    On belting up...

Cheers, fellas. That's really helpful, thanks. Is it correct that VAG actually sell a timing belt kit?

    On belting up...

Hi Question for a friend. He's having the timing belt done on his 16v - are there any other related bits he should get done at the same time? I've already said the tensioner is one, and that the parts should all be genuine VAg, but if anyone has any other suggestions I could pass on, they'd be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  3. Just a thought: a Storm is one of those cars that when they come up for sale tend to attract a lot of questions from buyers regarding provenance; in which case, if they've nicked it to move it on, they might decide it's easier to break up sell - so watch out for any new classifieds (Pistonheads, etc) for Storm bits.
  4. Looking good, there. It's shining up like a new cherry! On page 8 when you show taking the lights off to get to the faded paint - could I ask what products are you using to get the paintwork back like that? Cheers

    Heater

Hi When they worked on your car, they could have introduced an air lock. I didn't know that was a possibility, thanks. But how would you test for that? Though I've got an awful feeling it might be more than that. Still, I haven't had the classic footwell full of water that indicates the matrix has gone...?

    Heater

Hi everybody Only had about 15% warmth from heater, so yesterday had the heater bypass valve replaced at the recommendation of a garage I use. Now there's NO heat at all, just cold air, and the garage now says it must be a blocked heater matrix! :? Cheers
