  1. I have mine back up for sale now as car up for sale and this was never needed in the end. £116 delivered as per group buy- think there is an ad in the classifieds for it..
  2. They still sell them at VW- picked one up myself only a few weeks ago
  3. Yes i had the same problem- new black temp sender fixed the prob- best to get a new rubber seal as well - the old ones go hard and don't reseal properly- also to remove you just need to unclip the metal clip that holds the sensor in- but fiddly to get back but do-able
  4. I had a quick google on this actually- 30-70 mph in a Corrado is 5.7 secs- the R32's is 6.3!! It actually shouldn't be a suprise at all that the Corrado kicks butt- just a bit embarrassing for the poor chap with the R32- I even saw him nudge his mate in a kind of 'watch this' stylee as he came up behind me on the sliproad haha
  5. Well the puma came and went- best handling car I ever had Got offered an R32 at a good price- nice car and its everything everyone always says it is- Fast, comfortable, secure, sticks to the road well etc. Had a sneaking suspicion the Corrado was always faster though- proved yesterday when I handed a bit of a kicking out to another mk5 R32 yesterday- actually pulled a good 2 car lengths out from 40- 80mph :D ETKA Corrado.pdfDSC00464.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] Golf is going to have to go as have a new 1 series company car coming in April (PM me if anyone is interested- 06 manual in black with 30k on the clock) So its back to the Corrado! Been a few changes in the last few years including new KW V1's, new windscreen, new headlight glasses, recon-sunroof, new rear calipers, discs and shields and a nice full machine polish! stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfDSC00426.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] Corrado92.pdfDSC00423.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDSC00428.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC00430.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00443.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj] DSC00454.JPG[/attachment:1twddrhj]
  6. had the same problem myself- a blowtorch was the only way I could get them out- wish I would have used it first :-(
  7. You know I got away with dropping some light oil into the cable outer (done by lifting the rubber boot at each cable on the caliper side)- mine froze up all the time last year but never had any problems since doing this (and it was minus 8 this morning)- Think its just when you get water into the cables which lock up solid when its cold.
  8. I think 1/2 litre per 1000 miles is a sign of engine wear, not to mention the amount of oil the OP mentioned is in the intake pipe. 1/2 a litre per 1000 miles is undeniably a sign of engine wear- I never said it wasn't? In fact I never even mentioned anything about oil usage :?
  9. Yep I got one of these too- couldn't believe what a great fit it was!
  10. I had exactly this issue- I just pulled the PCV off and cleaned the joins, retightened the clips, and that was that. I wouldn't automatically assume its a symptom of a worn engine as mine uses no oil, keeps its plugs perfectly, doesn't smoke etc. It only takes a few drops of oil to make a nasty smell if its just being left to char itself on the manifold.
  11. Sorry Jon I missed your final question on this- so to bring it back from the dead: yeah they came round and fitted new bolts- all sorted. Had a leaking coily on the front when I checked a month or so ago (seems very unusual for a KW)- but they sent me a replacement out without any messing so just gotta get that fitted now at some point.
  12. Funny you should post this Kip as you might be able to help me out- I am halfway through replacing my rear brakes (shields, bearings, discs, calipers etc) and noticed there are two types of slider on the carrier- one tapers down in three steps and the second has two or three flats on it running the length of the pin- have you (or anyone) got any idea which way round these are supposed to go?? Cheers
