Hi, Along the same lines as this, my 16v gave me a burst of smoke from the dash the other day as i pulled up. Now when going to start it the starter motor just stays on all the time even when the ignition is just on. The alarm (a toad one) has stopped beeping now when turned on or off. I'm thinking the immobiliser has fried itself (from reading these posts) but any other info would be appreciated! Dont suppose anyone in the plymouth area has a spare starter motor theyd like to flog me cheaply!! :-)

small problem, no sunroof...! :) Think i remember the previous owner saying something about fitting a new arial though... one thing that i didnt check. Thanks for the thought though seeing as it sparked the idea about the arial! :)

Dont suppose you could point me in the direction of those posts too? I've got damp in the rear passenger side headlining thats causing a lot of condensation. Ive looked around but cant see anywhere obvious where water could be getting in. All the seals look fine and theres no damp anywhere else in the car, just this rear top corner. Any help or suggestions of posts to read would make me very happy!

Well i've been reading and reading... Left and right travel is fine, it's putting it into 2nd and 3rd that seems stiff. Is this something that i need to adjust at the gearbox end (from reading the above article) or am I looking at a completely different problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
