hi, im having all sorts of miss fireing/ bad idleing problems. i know i need an icv and im just wondering if anyone knows if these are the same on a vr6 as on any other vw's.... for example mk2 golf or rado 16v??? only wondering this as a friend once found one in another friends garage and it seemed to fix his icv problem when it packed up!! it was strance cos the garage we found it in had never seen a vr6, it had only seen a mk2 8v!!!

hi, i just bought a vr6 with 130k on the clock, it just had a new head gasket and new chain guides. it had not been used for a while and when first started made a high pitched whine/squeek from the left/ drivers side of the engine to the side of the engine cover.. i think its an oil brether around that area.. got better after a long drive but still does not sound rite?? any ideas? :D

hi, my 94' vr6 rado has a toad alarm on it but the central locking has stopped working... so it does not unlock from any of the doors or with the key fob!! all fuses seem ok and i read about the common prob with the fuse blowing and cutting the windows with the locking... not that... very strange, the pump is making no noise... what should i check first? pump? how? could it be to do with the sensors on the door handels?? any ideas? thanks ppl :D

its really strange tho, are u all saying that the coil pac could have it running fine one minute then once revved up only when cold it could loose 2 cylinders till warmed up?? wouldn't it be difficult to test with a spark tester if its an intermittent fault?
-
it was replaces about 6 months ago, its weird how it only does it for a bit on start up when cold only once revved!! is it possible that warming it up could make something electrical work better?
-
is there any way of testing a coil pack? i know about the spraying water thing and looking out for arking but have already checked that and its not split...???
