if i had a vr6/g60 or a 2.016v the clocks would nearly be a straight rewire, would just need the tach signal from the knock sensor and thats it. the 1.8 16v has no knock sensor tho so i'm struggling to find a place to get it from. have seen a those convertors on the net, still need to do a bit more reasearch to find out weather i need it or not. much better if i can find somebody who has already done it tho. guess if i find out how to change the signal for later clocks that will be the answer? you can use a later speed sender for the speedo signal, not sure about the tacho/rev signal yet tho, all i know is that it can be done! i will get back this soon

the random green wire might be the original tach signal wire to the clocks? and the black the speed signal? otherwise there are a few random wires behind the dash! do you have any of the a3 rewired parts left? eg- the headlight loom, if so will you be selling it?

is it only the wires that are missing? could new wires be soldered on easy?

i managed to wire in pre can-bus mk4 clocks into my rado using a mk4 can-bus pinout diagram, does anyone know which pin is for the tach signal on the pre can-bus mk4 pinout? also i'm not sure where to get the tach signal from? a friend seems to think it can be taken from the coil? on the vr6/g60 you can take it from the knock sensor btw any ideas?

no worries. after loads of research i now realise that can-bus sucks! and ruins my hybrid plans! I'm not so sure those emulators will work for a corrado, i asked kufatec and they replied saying there is no known resolution for my car (1.8 16v). which rns-e's work in the corrado? i have a two din slot in my corrado (pics in build thread), its a fairly easy swap over. :) i managed to craft the rado heater controls into the a3 dash fairly easy too. i will probably move to climate control when funds allow. i want a factory cd look does anyone have any ideas?

hi, i can't find the guide on cleaning the isv, anybody know where it is?

surely somebody has this knowlage, i have spent hours searching around but nobody seems to give a definate answer. basicly after eight or so years of rado ownership i'm getting bored of the dash! i could buy a new car (s3, a3 tdi etc) but i dont want to have the same as everyone else and i love the corrado too much and can't really justify paying for two cars unless they were corrado's. as i already have the a3 dash (better than tt imo) in my shed i'm tempted to put it in before i collect all the parts or buy a 20vt car (or maybe tdi) to update the corrado. i also want to fit the climatronic from a a3, does this work on can bus too? in my early years of ownership i modded the car so it can never be compleatly standard again! (its a project car) it will have standard'ish looks with a modern dash and engine. i will be on the look out for a standard kr when this project is done, i love standard too!

hello, i want to try and put a audi stereo in my corrado and was wondering if a can bus simulator would work? i have the kr with no digital speed sensor, do they only work with the speed sensor?

vw i'd say if they still do them, mines leaking too so i bought a eurocarparts one for my 1.8 16v and it's a simple reducer pipe (not bolted) you can get a 90* angled reducer, pipe connector and straight length hose from sfs hoses which will replace the parts nicely.

yep, the idle valve, i think the problem is that the valve gets stuck open, so it might mean it's flooding, you can improve it by taking it apart and cleaning it with carb cleaner. i'd say the ignition switch is very likely too, if you have a push button start and the key will not start the car the switch must be broken.

hello, it's difficult to get help on hear sometimes! quicky1980 is right tho, and as you have a push button fitted it's even more likely, make sure you get a genuine new ignition switch which is now a polo item starting with a 6n part number. it's not a fun job, probably why somebody fitted a push button. if you can get another switch to test, you can unplug yours plug the new one in and test it that way (saves removing the switch if it's fine) make sure the push button is removed first, then you will know for sure. otherwise i'd look at the isv or the vacum pipes. hope that helps
