All, My Sony headunit and CD changer have stopped working, ie can't switch the headunit on or open the changer. I've checked the fuse and thats OK. Any other ideas? Thanks, Phill

I wont be buying it. Well and truely pissed off as they pretty much had me set up to do and and just didn't confirm or cancel. Fortunately I hadn't booked any time off work. Phill Will probably have a quick look in the library...erm WH Smiths though.

My car went in to a vw dealer for some work and they cracked the rocker cover. They replaced it a week later and it wasnt untill someone was viewing my car (I had it for sale, but never sold it) they noticed it was a 2.8 cover. I went to the garage, explained and they had the correct one (VR6 DOHC) within a couple of days. The only thing is the writing is coloured red and blue....strange.

Well, I put the tweeters and crossovers in last night. Well the crossovers wouldnt fit in to the dash so theyre velcroed on top next to the tweeters which are fastened to the top of the existing speaker grilles which I had to cut so the wires could fit up the side of them. Still, a pretty neat finished article, and the crossovers actually look pretty trick. Anyway the most important part is that it sounds excellent!

I've not quite followed advise as I've got 6x4" JBL GTO 6426 in the back and Infinity 5000cs components in the front. I had to remove part of the rear speaker mounts because of the magnets, but the lodspeakers fitted in to the doors very well. I've got to fit the tweeters today but even without them its loads better than the standard set up. Thanks again. Phill
-
Whats the story with the crossover then? Since my cars already got the Nokia speaker and tweeter do I need to worry about the new crossover?
-
Henny, I've got a black dash but thanks for the offer. I'm starting to get the impression that this is going to be a bigger job than I initially expected. The rear speakers should be easy enough, but I'm getting a bit concerned about things like crossovers and cutting up bits of my car. I was hoping it was just going to be a case of unplugging the old speakers and plugging in new ones. Am I right in thinking that this is not the case? Thanks again. Phill

Ive just been out for a look at the standart speakers. The tweetere are fitted in to a plastic disk. How do I go about installing new tweeters? Thanks.

So I'd be better off getting something like some Infinity 5000cs for the front and the JBL 6x4's for he rear? Thanks for the help.

Chaps, I'm on the verge of going to Halfords to pick up some: 3.5" JBL GTO 326e - £40 5.25" JBL GTO 526e - £40 6x4" JBL GTO 6426 - £50 Am I making a mistake? Am I likely to have any problems fitting them? Thanks, Phill

My pump whined for ages, then finally one journey I found I couldnt rev above 5k about 20 or 30 miles later this dropped to 4k, then 3k and after about 60 or so miles, as I was limping home it, wouldn't rev above about 1500rpm.

It will knock over large bumps because the shock will bottom out, I had this problem when I first got my C and it turned out that the bump stop had just degraded. It shouldnt damage the shock.
-
Knackered bump stop, not at all expensive.....which is nice!

I had the same problem and the fuse kept popping. I found out that the heated window washers are on the same fuse and one was leaking which kept shorting it.

Depends how good you are, I'm crap so I took it to my man. However One of the driveshafts won't come out (as its that dry) so I'm going to leave it with him for a few hours for him to play with. In theory, if everything goes well it should be possible to do both sides within an hour, but if yours is in the same state as mine It may take longer.
-
I had a similar problem, I'll try and dig out the thread. In the end it turned out the driveshaft splindes needed lubing, simple as that. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7157 Edited to add previous thread

Well, turned out the driveshaft splindes needed a bit of grease, the knockings now gone.

The wheel bearing was/is the favourite option but there is no visable problem and you cant make it knock when the cars in the air so I'm guessing having weight on it is a contributing factor. Its been doing it for the past couple of thousand miles and has been getting very slowely worse so I guess its a case of waiting for it to get worse.
