ran car last night for a while sitting in the shed... ran for about twenty mins - Coolant temp ok Just under 90 degrees, oil temp ok... All coolant pipes were buldging and roasting hot... top and bottom of the rad..., ones to and from the matrix... All really swollen and under pressure... More so than normal... fan kicked in ok... ... dont think its the motor for fan. LOL..

motor sounds ok... no difference in motor sound.... Smoke is V little really... can motor be changed with dash in? Its over on the left passenger side, can it be removed without taking out full dash? I cant remember off hand...
-
No the headlight switch anyway.... Had that problem... got brand new one from VW and only used a few times since. Plus that was way more smoke and instant.. Thanks tho... Its actually coming from all vents. Can be seen more out of the ones on top for the windscreen when you close the ones for your face if you understand me... Ill just be U-ing the pipes from the engine... not doing it again... WTF! it was brand new... no big job to install really but took a week or so in the evenings... Someone gimme good news that its normal for the first few runs on a new matrix! Ahhhh!

I took my 94 corrado vr out of the shed for the first time this summer. Had been parked for approx 8 months. When it was off the road I done the heater matrix... All went ok... (i thought) Now the problem.. drove it up the road today and I noticed a small bit of smoke leaving the dash vents... Could only really be seen when driving in sun light... Im 99% sure the water temp is ok and its not overheating... Needle rises to 90degrees or so and sits just below on a drive. See Im worried because I had needles off when I made white dial faces when I had the dash out. Oil temp is ok too... The smoke has no real smell... maybe steam??? Would that be normal or anything when you do a heater matrix for the first while? No? What should I check / do now? I dont wanna put it into daily use until Im 100% happy... Any help would really be appreciated folks?! Cheers!

I tried... and spent hoursa at it... my scanner... when I scanned them in cahnged the size to ever so slightly larger and was having awfull trouble getting them scaled back down and maintaining the resoultion... it became a little pixelated... Thanks for the link... I just dont want them to look like a diy jobbie... Might go at it again if this doesnt work out for me... Loads of nice lockwood ones on ebay but rpm to 8k tut tut...

Basically my corrado has been slowly slipping towrads the motorsport look... flocked dash, big brembos, 17" white speedlines, etc... For a while now ive been trying to source nice white dials... All those I see are lockwood ones on ebay for a g60 which have different figures on them... Does anyone make an oem style white Dial set for the Corrado VR6? Where can they be bought? Any pics? Basically im looking for my dials from 94 vr with colours reversed... white background with black gradients and still red colour at peak rpm etc... I contacted a local printers and they said they'd do them but for 100euro... Which is a rip off... Any help would be great please... Note - I dont want ddi style... Just same style but in white... Thanks Cliff

ah but its the dish that attracted me... They'll just probably look like bbs Ra.s with a centre cap and bolts... plus theres 5 mint alloys for very little..... I passed on them..
-
If the original holes are welded up would it be as bad? Or can it be done... I think they sit lovley... Would be much nicer with more stretch, polished all over and norm stainless bolts... Going to have to think strongly... The drilling looks awful on them.. lethal in fairness... :nono:

Heres a quick pic... Theres five wheels included - no tyres and all just been refurbed...
-
Hi as above I have tracked down a gorgeous set of BBs splits for very little that have just been refurbed... Only problem is there not 5x100 and are the following speccs... 17x8 ET20... Id have to fit an adaptor thats prob 20mm so that brings it to ET 0 Can BBs Rc's be re-drilled? from 5x120 - 5x100? Id plan on running 195 / 40's and I have a n arch roller and want to roll them a fair bit... I need to paint one of the arches anyway i think... Can anyone help me please I need to let the man know by tonight if i want the wheels...

Please excuse my ignorance... Whats a valeo one? I actually popped into my local motor factors and they had it listed in their catalogue... 40euro... about 35 punds sterling... Souns way too cheap surely?! They said its listed as a heater radiator for all corrados... and is same as a mk2 one? True?
-
Bad news... Had a serious root around today.. Its the heater matrix for sure... Its constantly dripping out from under the dash. The heater intake was clear and the door membrane's are grand... So where can I get a matrix guys? its for a non air conditioned VR6? Thanks
-
Super... thanks for the link...

Just seen this now... Ill agree with GS bellew, theres loads more than you think... I have a red 94 VR mate has a red g60 Lad I bought mine off has another navy vr and storm (green and beige combo on the way) Theres a wine one in Trim too, 16v I think And i seen a navy 16v the other day in blanchardstown... Another chap I know has a red 16v with a black roof... A good five or six different ones at limerick show this year.. Would love an Irish meet, be good to see it happen...

Dont suppose you have the part number for the seal please, no?
-
Ill get a look at that later on... Dont think its the door membrane... beacuase the carpet along the sill when you open the door is dry... Its all just gathering in the back... At the seat rails... Ill look into the scuttle cover... I put a mk2 jetta scuttle cover on a few months back, better check its not diverting water in anywhere... thanks...
-
In trouble... the corrado has been parked up outside for the past few months and has took on alot of water... Its all gathering in the rear footwell (passenger side) and theres loads of it.. a couple of inches when I sponged it into a bucket :( Now ive heard people on about the membrane behind the doorcards but I was kind of thinking it could be the heater matrix no? Any one want to try diagnose the problem? whats most likely? If you think its the matrix, wheres best to get one? Its a non air conditioning VR6 Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks Cliff

Quick Question: What the hell is a 'breather box'?
Europolo replied to MonkeyVR6's topic in Engine Bay
Can you run without this and just put a breather filter on the rocker cover and use a power rohr style aluminium intake pipe without any hassle? What do you do with all the loose ends if you ditch it and run a small breather filter? Ive seen a good few in mags using them? -
As above... Know its prob a super long shot but I know of a lad selling a safety devices cage from his mk2 golf. It would hardly fit the corrado would it?
