Hi, its Adams girlfriend, iv had a good hunt at home and i think sadly iv put the wheel nut in the bin, it was only a generic set i think (the word lazer comes to mind, it was a black box about the size of a casette with a red and black and grey label on it) so i would try to use an 11/16th socket, batter it on with a decent hammer and break them off (can you tell iv done this before?) the kits you can buy make it more difficult to remove them if the kits dont work- which from past experience they don't - alternatively a friendly engineering company can do it for you for about £20), but the spare key and all the service history is here for it, we also have some bit and pieces which have surfaced for it around the house, nothing interesting but we have n use for any of them. its so nice to know it is going to live out the rest of its days as a loved car,not in a heap at broadbent autos slowly being raped of parts :( :D
  2. this may sound abit silly but mine was doing a very similar thing. turn out be the fuse for the spoiler!
  3. Is there any specailists that will sort the tilt but wont slide problem on the sunroof. I just simply dont have time to do it myself. cheers adam

  5. Head gaskets fine had the car at the garage to be checked, all pressure tested which came out ok, also the car had a new water pump from vw in may. No steam as far as i can see mate. Every now and again you can see afew drops ( and a do mean drops) tricle from the overflow from the expansion tank. Where abouts is the thermosat housing? Theres seems to be abit of water sitting on top of the gearbox wonder if it could be something to do with the housing leaking?
  6. Hi when im cruising down the motorway bout 80mph the temperature gauge doesnt get above 70 degrees and the vr starts losing water. :( . In around a 150mile trip it will use around 3/4 litre of water. But when the cars sat in rush hour doing the same jounery and the temperature gauges gets around 90 degrees/when the fan cuts in it doesnt use any water at all. whats going on can anyone help?
