  1. Lo, im having some naughty thoughts already. Do i spend lots of money on my 1.8 or do i get rid of it already and get VR6! Anyway im thinking about my costs, and was wandering what sort of MPGs ppl are getting in thier VRs. At the moment in my 1.8 (no ecu) i get like 30 mpg long steady drives. 20-25 quick driving. 13-25mpg stuck in traffic on my way to work :'(. Anything to give me an idea would be great so i can cost up how much id spend a year on it :)
  2. well took me a working day (when we didnt have anything t do at work XD) was just somthing to fill the time, but would be happy to give it ago, i still get odd hours spare i could use :)
  3. im abit shocked ppl say just over 1k, if u got yourself a good standard rado for like 500-1k and then put wheels/tyres and coilovers and exhaust, you will have spend over total over 2.5k easy. am i wrong ? so 1.5k worth of bits is worth £200 ? ;o but then cars are only worth what ppl will pay for them. if u spend 2k and love the car youv lost nothing i guess. but bear in mind if u get somthing thats not droped and has bits u wana change think how much thats gona cost U. maybe im just trying to justify spending 1.8k on mine and thats not even droped (althout it had a full recon engin in last 30k miles with all reciepts). but im happy with it, and i spent like 4 months trying to find a car without having to drive 300 miles.
  4. Got my 1st on sat after spending about 50 quid on cleaning stuff, and then spent 4 hours cleaning/polishing/vacuming and admiring it :) and then went out for a drive. filling up i got a 'wow nice car mate' didnt rly knw how to respond apart from, 'cheers'. but it felt good! lol
  5. Just thought id ad this pic i made in illustrator http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2048/187 ... be64_b.jpg
  6. Checkin around suspention, and been offered a deal on some spax PSX -TAP056. for £350 instead of £450. anyone got any experience of these? i was thinking full h&r but at £730, are they worth the extra for normal quick road driving?
  7. Hey guys, ive had my 1.8 for about 6 months now, havnt done anything exept maintanence yet. so heres a couple of pics. http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id ... 513&size=l http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id ... 451&size=l before i got it , the roof had been desemed (which means if u have the window open with water on the roof it all runs in the window haha), resprayed in the last few years (the paint is good, but seems a little thin maybe) 100k on the clocks but had the engine replaced at about 70k, dnt knw why, but i have the paperwork and bills for about £2k :S. anyway plans are to leave the bodywork all the same, i dnt think u cant improve the looks of the body rly (well maybe a grill change too), guess il just be getting coilovers, ARBs, new ehxaust system and then if i ever have any money again after that.. il be looking for power gains in the engin :) well thats the kinda plan, well see.
  8. Hiya all, Ive had my red 1.8 16v 1992 for about 6 months now and I LOVE IT!! now i havnt done anything to it yet, my 1st thoughts are exhaust, air filter, suspention + ARB. since 1 of my shocks is shot, it looks like il be doing sus and ARB. 1st thinking H&R coilovers and ARB if i can afford it but on the exhaust front, is it worth the money to get all new from manifold to back box? is the standard manifold good enough or what, im totaly clueless. Any sujestions for my lil 1.8. hopefully over time il be spending some more for powergain etc, so i want somthing up to the job. Well any help is greatly apreciated.
