right so theres the front rear and gearbox yeah?

As above really, changed my front engine mount recently to try and cure my car shuddering from pulling away, has imporved it but not fully, is the gearbox mount as easy to change as the front? cheers

My rado is (or should i say was) fitted with a reiger debadged eye brow spoiler and grill, basically was driving home from work with the bonnet not closed properly (for some reason it dosnt close properly if its pushed down from one side, it will look closed but still open from the other side) so im guessin that the space it was given between the headlight and the bonnet was enough to shake it to pieces and send the 3 slat grill flying over my roof!! so a wierd warning to anyone who has one of these grills, make sure your bonnet is shut properly or it will fly off, lucky my bonnet didnt fly open into my windscreen, my own fu**ing fault lol

Following on from this thread - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=78131 Took my rado to my local garage today to have the mount replaced, was hoping for a 30 mins job for a part that should only cost no more than £40, just got a call saying the part costs £140 and it will take them hour and a half to do!!! Be colecting it now me thinks lol

in our paintshop we use something called M700 Anti static, Best thing to do i find is a proper heat gun, works a treat :D

im pretty useless when it comes to engine work so i dont have a clue how to change it, im a paint sprayer so bodywork is my area of expertese lol any idea of costs?

My rados going in on tuesday to have the front engine mount replaced, any idea how much its gonna cost? cheers

yeah was thinking it might be the suspension, getting coilovers and new bearings soon so hopefully it should cure it lol cheers

Hey guys Whenever i drive over bumps in the road or under heavy accelerating, i get a strange knocking noise from the near side rear, i havnt had the car for a year yet and i think the previous owner fitted lowering springs onto the original shocks, any ideas? cheers

does your coolant need topping up quite often? like 2-3 times a week?

will try that cheers mate, it idles just fine, spark plugs and leads have all been changed recently, its just almost like something is stopping the car from moving forward and the front of the car kinda bounces up and down slightly, confusin i know lol

ah sorry 1.8 16v Nah seems to do it in any weather condition lol any ideas?

As above really, when pulling away from traffic lights and such, the car dosnt move smoothly, its almost as if the front calipers are seizing but i know it cant be this cos just recently i had one of them replaced, any ideas? someone suggested that the clutch is not releasing properly any help appreciated

anyone have any good reccomendations for adjustable coilovers for a 1.8 16v? or any that are height adjustable that arnt to harsh of a ride? looking to spend around 300-350 cheers

dosnt affect the dash lights but plugs and leads are my first thought

Hey guys, had my 16v for around 3 months now and recently it dosnt seem to want to start first time, usually takes a couple of mins to fire up, what could this be down to? spark plugs? starter motor? any help appreciated

Right just had the head gasket tested at it seems to be the problem, looks like its on its way out, explains the large amounts of coolant needed along with the oil light coming on maybe due to losing oil pressure or the coolant mixing with the oil, and also the exhaust billowing with smoke at high revs in low gears. just when things seemed to be going so well :mad2:

I think its intermittent, going from memory. Only ever had teh oil light come on once in the 3 rados ive owned. But im pretty sure its intermittent, but the light is continious when mine comes on its only for like 3 burst then goes off for a couple of days, usually when im having a spirited journey, yesterday for example was cruising along in 4th doing 40 then dropped down to 2nd for a bit of pull, fair amount of smoke came out the exhaust then the oil light came on for 3 seconds then all was calm, starting to really worry me now cos i hardly ever rag the thing

is the oil warning light supposed to be continuous or is a always short bursts? cheers though

Might sound stupid but if the oil warning light flashes and beeps, is it supposed to be a continuous beep rather than a short burst? cos mine came on a few days ago and hasnt since, do i have a dodgy sensor?

looks like leaky coolant tank, cant argue with 250 though mate nice
