  1. As above, my rubber pipe from the brake reservoir to clutch master cylinder needs replacing, can i just use std 8mm id rubber pipe or will i need something a little more specific? I guess these are obsolete at vag by now anyway?
  2. after recently picking up a ctn gearbox for my g60 conversion i have some questions i hope can be answered? I need a clutch slave cylinder so is it just passats of the same year (98ish?) or do late mk3 golf ones fit also? I also think it would be wise to do the drive shaft oil seals and main input shaft seal. Can anyone help me out with some part numbers for these and is it fairly straight forward job to do? Cheers in advance
  3. as above, have found a box and the shifter cables/mech but all i think i need is a mk4 shift tower? Is it as simple as changing the tower over or is it more involved? cheers
  4. Excellent, thanks, do you know if i can use a mk4 shift mech with this? I assume i need the mk4 shift tower also? Cheers
  5. As above, seen one for sale, just trying to check the claimed mileage as he bought a 1z passat a month ago and the mileag on the box doesn't tally. Cheers
  6. What about a dpa box? can't find anything about ratios on that one? Or even if it fits a g60?
  7. not struggling for traction in the dry as such but the 1st and 2nd are too damn low, can't change gear quick enough! I will get it dynoed and see what the figures are and take it from there.
  8. Cheers for that, mmmm, still won't do 60 in second! :( why do i see that as so important!
  9. to resurrect this thread after reading all of it! I want to fit another box as i find my current g60 box hard work. CTN looks like the answer but my only concern is my torque curve isn't as low down as others here. Currently 200ish bhp torque unknown as i have not dynoed it yet. My 3rd and 4th syncros are dying so a change is on the cards, but i am still undecided! I don't want to make my car slow! Cheers
  10. I need some guidance with my g60 conversion 1st pic shows the connector on the g60 loom,(from a golf g60) 6 wires, this feeds off the loom to the ecu connector and on a g60 connects to a correspondin connector near to the ecu holder. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC01176.JPG[/attachment:1r40szvx] 2nd shows the part of the loom i think i need to match up to it, only 4 wires, these match up colour wise with 4 of the 6 in the 1st pic. What do i do with the rest? Assuming the 4 matching should be connected? DSC01174.JPG[/attachment:1r40szvx] Base car is an 89 8v golf gti, donor car is 91 golf g60 ed1 I only have the 1 main engine loom so cannot change both looms. Any ideas anyone? Cheers
  11. Can i fit a corrado g60 fusebox then? Is there no other way of getting this in my car without changing the fuse box? What about the 5 pin connector within the g60 loom that goes to what should be a corresponding plug near ecu?
  12. I am about to fit a g60 engine (out of a golf g60) into my 89 mk2 golf gti 8v and i am unsure if i can just change the main engine looms as i thought i had 90 spec fuse box. But as my car is pre aug 89 i don't think i have. Hazard light on dash. Don't tell me i'm gonna have to change the fuse box! The g60 ecu wiring is all stand alone but it has a 5 pin connector that i am unsure what to do with. How do i wire this up? What are the differences in pre 90 spec and post 90 wiring?
