering wheel started smoking from where the wheel joins the column. After quickly turning the engine off again it stopped and seems fine. Anyone ever witnessed such an event? Bit worrying, smelled like an electrical fire, burning wires. :shock:

I've noticed the same problem on my valver, the revs idle a bit higher when the pedals lower as well. Not sure if it's a major problem, but looks quite common. Let me know if you manage to solve it.

Recently bought a 1.8 16v 1991 Corrado. Car seems to have developed a slight knocking when going into first and second, especially when cold. Is this an indication of a serious problem? Would a fuel additive help?

Recently bought a 1.8 16v 1991 Corrado and I'm slowly sorting out the small problems it has. Just realised that the front windscreen demister doesn't work at all. The vents are all working properly, so not sure if it's the selector switch or if it's a seperate fan or what. Not a major problem til the winter comes but need to get an idea of cost and work to sort it. Anyone know where I could get a parcel rubber, only got the one

I recently bought a 1991 1.8 16V model and have released now I have it home why the guy had it parked away from other cars. When you start dry steering the car squeals from both front wheels. Not mechanical so it's gonna be a garage job. Anyone know what could be wrong and how pricey it'll be to fix? Mate thinks it's the power steering pump and it should be reasonably cheap to replace.
