  1. Hey thanks for the replies, I am gutted, especially since I brought it on myself :brickwall: The damage to the other car isn't too bad (dent & scratch), I don't think she is going to a dealer, she is just trying some local bodyshops for quotes as far as I know. The C has stayed local, went to a guy from near Buckingham. Hopefully he will service it (I said it needed servicing) and keep it in great condition. Hope I can find another good one next time I get one! (there WILL be a next time!) I lived in Wendover all my life til about 6 months ago (and my family still do)! What's this Nomads meet? Never heard of it - website? Could pop along in my Mini (at least I still have a fun car, even if it's not quite so fast!) :thumb right:
  2. It didn't go to plan  I MOT'd my Fiesta and just advertised it... And I crashed it  The damage is minimal (bumper, basically), but it's worth so much less damaged that I couldn't handle the thought of losing that much money on it... And I don't want to claim on account of having just cleared my old claim (over 3 years now) so I'm going to pay for the repairs to the car I hit (dented rear panel). But that meant I had to sell the rado to pay for it      Feel like such a gimp, can't believe I crashed the car just as I was going to sell it! The raado was collected today, luckily I made my money back on it, and the guy who bought it seemed to really like it - he was very enthusiastic and said he will have alot of fun with it. Wish it was me having fun with it! Instead I'm driving round in a now slightly battered Fiesta and hoping the repair bill isn't going to be too much on the other car  it was fun while it lasted :pale: A gutted, corrado-less, Lisa x
  3. 4. Sorry for the slow response, was in Newquay this weekend! The wheels are a bit odd - a kind of dirty grey/silver colour. Not dark enough for anthracite - they just look dirty, though they are not  I want to replace them but I can't afford it just yet :pale:
  5. Today was soooo good (dentist aside)! Finished work at lunch, got home to find insurance documents waiting on the door mat, rushed to the PO to tax it, then (after dentist) took it for a splash of petrol and a bit of a run  Then took it home, for about 10 mins before going out to take my friend out for a drive... It wouldn't start  So he came to mine as I couldn't pick him up, he looked at it and said it was very pretty, but laughed at it's inability to do anything... Until I thought "I'll have one more go" and WHOOMPF! So off we go, quick blast round some local scenery, said friend all of a sudden very impressed  We came back and got his "beast" of a motor as well, and went up Wendover Woods for a wee photo shoot.... :luvlove:   Then my dad took me for a spin... and decided he thinks the big ends are going  There is a sort of knocking at 3500rpm) :confused4: ... It also has a slight misfire and WAY overfuels - smells lovely but not too good for it (or passers by) I imagine! Theeeeeen another friend came round, and of course I had to take him for a cruise too  AND I have tomorrow off work for more Corrado related excitement! Jesus I am waaay too excited! Haha
  6. sweet! sounds like your Thursday will be a bit better than mine - having my wisdom teeth out!!!  booooo!! wish i was out in a newly aquired C instead!! wonna swap?? Nah I'm having root canal work done too Thursday afternoon  So not much better  Friday I'm off work, should be packing for Newquay but I am SO going to just bomb around all day! Haha
  7. Are you actually selling those? :luvlove: What size are they & how much, if so? Or are you just showing them off
  8. At the moment I have 2xNCB on a Fiesta which is my daily (until Thursday - then it swaps to the C) and the Mini on a classic policy. My dad's theory was that, as classic insurance is generally cheaper, and the Mini has a tiddly engine, it'd work out cheaper to insure the Mini on a normal policy (which wouldn't cost much more than classic) and save money on C insurance by making it classic. It seems I'm going to have trouble with that anyway because I have to use the car for work occasionally so while it's not often it's safer to get Business Class 1 (use for employer's business) because I'd be devastated if I crashed and they didn't pay out! Also rang up my main insurers today to swap the policy over, it's only an extra £100 on the premium to swap over which is frankly a bargain compared to quotes I'd been getting, sadly balanced out by the rip-off £14/week (which would be over £700/year) to keep the Fiesta insured - it only cost £430 in the first place! Hmmph, gits. Aaaanyway, assuming the docs come through it'll finally be on the road on Thursday... Until Friday when I have to put it away for the weekend as I'm off to Newquay in the Mini for the Riviera Run (anybody else into Minis? ...No? Thought not >_ I'll let you know how the C runs when it's got some fresh petrol and been for a blast down a few country lanes at the end of this week... I've booked a day off work especially for the momentous first cruise!
