I need some new tyres and have a choice between Toyo proxes ti-s and Kumho 712, which ones are better?

Blue cts was changed last week as was the wiring going to the lambda. Have noticed a very slight leak after the decat going to the first silencer. Will tighten the U bracket and see if the leak stops.

When changing from 1st gear(about 5000rpm) to 2nd gear i heard a big bang/ back fire. It has never done this before. What could the cause of this be? Leak in the exhaust? Car is a golf g60 Ed 1 with decat jetex exhaust, sns chip, 944 fpr, 68mm pulley, stage 4 jabba, jabba induction and boost return delete.

G60Dan, i checked their website and saw this, but when i phoned up one of the branches i was told that they sell a G40 one which has an orignal spec connector and that it is suitable for a G60. So i just wanted to confirm with stevemac as he works at GSF. Thanks for your help none the less.

stevemac, would you know if GSF sell lambdas for G60s with the orignal connector? Also is the G40 one the same? Finally are you based at the Fort branch in Brum?

Is it worth getting a universal lambda or should i just bite the bullet and get a genuine one? Are the universal ones reliable?

The meter works fine at all other times. On idle it shows stoich.

The a/f meter is not cycling on idle. Any ides what it could be- blue cts, lambda???

Yes you will need a chip if fitting a 68mm pulley. There is currently one on ebay for sale.

Sorted now, was a tooth or 2 out due to the double dots on the cam pulley. Cheers for the help Darren

Checked the pipe it is fine. The car was running perfect this morning before i did the work. Any other ideas? cheers

Just changed the camshaft, intermediate shaft and crankshaft oil seals aswell as the timing belt,timing belt tensioner,ribbed belt and crankshaft bolt. I marked all the pulleys with tipex before i took them off. Now the car is hesitant in 3rd,4th and 5th gears, it seems to hold back and then it goes. Also the idle fluctuates between 800 and 900 rpm,rather than idling at 9000rpm like how it was before i carried out the work. Help, what have i done wrong??

Is the g60 timing belt tensioner the same as a golf gti one? cheers

Can i use a Golf mk3 8 valve rubber rocker cover gasket or is the G60 one unique to G60s? Also as it is a rubber gasket do i need to smear it with grease or gasket sealant? Also what is the torquing order of the eight nuts? cheers

your other mounts are probably knackered.

Darren with good intentions i started another clear out at the start of this week,but on thursday i picked up a set of 9x16 RS bbs splits from an e30 bmw.

It could well be your spoiler control module. And by luck there is one currently on ebay. Hope this helps

If anyone is after one of these there is a complete one on ebay at the moment.It bseems to be complete withe all the screws, brackets etc. Quite rare now a days. Hope this helps someone
