  1. yeah i spoke to andy at storm today and he said i shouldnt have bothered putting them on before i put the charger on. he said that because they are designed for forced induction without a map they will make the car feel less aggressive and the fueling will be all over the place. lesson learnt then.
  2. cheers mate will give it a few more miles then. thanks
  3. ive just fitted my cams and sum lightweight lifters. not mapped cos im put my supercharger kit on in the next few weeks. went on a half hour test drive. result was inconclusive. i just not sure i can feel any gain. i think im actually missing bottom end now and the top end is running out quicker. what does anyone else think thats fitted these without a map? my car was already running 205bhp before and with no map. thanks for any comments and opinions you can give me
  4. i have the same prob on my mini at the mo. ignition switch.
  5. hesitation could be loads of things. best to get it on a vag-com to find out more.
  6. so you're going turbo instead then? thought u had already bought a rotrex?
  7. yeah for that budget your prob looking at 24v if u want a power gain. u will also get much better fuel economy and wont suffer cooling probs. i disccused this route with storm and they said if i had had a coilpack engine they could prob map it to the exsisting ecu but as i had a dizzy they said it would have to be standalone management which would cost quite a bit extra. reckon u could do it for 3 grand though. or bore the block out, wossner 83.5mm (3Litre) low compression pistons, new bearings, gaskets, arp bolts and a 250bhp rotrex kit for just less than 4 grand.
  8. oh and i wasnt happy to find you are now setting up a group buy on these kits after ive just bought mine. :nono: lol
  9. i just went for the basic kit. i think i might be happy with 260bhp. may go to 300ish later but cant see me going for more. didnt think i need the 94. i saw andy's car there and when i saw the engine bay i thought it was yours at first. looked simular to your avator
  10. something im worried about with the rotrex is the air filter for it is not even half the size of my ram air filter. will it still sound nice and loud or will it be quieter? does anyone know?
  11. yeah batteries have got expensive. i got a bosch silver top for my vr from my local shop for £110. a year ago when my lil bro worked at halfords he used his trade card to get me a cheap bat for my golf mk3 1.4 and it only cost £25. befriend someone that works at halfords is your best bet.
  12. nowt jammy about it. work hard, save and enjoy!
  13. with the extra bracket cos i dont have air con and with the dreaded VAT it came to £2400. that includes mapping time and fuel regulator setup. took 3 weeks to get here from denmark.
  14. KADVR6 mabye i'll try just injectors then. i want to get a few different gauges so i can see adzactly whats going on before i up it though. thanks for the advice mate. PROVR6 cheers mate. i cant put the brakes on yet cos i need 17 inch alloys and probally spacers to fit them. next months mod!
  15. is this finished yet? just read through your post. shame about storm as i found them really helpfull. the emerald is good for beginers, easier to play with i hear.
  16. looking good sean. may see you about as im always blasting round wallingford ways
  17. those rolling shots and ikea pics are some of the nicest rado pics ive ever seen!
  18. nah mate its th c30 84. i should see 260bhp from 6 psi. i will build up to run higher boost in the future but will take me ages more to afford the extra bits. plan is to get water injection, bigger injectors and fuel pump. then i can run 8-10 psi and see around 300bhp but will prob be end of next year before i can afford to. would love to get the schimmel charge cooler, short intake, next size up charger and standalone ecu but will prob never happen unless i win the lotto.
