yep its trough the steering wheel, i got my new wheels put on on saturday after having new tyres and it has started after that, so that makes sense! i'm going down to the garage at 5 and they are going to check the wheels (all 4) for balencing, the knocking noise is coming from the left corner where the CV boot is weeping so i will ask them to put it on a ramp. let you know
-
well yet another issue with my C, this morning on coming into work i noticed that at about 80 and over there is a high vibration and then over bumps etc there is a knocking noise............... When i changed the brakes and discs on saturday in noticed the CV boot was a bit perished but nothing major and it was weeping a small amount of grease.... so is it one of the follow A new drive shaft Bottom Ball joint needs replacing and the CV gaitor..... Thoughts please.....

think the sunroof is a lost hope....... :brickwall: but last night the mrs hoovered the car out, i rewired all the standrad speakers (are they always kickers as standard) fitted a new sports steering wheel and on close inspection of the teeth on the steering wheel i took off no wonder i had so much play in the steering, instead of pointed they were round, the disadvantage of aluminium i suppose. Polished the glass with ticut car polish, amazing stuff, i'd recommend it to everyone. today/tomorrow will include fitting my new headlining new discs and pads, new wheels fit the polished inlet manifold after struggling with a damn bolt clean up the block with some autosol, paint the bonnet stay so basically the to do list is massive!!
-
are Irwins going to actually work on an allen bolt, there is only half the head exposed, the rest is spot faced into the throttle body!?
-
yeah it was the damper, now i can see it in the cold light of day it was a bit easier to spot! the bracket needs straightening and i need to sort it out. Just rying to figure out how to get the last bolt that some numpty as round the hex head on the throttle body, do i cut a slot in it with a hack saw, or drill the head off and slide the throttle body over the shank and then i can remove the bolt frm the inlet manifold at a later time, while i have the polished one on!? opinions??
-
will do, going out in my lunch to see what i can sort out..... underneath the throttle body there is, what i can only describe as, a sensor type unit that compresses, this doesn't have any elec connections to it though. it seems to be some kind of stop, but i am not sure........i think i may have adjusted it slighty.....could that be the cuase, if anyone has any idea what the unit is that would be great!?
-
thats the probelm though, there is no tention on the throttle cable, it the actual sprung part which doesn't want to return to its normal position?! Is the throttle body on its way out!?
-
Last night i started the job of fitting a polished intake manifold, only to find that after removing the assembly some 'tool' has managed to round the head on the allen bolt!!!!! :bad-words: so i bot it all back together and the car drives fine. Then this morning i set off to work and all is well with the world, when i stop at a set of lights and the revs stay at 3,000rpm, and when i pulled over to have a look the throttle cable is not tight but the throttle doesnt want to return to the correct position! I have checked everything i can think of and i am now stuck HELP!!!! :help: Note to self dont fix something that isnt broken!

ah ha, you try to suggest i am inept at searching, you may be right but that link is a how to on a later spec corrado than my 1.8 16v, which, from the pictures alone shows a completely different sunroof assembly, with the back section (where the runners continue above the rear seats, there is a solid casing in which the sunroof slides into..... so this is not really of much assistance. :brickwall: cheers for the link though  , but i have printed and read that one this morning :gag:
-
right is anyone still doing these, just managed to break mine argh :brickwall: hope someone is still making them as i have to tools to complete a solder job!!! plus that would look gash!

......the old sunroof issue. Right i have finally got round to taking the headling out ready for a new piece, now i want to fit a moon roof from a passat, now has anybody written a "how to.." on this as i can't find one using the search on the forum. I basically want to know the following, Can i manually wind the metal panel out (the motor is screwed at the minute) and fit a moon roof glass panel stragiht in, or do i need the runner etc?? Is this job going to need more than one pair of hands? The panel i have is a tilt and slide afair, well i assuming it is as the trim in side is split to allow flex whilst tilting, and also the mech bonded to the roof is so largei can only assume that this is so the roof can slide into it???? Are moonroofs (with runners if req'd) easy to get hold of???? SOrry if this has been up before but i am in need of a little help, and you guys have come through with some great advice previously. Cheers in advance Alex

i would have words mate but they did all the work for £300 cash so i am not complaining!!
-
well all i can say mate is you sound like you've got the right car and the right missus, hard balance to mine, i just got the opposite affect after talking to a guy with his G60, i get back in mine and all i get is ear ache about me being a geek!!!!! i dont care though as i would be without the car......long live the corrado my only cuftie so far has been while picking up the car from the garage the owner saying to me he was green with envy as he had always wanted a corrado and never got one - the mrs wouldnt approve is all he said.................. CHUFT!!!!!!!!!!!
-
its flashing all the time, but i will try that later. Whats the issue, if it does/doesnt??
-
as long as you take some care and dont just recklessly accelerate behind and then swerve left and undertake i see no problem. I did see once that on the large matrix boards on the M6 they had the message "use outside lanes for overtaking only" and i was shocked to see that everyone was reminded of their lane discipline, and that includes the BMW and Merc drivers, and moved over to the must inside lane feasible! i think they should impose a penalty fine, not necessarily points, to those who repeat offend, but marshaaling this would be near on impossible. I like the way of driving with my dipped beams on during all times of the day (no fog lights though thats just annoying) and then once behind an offender falshing the full beams a few times, if that doesnt work then moving to the inside lane and under taking!

right as some maybe aware i have had some troubles of late with my C. After having the bottom cam shaft pulley, the ajoining anxilary pulley, cam belt, Head gasket, Distributor cap, Distributor rotor replaced i am now in a position where there is a sensor which is showing a fault, but i'm buggered if i can find it......... The water and oil temperature are staying steady on the car, and everything is running well, better than ever in fact but the red light on the water temp is flashing, it starts off ok and then flashes after 2 minutes of the car running........ the coolant levels is fine and there is no leak on the system..... SOMEONE ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ITS DRIVING ME MAD :censored:
