    Oil Temp

Hi all I have a 2.0 16v corrado and recently have noticed the oil temperature has been higher than normal. Running at normal speed say around 60mph the oil temp reads between 110 and 112 degrees. Could the sensor be faulty or is there a more serious underlying problem? I have changed the oil regularly and the car doesnt do a huge amount of mileage. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Thats not a bad shout, do you think getting a samco hose kit is advisable? or are the standard hoses up to the job. we were lucky with the weather last year and the temperature was in the high 30's!!
  3. Sounds good, I have the suspension side sorted and I have some nice wide borbet wheels with good tyres. I will order the rear brace first I think then go from there.
  4. I know how expernsive it can get, Last year we got talking to a guy who had a big off on the ring and his bill was astronomical!!! Have had a look on stealth and G-Werks still cant find any braces listed. What are the best handling options for the Corrado?
  5. Thanks for that. I will take some spare pads with me. We are going for 5 days so I am sure the pads and brakes will take a hemmering. Engine wise is there anything else I will need?
  6. I will definately brace the back I have considered putting a rear cage in the car but I dont want to ruin the driveability on the road so thought the strut braces would be the next best thing
  7. I dont think the discs are bigger, they are vented and grooved Brembo discs. Thanks for the heads up on the oil cooler a mocal kit should be perfect for what I am looking for. I havent ordered a rear strut yet but will be as soon as I have found a good front. Is there anything else I will need for the ring?? Thanks Chris
  8. I am not sure. The anti roll bars have made a real big difference to the handling already. I can only compare to what I have put on the skyline, I know its a completely different car and the handling caracteristics are very different. A lot of the local golf's I saw last year have bracing and I couldnt believe how fast they go round. I am not an expert by any means and would welcome any advice. Thanks Chris
  9. Hi all I have recently bought a 94 Corrado 16v and am planning on taking it to the ring this year. Having been last year I think the car will perform great. I am going in August and there are a few parts I need to buy and would really appreciate some expert advice and knowledge. Firstly I have uprated the anti roll bars with eibach replacements and I would like to further stiffen the fron of the car with a lower and upper strut brace. Where is the best place to get these items and are there any particular makes or styles I should look at? Secondly last year at the ring the temperatures soared and I would like to get a good oil cooler and breather to keep temps as low as possible. Is there an oil coller kit available for the 16v and where will I be able to pick one up from? Lastly I have uprated brakes on the car and green stuff pads, I would like red stuff pads if possible, I use them on my skyline and have found them pretty good, I cant seem to find a part number for them for the corrado only part numbers for the green stuff. Do they make red stuffs for the corrado or is there a better alternative If there is anything else I need or need to know for the trip any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris
  10. I loved my G40 it was a fantastic little car and incredibly fast.... I will keep my eyes peeled on any pending events would be nice to meet some more local owners. Thanks Chris
  11. Thanks for the help I will give that a go and see if I can cure it... Thanks Chris
  12. Hi All just wanted to say hi, I am obviously new to Corrado ownership and love it. I have previously had VW polo's (please dont laugh) one of which being the Supercharged G40!!! I live in the Southampton area and would love to attend any meetings or events you have in the area. Oh yes the car. Its a 94 Corrado 2.0 16v in that deep Blue/Purple colour. Its pretty standard besides an exhaust and K&N Panel filter, it has been lowered and has wide Borbet wheels on it, I think it looks lovely. When I have chance to give it a good clean I will post some pictures for all to see. Kind Regards Chris
  13. Hi All I am new to the forum. I have in the last few days bought a 94 Corrado 2.0 16v and love it. It puts the biggest smile on my face everytime I drive it :D One thing I have noticed is that it idles quite irratic, sometimes it idles at 3,000 rpm, sometimes 1,500rpm, sometimes 900rpm and sometimes at 500rpm it has also stalled on me a few times!! Does anyone have an idea about how I can sort this problem out. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Chris
