  1. Cheers guys! Probably looking a couple of months down the line, will probably be a project needing work, maybe one with a good shell and broken engine! Fancy rebuilding a g60!
  2. Hi all!! Well after owning a mk3 golf gti for the past 2 and a half years I'm wanting to return to a rado! The golf was looking real nice but tin worm has taken it's toll :( So instead of spending on that I'm breaking it and saving for another rado. I can't help being drawn back to em!! So just a hello and can't wait to get back into these cars! Rob.
  3. anybody?? will post up the name of the immobiliser, i dont think its standard fit!! the alarm says rapid 200???
  4. hi, im having problems with my c, the immobiliser wont turn off, also when i put the key to ignition 2, the fuse box buzz's loudly!! thought it was a relay, but no luck with that... has anybody got any ideas?? the alarm also does intermittant beeping on ig. 2, and the some dash components dont light up, the trip comp goes, and some electrics, lights, etc... dont work on the car as far as i can see. ive checked fuses and obvious stuff, also cleaned up connections around the battery and starter, really sorry to sonic, who only deposited this car a few days back!!! the car has never has this problem before??? mystery!! thanks for any help in advance!!
  5. hi, sorry, had a busy night at work last night, the problem isnt properly diagnosed as yet, its going in to the garage on monday, the guy whos doing it did a lot to my mini, so i do trust him!! he said hes gonna see which rack mine has, and go from there!! not sure whether it is the rack or small factors adding up, but im really not wanting to have to get rid of this car for no money at all! i dont think it is leaking any pas fluid, but it whine alot, not sure if they always do that?? the fluid is full in the bottle anyway!! the wheel does sit down to the left when driving?? i'll let ya know when i get it back!!! ta for the help!
  6. not the answer i wanted to hear, lol but apreciate the help, hmmm, how long can i wait before needing this done, is it reasonable to have the other work done and wait for the rack 2 be done??
  7. had a look on the wiki, cant find anything!!! guessing what i will need is fluid, rack, anything else?? will see if my mate will do it with me, save a bit of cost!! is it a case of just dropping the rack and replacing, or do you need to drop part of the engine?? cheers for your help though!!! appreciate it!!
  8. yeah, not on my own though i dont think, but im wondering how long it can be left, i need to have the other (leaking coolant) problem though, just thought i may as well get the cam belt done while its being done, is it a day job?? is there a wiki actually, not looked... dont really know if it is the water pump?? just looks like thats whats leaking... it boiled itself the other day, oil temp got to 130, lol. thank though matey!!
  9. having loads of problems with corrado now!! ive got a possible bill of £1000 just for repairs really, and dont know whether i should sell or part ex, or keep and repair! it needs a new steering rack, water pump, cam belt re doing, all belts, handbrake boots, and prob more!! anyone got any thoughts? or anyone want it cheap??? maybe swap for something? its a '90 1.8 16v. just to say, i love this bloody car, but i have had quite a few problems now, and money is becoming an issue!! for the work i have had done, it has had it done well and proper!! any comments or q's are very welcome!!
  10. ok, got me mate to have a look, he's sure its the rack!! bugger, lol i dont suppose you still have your rack do ya piper??? will it fit my car?? cos from what i can find out the rack is bloody expensive new!! how much would ya want for it??? cheers all for your help though!!
  11. hi all, well i think the winter is taking toll now, just had the fan not come on for some reason or other, and i think there are a few things needing replacing, so just wanted to know the part no.s of the following parts if any of you know them... water pump cam belt alternator belt steering rack 1.8 16v 1990 h reg, cheers all for any help!!
  12. thanks everyone for your help, i wiggled the wheel left to right and couldn't really feel much play, when i wiggled up to down, thats when i got play from the leg, i will get my mate to have alook on tuesday!! see what he thinks!! i hope its not the rack, cos i really cant afford it, lol! feels a bit better driving today!! seems when ya let go of the wheel, it veers off to the right, with the wheel dropping to the right, but doesnt seems as it has been!! these bloody cars, i do sometimes miss the mini, ya could just ignore a problem on them, lol  but ive really started enjoying the rado of late!! even with the problems!!
  13. yeah, but theres lots more play on the drivers side, gonna get a mate to look at it on tuesday, see what he thinks, its strange, cos ever since he had it up to do the tracking, its felt loads better, he said he didnt really do anything, all very strange, will fill ya in when i get my mate to look at it!
  14. yeah, it was up on jacks, its on what looks like old knackered shocks and springs that i have been considering replacing anyway!!
  15. ok, so after a quick look, i have discovered that mr drivers side spring and shock seem to have a lot of movement in them!!! when i jiggled the wheel it almost looked like that could be the problem??? any thoughts?? knackered leg/top mounts??? steering wheel does seem to be dropping to that side now?? cheers, rob.
