waters a different issue. Some liquid was mixed into the brake fluid which has reacted and foremd a thick black like oil. This is the problem as it simply wont flush out! I will give someone the chance to repair! £500 without the wheels and its anyones! But i doubt there will be any interest to be honest!

Its not a bit of flushing and some new seals. Its all new seals, calipers, pads and very likely pipes aswell. Dont really call it a small £50-£100 job either. The work to be carried out was over £500 from two different garages and that was if the pipes were ok. I could do it myself but cant be without a car.

its too late now, car is being broken which is ashame as its one less on the road! But i need a reliable car and this is just to much work and probable expense to fix.

so how do i flush it?i need to make sure all the residue has gone completly as it might react again!

well i got it back today. What ever is in there is starting to eat away at the seals! can i put water through the system or not? i need to make sure its all out so it doesnt get contaminated again!

ha ha, im flushing the system over the weekend and if i have no luck its breaking time! i was just puttin the advert up in advance! where can i get the brake fluid from cheaply other than halfrauds? And also, how do i flush the system, where the best place to flush from?

in worcester, west midlands. I cant really drive it though to be honest. Theres an ati place think they specialise in brakes, tyres and exhausts.

are kwik fit any good? i want a big company so they dont screw me over! i love this car but wouldnt get another corrado so want to fix this one really! Just had all the electrics sorted aswell!

After just getting my rado, i first noticed the brakes were awful. Took it to a garage and they said something had been put in the brake fluid, they thought power steering fluid. They said its a write off. Is there no way of flushing the brake system to remove what ever it was? they quoted for brake lines, servo, calipers, pads etc. Whats the minimum cost i would be looking at?

Hi all, after all my testing of my electric windows, ive been a bit silly! looked at the switches today to find there not even wired in. So i have a bunch of wires and dont no how to attach them! The switches are multiplugs and the wires are single with insulated ends that connect to the multiplug. Whcih goes in where, theres blue and black and blue, think for something different red and blue together red and brown (2 red, 4 brown) i dont no what was installed in the car previously, and why would the windows be unplugged? Any help appreciated, i'll try and get some pics up later to explain better but any help asap would be amazing, its sooooo HOT! 8)

my car has an immobilser so im not worried about it getting knicked, and if it did come up i would just say they must have cut it out!

it just had new brake pads so im guessing they were some how set , up wrong. tires have only recently been replaced and balanced ruling that out. The brakes lock up way to easily especially the rear! I have a lot of like black oil on the one wheel which im guessing is brake oil. Will have to take it in to a mech to be safe, cant do emergency stops!

im sorry to tell you this after youve done the job. Ive just had a simular problem, Did the same as you but didnt drill any holes. Removed the sheer bolts, then once you can move that you can angle it in a way to get a hacksaw in there. Cut through the lock which then just dropped out, put all cowling etc and its all back to normal, no need for a new barrel or anything else, just dont have a steering lock now!

thanks for the help, i had a freind with an istall so put his sub in to test and it didnt work,put min into his and it didnt work! So obviously the sub was at fault! Openend it up and it turns out one of the connectors had come off! Nice and easy but frustrating problem!

it was bought of someone but was only a few months old and was working in their car! Checked all the fuses and there fine, just cant understand it!

does the sub have a seperate earth to the amp?

I have just wired in a new sub, amp and headunit! The headunit works fine, the amp recieves power but nothing from the sub! The only thing im unsure about is the twin rca that goes from my amp to headunit has a little blue lead at either end attached to the rca cables, is this an earth? Is this the problem? all myy other speakers etc are working fine!

i got a quote for £70 deliverd for a reconed rack! It was a site that searched all vw parts dealers. Search for vw parts in google.

im pretty sure the smoke was from the breaks because there so bad i cant even lock the wheels! Gunna have to take them somewhere to get them checked out!

Bascially, my breaks are shockingly bad it makes me think there has to be something wrong with them! whenever i press down hard on the pedal the car seems to veer and doesnt brake in a straight line! i was doing approx 55mph (in a 60) and approached some traffic lights with a big queue, i started to brake and nothing major happend, i ended up having to swerve and when i stopped there was black smoke everywhere! Ive just bought the car and the system had just been bled, what could this be!its had new pads on the rear. Is my best option to get some 288 front brakes?

little update. removed the second sheer bolt to discover there was a bolt on the inside holding it on still. Took a hacksaw to this i now i have now steering lock, which is good. All is back to normal and dont think i will replace the lock as i have an immobiliser etc! Cost me nothing to fix but gave my mate £20 for helpin. All cowling etc back on like nothings been done! jobs a good un!

cant see anything by Pickard1? i got my freind out to help and spent 2 hours removing one of the sheer bolts, gunna try the second today!

ok then....... well i now want to take the locking mechanism off can anyone instruct me on how to do that? Ive got the cowling etc off just dont no what im taking off!is it everything except the barrel bascially?
