    KR wiring help

I'm trying to finish off the last few jobs on my 20vt Corrado but i'm stuck on a bit of wiring. The car was originally a 1.8 16v and i was wondering if anyone could tell me the wire colours for the wires for the coolant temperature gauge and MFA oil temperature? All the original KR loom is still in place but me being a muppet forgot to label these before i removed the old engine (plus its taken me over 2 years to get this far and i've long forgotten) Any help appreciated, cheers

    Aero catches

Has anyone ever fitted aero catches to their Corrado. Seeing as bonnet pins are now frowned upon i was thinking of ordering a set but not sure how well they'll fit on the Corrado bonnet.
  4. I had to cut a small piece out of the cambelt cover when i fitted my 20vt, also had to remove some of the sound deadening from under the bonnet as the throttle body sits very closely to the bonnet.
  5. lol i know what i'd like for it but would like to gauge what Corrado people might find an accpetable asking price?
  6. With less and less spare time due to a manic job i'm really struggling to find time to finish my 20vt Corrado. Its sat in a unit which is costing me £200 a month to rent and i know i aint going to have time to finish it anytime soon so thinking of selling it as a project. All the hard work is done, the engine/gearbox are in, the boost pipes and coolant hoses are all made up and fitted, just haven't fitted the exhaust/interior/last bit of wiring. Anyways the spec: 1990 16v car in blue, chassis polybushed, G60 brakes, Gmax lowered shocks/springs AGU engine (new spark plugs/water pump/cambelt and tensioner/pas belt fitted) Complete QPENG wiring loom/ecu plug n play kit QPENG Down pipe Front mounted intercooler 16v Gearbox with new black diamond clutch Solid front engine mount/rest mounts new. New clutch slave cylinder And much more i've replaced with new on the way. Any ideas on a value as is? Thanks
  7. Thanks Dec, that was spot on mate. Ordered one this arvo.
  8. Hi, Come anyone who has access to EKTA please find me a part number. I'm looking for the part number of the coiled copper hose that goes into the clutch slave cylinder. It has flare fittings like a solid brake hose. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hi mate, unfortunately it isn't just as easy as changing the injectors. When i looked into it i found that with the K04 you need to change exhaust manifold, oil & water feed & return, fuel rail, and fuel pressure regulator. But it the engine itself is strong enough to take the extra power. Might be worth looking for an agu engine or similar with a K03 and trying to source a K03s turbo as this just bolts straight on without the need to change anything and will give you an extra 30bhp to start off (before mapping). This would be the cheapest way of getting a bit more power out of a cheaper 20vt engine.
  10. Thanks mate, that was spot on. Its up and running now. Just need to tidy up the intercooler pipe work. Big thumbs up for the qpeng conversion kit from me, so easy to use that even a complete novice like me can get it up and running.
  11. Hi mate, i'm just in the middle of doing a 20vt conversion using an AGU engine from an A3, i'm also using qpeng for the conversion. Just a few things from your post. If you want to run a different turbo to OEM then i would ring qpeng first to confirm they have a map for the setup you want as AFAIK they only supply ecu with maps to run a std setup. You say you want to run about 270 bhp i'm sure that if you find a BAM and using qpeng you'll be pretty close to that figure anyway especially with a decent front mount intercooler so may not need to spend out on a new turbo.
  12. Hi, was wondering if anyone who has used the qpeng conversion loom can help me. I've fitted the engine (AGU) and just started on the wiring. I bought the whole qpeng setup second hand off someone, he was good enough to mark the wires for me but i'm stuck on one wire. Its marked as "fuel pump" and is a single wire does anyone know where i have to connect this to? The car its going in is a G-reg 1.8 16v. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  13. My 16v hit 239k just before i took it off the road to fit the 20vt. I'm sure the engine had been rebuilt at some point but chassis wise it was completely rust free and straight and only really part that was worn was the interior. I bought it on 220k miles and only did basic servicing right up to when i took it off the road. So don't let high mileage put you off if it looks clean.
  14. :( Time to get my angle grinder out then :( Oh well gives me an excuse to smooth the chassis legs now as the battery tray is showing signs of rust anyway.
  15. I've been trying to undo the 17mm bolt either side of the front cross member bolt but it just spins freely and doesn't seem to undo. Its like its not attached to anything. Even put an impact wrench on them and they just spin. I thought that they had captive nuts on the bumper bars.
  16. Hi everyone, this is my first post so hope i have put it in the right section. I'm just starting my 20vt conversion into my Corrado and come across a problem. Went to remove the bumper but unfortunately the captive nuts on one side seemed to be no longer captive! The bolt just spins. Any ideas on how to remove these bolts other than cutting the top of the chassis leg to get a socket on the nuts. Thanks
