  1. Hiya mate, don't know u wer on here!! Yea, got a 350z, after an evo tho now! Still moving with the rocco, albeit slowly!! Yea, avn't seen u since last summer I don't think.
  2. PIKKEMAND, I have designed a beaket to fit the PG block, it's In manufacture at the moment, I will post some of my CAD models up for you to look a when I get chance, and when there made, I'll fit to my engine to prove they fit, then maybe I can supply you drawings. Col.

    G60 vacum system

Cheers Matt, wrapped that up lovley.
  4. Hi VEEDUBBED, did you manage to take any pic's of your baracket? Luka_brazi, using the stock G60 crank pulley, you need to use a 58mm pulley on the supercharger, this will ensure your charger is spinning slightly more than x2 engine speed, not sure how fast the supercharger spins on the mercedes, but on the MINI, it's max of just over 15000 RPM, which the M45 can cope with...with the 58mm pulley, you will be supplying approximatley x1.92 more air than the G60 engine needs...on the MINI the charger is supplying x2 more air than the engine needs, this equates to around 11psi of boost, therefore I would take a guess that with a 58mm pulley on the M45 used on a G60 engine will give you between 9-10psi of boost, so slightly less than with the G-ladder charger. Hope this helps. Col.

    G60 vacum system

Cheers for the answers, couple more questions :) 1.2 how does the throttle body know when it see's excess boost? Some kind of diaphram valve actuating a wastgate on the throttle body maybe, like a turbo wastegate? 2.2 when throttle closed, and charge on return, why does the charge not pass through this channel from one side of the throttle to the other? Is the wastegate I precieve much bigger port than this channel bore? I.e. The charge follows the path if least resistence? Can you please quote sum part numbers so I know what I'm looking at. Cheers! Col.
  6. Hi all, A couple of questions: 1) When the throttle on the G60 is fully closed, in this instance changing gear - how does the G60 dispense the boost from charger/plumbing to keep the charger spinning and prevent blowing pipes. 2) When the throttle on the G60 is fully closed, in this instance changing gear - how does the G60 take air in to fuel the engine...without passing air when on boost? one way valve? 3) When the throttle on the G60 is fully closed, in this instance at idle - how does the G60 take air in to fuel the engine...without passing air when on boost? I expect the same answer as for question 2. Below are a few engine diagrams, hopefully they will help people in explaining there answers with the part no's ect.
  7. Hiya VEEDUBBED, Do I understand you right - you have a G60 supercharger bracket modified to fit a Eaton M45 supercharger? if so, pictures would be great, I could modify my G60 bracket in a similar way. Cheers, Col.
  8. Hi all, I intend to put a Eaton M45 from the MINI onto the PG block (I know some people think the M45 is a little small, but the M62 shares the same mounting holes so if the M45 isn't suitable I can upgrade), I was wondering if those that have done it in the past made a drawing for the bracket? saves me measuring up and doing one. Has to be a M45 for the mini though, as I know BMW had eaton manufacture M45's to BMW spec's. any other info people have about the conversion is also most welcome!! Cheers, Col.

    Missfiring VR6

Hi all, My VR6 isn't very well :( It has a terrible missfire (wich can be on and off) sometimes it takes a while to fire up, this problem started maybe 6 months ago. (I thought it was a dodgy crank sensor) maybe this could be related to the missfire?? anyone have any other thougts???? someone sugested coil pack, seems reasonable, does anyone know the test values for using multimeter on coil pack? cheers, Col.
  10. Cheers guys, I found the supply and return (ports & fittings) last night. The reason I ask is I have fitted a Impreza charger to the G60 engine, and needed to know the max supply pressure to make sure the impreza charger can cope, without passing to much oil. you have answered all of my questions. Big thanks!!
  11. thanks for your info mate. I have the G60 engine to put in my Scirocco, so its not plumbed in you see, still building it up. I must admit, I'm really suprised you say 0.3 bar..I understood the system pressure varies between 2.0-3.0 bar @2000RPM, upto 6-7Bar at circa 6000RPM. If the pressure sender is running from the same supply as the oil feed to charger, and the pressure is as I said above, then the supply into the charger must be around this value, no change in bore size/pipe length would create such a pressure drop, not in the dimensions were talking about here, were talking about pressure drops due to relative roughness of pipe/bore diameter and expansion/fitting losses, very small, and almost neglagable if you were to duoble diameter and length. flow velocity however is very dependant of diameter. What are your thoughts? Cheers, Col.
  12. Hi all, Has anyone got a diagram/picture showing where the oil feed to the charger comes from on the block, and where the return goes to. also what thread sizes are tapped into the block for these. Also, whats the supply oil pressure (max) to the charger, is there an oil pressure regulator in place? cheers, Col.
  13. Sorry, the tool is just a standard valve stem seal puller, some snipe nose pliers should sufice tho.
  14. just done my stem seals, they were a little tight, but using the propper tool, and some dismantling fluid I had no problems. no need to remove the guides. Col.
  15. Cheers flusted, By this you mean the comression the piston does on the allready compressed (by the turbo) air/fuel mix? not the overall compression. Cheers, col.
