  1. I shall try that in a min... although I just went to lock the car and the central locking worked to lock the car... but then I tried to open again and it didnt work... a 1 off!! lol
  2. Ok guys I have an issue with my central locking... when you go to unlock or lock the car with the key in the drivers side, the central locking does not operate the rest of the locks... I have to go to the passenger side to unlock the rest of the car and the central locking will then work, including the drivers door... So my 1st thoughts were drivers door handle defective... I changed this and it is still the same... I can use the alarm fob and it opens and locks fine... So what else can it be?? Mark
  3. its got to be the mk4s.. Thats what I put on my old mk2...
  4. I have just had a nose at my rear calipers as the one on the Drivers side has just been replaced (brand new) and is binding... I investigated and found that there is a spring visable on the new caliper externally... but on the other side there isnt... the spring is catching on the subframe preventing it releasing correctly... now I think that the sprung caliper is a mk2 golf item?? I thought that the mk3 and corrados caliper had no visable spring?? Mark
  5. Thats the carriers I mean... not the calipers... I know that the calipers are...
  6. Quick question... VR6 Corrado 1993.... Are the rear caliper carriers interchangable both sides, or are they handed?? Thanks Mark
  7. Thats a mental price... But then that is about right from the dealers... Can you not source a complete one from someone braking one? They are not hard to repair... Id bet the hub with a bearing already in would be £30 tops Brake disks £30 tops Pads £30 tops That something else cant be too expensive... So say £150 in parts If you are not technically minded then I am sure someone locally on here could help you? If worst comes to worst Id even come and do it for you... whats your post code? Id say you could do it yourself for £150 and if someone else helped... £150 plus beer tokens!! :D Mark
  8. Thats the words I just heard from VW... £55 sensor on trade! I have just made a seal up using a rubber ring I had when I did next doors Toyota surf head! Prob better quality anyways! Just about to give it a try... Wish me luck! Mark
  9. I recently purchased a VR6 Corrado off a member on here, he had spent alot of money getting it through an mot... I have begun to sort out all the little niggles and I have found a huge air leak on the Servo... I looked through the history ans it has had a Brake position sensor changed... (That will be why it looks new then!) Thing is I have taken it off to have a look to see why it is leaking air and it has no seal between it and the servo... Is there supposed to be a seal? Part no of the position sensor is 357 927 810 Does anyone know the part number for the seal?? or indeed if there is meant to be one? or has anyone got a spare one they have going spare!? Thanks Mark
  10. 16V and 8V are slighlty different on the mk2 golf for definate... although the early K-Jet golf 8Vs were the same as the 16V.
  11. Ill bung a new servo on... theres one for sale on the forum :)
  12. No idea... thats why I am asking what to try, any suggestions?
  13. Hi all, I have a problem with my Corrados brakes... it seems that no matter how hard you press the braking efficiency is shocking! the brakes just dont feel good at all despite new disks/pads and caliper overhaul and fluid change... you really have to stamp the pedal down as hard as you can to get it to stop... Its a VR6 1993/94 it has ABS and I really dont know what it could be... before I start shelling out on stuff what should I do to check? I have a shareware copy of vagcom and I know the ABS system is functioning as the light is coming on before starting the car and then goes off when engine running... I hear of ABS ECU's etc... where is this located? Help much appreciated...
  14. I am looking at some 8" wide 17" Wheels for my Corrado VR6... Would an offset of 35 fill the arches with a good look or will they be too far in? Cheers Mark