  9. That is actually orgasmic ! :luvlove: I want those wheels now ! But black centres :norty: meow !
  10. Man! ... *dons Little Britain voice* ... I'm a lady! Eep re the ride  I daren't comment because I haven't even been able to drive mine yet (3 cars on the road = wallet pain, waiting til next month to insure/tax it) but at *apparently* £200/corner the ride best be good! Loving the wheels too, and stretched tyres *drools* What have you done to fit 5-stud wheels? Yours would have been 4-stud right?
  11. They won't be going on your valver, thats for sure! VR wheels are 5 stud... 4 cylinder Corrado's have 4 stud wheels :( Aaaaah poo I didn't even think about that >_ Sorry mini-hijack there... So when you going to drop the car onto those wheels, the back especially looks so high  >_
  12. Looking good! What are you doing with the old wheels...? *whistles*
  13. Schmexi C :luvlove: I just bought a K reg 16V myself, not quite as slammed as yours though! I like
  14. Hey thanks for the comments guys! I do love it so! Hehe :luvlove: VW domo, it took me a while to work out what you meant but I see now, it just looks like a black circle doesn't it :| Hoping to be on the road by this weekend - got to see if my insurance company will let me add it as a second car to my policy. My dad suggested insuring the Mini as my main car and putting the VW on a classic policy to save money, not sure if that would really work... Are they cheaper to insure on classic policies? Probably worth a try I suppose... Would have to be insured for up to 10,000 miles though
  15. Thanks for the welcomes, ah I didn't know they all had karmann interiors  Some sellers mention it, some don't (this one didn't) so I guessed if it didn't say it, it didn't have it, lol. The initial plan is to get rid of my Fiesta so I can swap my insurance over, tax it and get on the road! It has a slightly uneven idle and smells like it's running rich, though it has been SORNed since August-07 and has absolutely sod all petrol, so the first thing I'm going to do is give it some fresh juice and take it for a spirited drive down a dual carriageway! It does have 12 months MOT though, always a good start  Only other mod I have planned for now is wheels - fancy some black 5-spokes on it :luvlove: I don't know enough about them yet to know what other mods to do, so you might see alot of me asking stupid questions which have probably been asked a million times before - I promise to use the search first! Lise
  16. Hi, I joined the forum a few weeks ago, been looking for my first Corrado. I found it on eBay! :luvlove: I also own a 2004 Fiesta 1.25LX (for sale), and a 1986 Mini Mayfair 998cc (lightly tuned) which lives in the garage next to the Corrado's current parking spot. Anyway, back on topic... Tech spec / general info: 2.0L 16V - unmodified engine Lowered on Bilstein shocks and springs all round Looks to be on stock wheels (not for long!) Full s/s Jetex exhaust with de-cat pipe Tinted rear lights Full closure Cobra cat 1 alarm (loud... managed to set it off within 10 minutes of buying it  ) Karmann interior? If the badge in front of the gear knob is anything to go by 140,000 miles Working electrics! Windows, sunroof & spoiler... Not the mirrors though (can't win 'em all!) And the important bit - photos: Peekaboo What do you think? Be gentle with me! Lisa :thumbleft: Edit: I had to resize the photos to upload them and it looks to have cropped them instead :confused4: (they look fine on Photobucket)
  17. I bought my first Corrado yesterday on eBay! Should be delivered at the weekend! w00t! :luvlove:
