  2. i forgot to say the car is now lowered on £200 ebay coilovers. not amazing handling but ok and the car looks much better. will do proper update with pics when charger is installed.
  3. its my girlfriends car aswell and she only likes one set of alloys, ACE 112's which i will get sprayed black. ive showed her loads and i really like the team dynamics pro race 2 but she only likes the ace ones. luckily i like them too. once i can afford them i can put my r32 brakes on.
  4. some of you may of seen my posts asking for help with my vr. it hasnt been running right for a long time now and my girlfriends brother an apprentice mechanic put it down to bore wear and piston rings. i bought a low miles golf engine and it was about to be sent off to stealth to be rebored to put my rado pistons in it. i was gunna rebuild with new parts hoping this was gunna cure my hesitating and kangarooing. i ordered a rotrex kit from storm a couple of weeks ago and sent my girlfriend to collect it on wedsnday. she was talking with andy at storm about the symptons and he didnt believe the piston rings/bore were the cause of the problems and recomended it went in to him to be looked at. wish i had given it to them months ago now. went in this morning and within 2 hours he had cured it. it came down to a dodgy isv that was making the ecu do strange things and he found a brake down in the aux water pump circuit. he put a second hand isv on and rewired the water pump to the egt to save time and money and hey presto cured! put it on the rollers and got 202bhp. done some more tests and realised it had the wrong spark plugs which were making the combustion chamber to hot which is why plug 6 kept fouling up because of sumthing to do with the fuel but i cant remember what he said now. they replaced them with some bosch platinum ones. they also noticed the sensor on the dizzy was almost hanging off so replaced that too. put it back on the rollers and got 205.6bhp. thats a standard map too! i have got a bit of low compression on cylinder 1 but its not affecting the running at the mo. the car now feels fantastic, like it should. very strong and very smooth. ive got a great graph but no way of getting it up on here at the mo. ive gone on for a bit now but just hoping this might help someone else suffering simular problems. a real big shout out to storm developments, they are the best garage ive ever dealt with they are really nice genuine guys. now i can stick my rotrex on along with my 263 cams, lightweight tappets, heavy duty springs, titanium retainers, head gasket spacer and arp head and conrod bolts. its the basic rotrex kit and andy says he's hoping to see 260bhp from my car. cant wait to join the forced induction club!

  6. dubpower one is specifically designed for rhd cars. nothing else special about it though. not that hard to fit can be done quite quickly. i think unless you run their de-cat aswell u need an adaptor plate from them to fit on the cat though. raceland are nice and cheap, dont know if that means they may crack on the welds? supersprint is another but more expensive. i think miltek do one too.
  7. im the only one then that thinks those alloys are the worst ive ever seen :gag: . get the bbs man u wont regret it. no disrespect meant only my opinion
  8. yeah soz i should have been more specific. cheers anyway
  9. mate im boring out a golf engine. golf pistons are 81mm and corrado pistons are 82mm. u have to rebore.
  10. the ones out of my corrado vr6. i know they're standard 82mm but don't know if they're mahl or there was another make i believe vw used. cant remember the other make. will there be a difference then?
  11. i just rang stealth to arrange an engine rebore and he said the guy that does it like to have the pistons and mearsures each one individually. i cant take my car off the road untill everything thing is ready to back in. he said if i find out the piston clearances he can do it that way. vince wasnt sure as he always just gives the bloke the pistons at same time. can anyone help and tell me what the clearances are please? thank you as always
  12. ive got a golf vr6 block im planning to bore out to use my corrado pistons in. its from a later single chain engine. my current engine is a double chain. can i use my corrado crank so i can use my current head and keep the double chain? any help most appreciated.
  13. thanks rado-steve for the mk4 r32 brake setup. good salesman, pleasure doing business with.
  14. DUBpower system. would go perfect with your charger. im well happy with mine. exhaust, decat, manifold, performance leads and 70 degree thermo all for £699. once fitted proply the fit is perfect. quiet unless u floor it and then it sounds wicked. way better than the miltek i had before which was just a bassy drone. i choose the optional first box bypass aswell. looks pretty oem just a bit bigger and shiny.
  15. how many miles did you do from when it was full to when you fund it empty? the manual states vr's use 1 litre of oil every 600 miles and aperently from full to empty on the dipstick is 1 litre. thats about what mine uses.
  16. thanks easypops. ive done a search and found the sequence from a post of kev's (thanks) but theres nothing on arp rod bolt torque settings.
  17. i'm in the process of rebuilding a vr6 engine. ive got sum arp bolts. am i correct in thinking these should be torqued to about 75-80nm? is there a specific pattern for doing them up or do i just work from the outside in. also ive got sum arp rod bolts was wondering what the torque settings for these are too. many thanks
  18. soz thought u were buying not selling.
  19. mate theres the one u want on ebay right now. starting bid £50
  20. i would bet ISV. take it off and soak it in petrol and use a screwdriver to free up the valve inside.
  21. just fitted full dubpower system including de-cat and stainless manifold. happy with fit but the end tip touched my bumper when driving and melted the paint off. the end of this exhaust gets fu*king hot! gunna wrap the manifold next week to stop the heat soak. think i'll try sum new rubbers aswell. sounds quiet untill you put your foot down and past 4000rpm is nice. got my girlfriends brother to drive up the road for me and it sounded awesome from outside the car. motorway cruising is almost silent. the exhaust i removed was a miltek one. my opinion is that the dubpower one is less bassy than the miltek and sounds much better. this is a proper performance system! try for yourself.
  22. it needs a rebuild and i wanna know the engine is sweet and new. it will eventually one day get a turbo or supercharger.
  23. hi there. can anyone please give an opinion of what bhp and torque i can expect from the following mods. block internals strengthed and oversized to 83.5 head polished and ported and larger valves 263 cams dubpower exhaust system with cat bypass and manifold custom map also will 83.5 pistons make it a 3.1L thanks for any input or advice you can give me.
